I Am So Scared For Chapter 7

I Am So Scared For Chapter 7

THERE IS ONLY 2 CHAPTERS LEFT.

Toby basically confirmed that there will only be 7 chapters. And since chapter 5 didn't give us that much info or lore drops, I'm kind of worried.

Toby said that chapter 6 will focus on ONE ASPECT of the story. ONE ASPECT.

Do you know how much there is to explore with Deltarune?

I really hope we get more than 7 chapters, because Deltarune might just need that.

I have been waiting for quite a while for Deltarune to finish. Nowhere near as long as you guys have, but I've been waiting for around 2-3 years. So I STILL want the game to have a well written ending.

Since Toby said that chapter 6 will focus on only 1 aspect of the story, I'm scared that Deltarune will have a disappointing/rushed ending.

But let's hope that doesn't happen.

I Want Dess To Be A Bad Person

Hello. I just exaggerated my argument to get your attention, but the title still represents a part of my actual feelings.

What I mean is: I don't want Dess to be an objectively good person.

Im just kind of tired of all of the characters who's morality is objectively good. It just kind of feels like Toby Fox won't go the extra step of making an character morally.... Bad? Or... Idk. I just want Dess to NOT be an objectively good person.

HEAR ME OUT. She can be a good sister, mostly. She can be... "Cool" I guess. But I just want her to have flaws, human, and sensible flaws.

Maybe Dess can be mess? A screw-up? A troublemaker? And maybe that's why not many people talk about her often?

Noelle constantly talks about how much pressure her mom putes on her to be perfect. Well, I would want to implement this in Dess's backstory. But have it be opposite.

Have Noelle be the golden child, and have Dess be the "failure" in a way. Have Dess say that Carol DID try to push Dess to meet her expectations, and when Dess failed, Carol essentially "Gave up" on her.

Make Dess feel like an outcast. A screw-up. Second-best. A failure.

I feel like that would make sense, no? Have Carol focus on Noelle more than Dess. And have Dess 's behavior and contrarian attitude reflect this.

Have Dess constantly run away from home,.doing God knows what, exploring, being alone, having time to herself, just to escape the house. This would make A LOT of sense with her disappearance.

And have Dess 's actions inadvertently lead to her disappearance. Have it be partly her own fault. I feel like that would be a good thing.

I just don't want Dess to be an objectively good person. I just want her to be flawed.

Say, hear me out.

I would want the night of Dess's disappearance to go like this:

Noelle catches Dess trying to sneak out of the house again. Dess tries to get Noelle to go back inside, but Noelle holds her ground. Noelle continues to budge, and threatens to tell their parents that Dess is trying to sneak out (I could see Noelle being a brat in her younger years)

And this is when Dess finally breaks. She explains/tells Noelle her feelings about being discarded and feeling like an outcast.

Their argument escalates. Noelle refuses to back down.

AND, 1 of 2 things can happen, depending on how serious/severe you want things to be.

1: Dess eventually shouts at Noelle, says something hurtful, thus, hurting Noelle's feelings. Dess regrets it, but she can't take back what she said. Noelle stars to tear up a bit, I guess. Dess then runs away, and Noelle says "I hate you! I hope you never come back!" As she runs away. And that would eventually lead to Dess's disappearance.

2: Dess's feelings reach a boiling point. Dess gets mad, and she ends hitting Noelle (not full force, but just enough to have it sting a little bit) in a fit of anger. Dess would regret it immediately, but she already hit Noelle. Dess wouldn't know what to do. She would likely be consumed by guilt, and once again, end up running away. Noelle would say the same thing to her as she said in number 1.

So those are just 2 ways that could play out.

Also, it would be interesting if Noelle ever said "Maybe the truth is... Dess wasn't really the greatest person..." And also kind of funny. Mirroring what Asriel said in UT.

Also, I want to bring up the "Dess groomed Kris" theory. I have some split views on it. Grooming doesn't inherently HAVE to be sexual. And well, it COULD be true in the story, I guess. It feels like an... A little wrench to throw into the story. I don't know if it would be good or not, but I'm just bringing it up.

To quote the weird route here, it says "Since Dess left" not disappeared, but LEFT. I feel like my theory/fanon holds at least a little bit of ground.

Well, that's all I have.

I know this was less "criticism" and more "fanon" buuuuuuut Idk. Kinda felt like posting this here.

If you have any ideas, you can share them here if you want.

Do you have a problem with the fandom's inability to take criticism?

Not only that, but do you also think that because no one dares to criticize Toby's games, it could eventually lead to his games becoming tone deaf?

Kinger is nothing more than a plot device

Image unrelated

This rant might get a little unhinged, so be prepared.

There was SO MUCH potential with this guy. But NOOOO, just reduce him to the "Pep Talk guy"😭😭😭

PEP TALKS THERE. PEP TALKS HERE. ADVICE GUY. PEP TALKS. PEP TALKS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA

KINGER AND CAINE NEVER SHARE ONE INTERACTION. NOT.ONR CONVERSATION.

His wife is just the typical disposable woman. Genuinely nothing there.

We COULD have fleshed out his relationship with Scratch, but NOOOOOOOOOO. JUST HAVE HIM BE THE PEP TALK GUY. AAAAAAAA! Ts pisses me off bro😭 There was so much potential. WHY GIVE KINGER SOME NORE DEPTH AND COMPLEXITY, WHEN WE HAVE JAX???!??! AM I RIGHT FELLAS?

He just exists to info dump. INFO DUMP. INFO DUMP. EXPOSIT GUY.

WHY THE HELL DID HE DROP THAT BOMB KF INFORMATION AT THE START OF EPISODE 9??? THINGS WERE ALREADY BAD. Make it so Kinger hides the truth, because he fears the consequences of knowing too much, because he saw what that dude to his past friends. HAVE HIM HAVE AT LEAST SOME FLAWS. He just exists to info dump. And afterwards, HE'S COMPLETELY CALM AND NORMAL. HE LITERALLY KILLED CAINE. HIS CREATION. HIS PRIDE AND JOY. At least have him have SOME TYPE OF REACTION. He should have been A LOOOOOT more affected.

How he info-dumped that brain scan thing was genuinely so stupid. He apparently just never talked to a single person about this before.

Truly, I UNDERSTAND that he's a side character and all, but... Jesus. He genuinely doesn't have even one flaw.

They could have expanded on his past in the circus. Have him be related to the whole "messing with our minds" thing, have there be AT LEAST SOMETHING.

Kinger just comforts Pomni again, even though he should be arguably much more affected by the turns of events. He killed Caine. The circus is dead, everything is dark. He SHOULD feel like everything is his fault.

He SHOULD feel the absolute lowest he has been. He SHOULD be consumed with grief. Jax SHOULD have chewed Kinger out at the start, and that would have made Kinger's mental state worse. Not ONLY did it look like that in the trailer, it would have still been in-character for Jax, it would serve as a better and more reasonable conflict at the start, than whatever the hell that was.

Jax genuinely just randomly started being an asshole to everyone, despite appearing have gotten better. No. MAKE HIM SNAP AT KINGER. The one person in the ENTIRE ROOM that he would have at least a REASON to get mad at.

Jax and Kinger never even share a interaction or conversation. We also don't get anymore Kinger lore. Dude just fucking exposits everything.

Pomni should have comforted Kinger. KINGER SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOWN IN THE DUMPS. And Pomni comforting Kinger would NOT HAVE ONLY bene a parallel to episode 3, it would have ALSO SHOWN Pomni's growth.

Kinger also never even talks to, OR comforts Jax, just like I said. Considering Jax's backstory, that was such a huge missed opportunity.

Kinger should have also talked to Caine, about LITERALLY ANYTHING, THERE IS LITERALLY SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIP. BUT, no, just have him be the Pep Talk guy☺️

And when Caine comes back, KINGER SAYS LITERALLY NOTHING TO HIM. Kinger doesn't say that deleting him was an accident. Kinger doesn't apologize for accidentally deleting him, KINGER SAYS LITERALLY NOTHING. Zooble's dialogue should have been swapped with Kinger. Straight up. You can't convince me. AND Kinger should have talked a little more on top of that. Kinger does literally nothing.

All in all, we COULD have had an extremely complex, well written, and deep character, BUT NO, just have him be the Pep Talk guy.

We COULD have seen a much better Kinger, BUT NO, why do THAT, when we have JAXY BOY RIGHT THERE??!!😭☺️😭☺️😭☺️😭

I'm sorry for this being so long and being so unhinged, but I had to spill my thoughts out.

Asgore's Development Is So Rushed In Chapter 5

I don't care what y'all say... Ts genuinely comes out of nowhere😭

I will never forgive Toby for basically sidelining Asgore IN HIS OWN CHAPTER😭

Even though I WANTED an Asgore battle (basically everything was pointing towards there being one) I can at least UNDERSTAND why we didn't get one. This... However?

It would have been a lot more impactful to see him SLOWLY come to this conclusion. We really needed a lot more time spent with him. He has barely 10 minutes in an 6 hour chapter...

I would like to suggest a rewrite idea.

Rewrite:

We have an Asgore fight. BUT, Asgore isn't set on killing us, he would never, even at his lowest. But... He's trying to push us out of the dark world, similar to what he did in the beginning. Trying to make us prove ourselves. Similar to what Toriel did in Undertale, making it a slight little parallel/reference.

And... If we defeat him, AND if we spend a lot more time with him, THEN that scene can happen. However, it would have to be changed a bit. More emotionally raw. More spilling out his emotions to Kris. More... Unsure, more questioning. We can keep the apology in there, too.

My favorite part:

At the end, Asgore will ask something like: "Was it... Truly my fault...?"

And, the player will have 2 dialogue options.

One will be:

"No, it wasn't. It never was."

And the other will be:

"It was your fault."

....

I'll leave it there. Whatever happens next?... That's on you to think about.

I think that's the end of my post. I'm excited to see what you guys think.

I Really Like The Dinner Scene

The more I think about it, the more I like it. It's symbolism for a lot of things.

I don't know if this was intentional, but in my eyes... **Mary and Clark are having one last therapy session, but for the first time ever... They are being completely honest with themselves.**
