IT'S HAPPENING!!!!

After dropping all of it's flowers in the may/June heatwave and raking some time to recover my Rocoto Mazano's are finally putting out flowers again. First Pod spotted!

I don't know if there's enough time left in the season for them to finish growing but I've got a redneck idea for keeping the greenhouse warm if it proper decides to cool off. Involving a bucket of water and a 300watt fish tank heater

I other news my Cayennes and Chinescher Runzelhauts are as tall as me and still fruiting like crazy. The Piri-Piri are doing very well now also and tonnes of jalepenos coming out now.

Just the pesky warthogs left to show a pod.... Got 3 or 4 flowers I've manually pollinated so 🤞

Anyone got a chilli plant that refuses to die?

Pic 1. It's siblings.. Pic 2/3 the runt.

From early on after transplanting from the seed cell it was clear this thing was growing odd shaped leaves so I just chucked it outside near my other plants....assuming it would die. Through a combination of occasional watering from sky/run off from watering my olive trees/blueberry bush and strawberries this thing has survived out of sheer spite I think. And even had some half decent looking chilli's hanging off it.

First harvest. And uninvited tenant.

Harvested first crop peppers.

Fushimi

Chonky cayenne

Chineischer Runzelhaut.

And found yet another pepper with a twaterpillar init. These buggers have had more of my peppers than I have.

Special edition.

Growing these Chineshcher Runzelhaut from the chilli chump seed kit. Easily my most prolific fruiting plant this year. Got 1 bright red one ripening so far and found this chocolatey one hiding at the back. Looks very mean, ignore what the packet says these are not mild. I tried a green one and it made my pee burn. 🤣 Waiting to see what the others on the same plant produce hope it's not a one off 🌶️

Soft top greenhouse

There's nothing cooler in summer when it's roasting out than driving along in a soft top BMW or a Jaaaaaaaag. Sun on your face, wind in your hair. So I thought with the current heatwave rather than keep taking the plants in and out....

BEHOLD....The soft top green house.... Channelling a very old skool jeep/land rover look. It's the new 'to be seen doing' trend of the summer...

Sometimes my genius frightens even me.

How hot ?

How hot do we think these are gona be?

Should I try one green or wait for them to ripen?

Some outside time. Turfed the chillis out of the greenhouse onto the table because it's likely to get far too hot in there today. I've put the parasol up so they don't get baked in the midday sun and face them a good watering early this morning. Got some nice little fruits growning on some.

3 weeks tomorrow the new lights arrived. Was struggling for growth under the old lights. 3 weeks on I'm now rapidly running out of room.

Not ready for greenhouse as still gets too cold overnight here. So might have to take the lower shelf out and move the bigger ones all together to give them more room to grow. Prob gona hit mid may before see regular temps over night of +10c right now it's getting down to 3/4c overnight and I don't want to stunt their growth.
