with an exam coming up i had to juggle studying for that and working on this prototype, i have to say i'm rather happy of the improvements,
thank you gbstudio reddit for the small but needed feedback, the code migration made it run way faster, hopefully i can make a small level and show it on itch io eventually!

here i showcase my very early version of the movement system for my link's awakening inspired top-down platformer, i'm rather happy on how the movement is shaping, tho i'm having trouble on how to handle collision, only able to use GET_TILE_ID on GBVM, and manually blacklis or whitelist walls or ground tiles, it causes a big amount of framerate issues
if anybody seems interested in helping me with that you can comment or message me in dms
i made a custom cassette tape of all the 32 oneshot fan made tracks made by my friend and awesome composer: Nevermindslol

Here the story of how i made this thing ^^

When i ordered this shell i didn't know that it wouldn't be screen ready, so guess what i did? I tried to cut the screen space myself XD, turns out you gotta be careful with these toys, i almost entirely broke it, but i salvaged it just before i did... so i waited for a few weeks for another screen to arrive, a smaller one that was gonna fit perfectly, today i came home and started assembling it, there were quite a bit of issues at first, the glowing buttons couldn't change color, then after i fixed that, the screen brightness was stuck to low, soldered wires to see if it was needed for the leds, then turned out i didn't need that, i just had to solder a lil wire that instead of going around the battery port had to go near the power switch.
after all that, i finally got it, and i must say that it is the gameboy i'm most proud of atm

rather happy i finally ventured on this chip, can't wait to try making something more with it in the future
this is the 3rd gba sp i made, with it, both my sisters have a gameboy made by my hands, i thought that it would have been a quick one to assemble but sadly the screws that the gba sp screen shell i got the motherboard from were hard to put on this one, the design was put together by me on photoshop, i was so glad that the white color fits the shell like a glove, only thing left to add now is a better battery, luckily it'll arrive real soon, tho overall i'm incredibly happy of how it came out ^^
found this playlist/small game full of very nice chiptune tracks on itch . io and decided to load it on a flashcart and put it on my lil gameboy pocket, needless to say i achieved a vibe i am in love with at the moment
