Queensland driving rules?

Approaching a stop sign. You're proceeding ahead, so no blinkers. You stop at the stop sign.

Car facing you on the opposite side is turning right. Their right blinker is on. They are also facing a stop sign. They wait until you stop, then turn directly in front of you.

The secret bogan teachings seem to be "if the car opposite you stops, it's OK to turn in front of them".

Anyone had this happen to them? There's an intersection near me where this happens all the time.

Is it possible to print a distributor cap?

Hi all, I know absolutely nothing about 3D printing, so I apologise if this is a silly question.

I have a 30+ year old car with a weird distributor cap that isn’t made anymore.

With the materials currently available for 3D printers, would it be theoretically possible to print a distributor cap for an internal combustion engine?

Are the materials used for printing insulators of high-voltage? Waterproof? Tolerant of engine-bay heat? Can withstand many heat-cooling cycles? Rigid?

I realise it wouldn’t be possible to print an exact replica of an existing cap, but I’m hoping the basic shell can be constructed by printing, then later drilled and machine finished, and all the metal conductors would be installed.

Would be great to hear people’s thoughts on this. 🤓

DogNZB up for anyone?

Currently getting a 404 error from the dognzb.cr server. So, I'm assuming it's down for everyone else too.

Edit: I’m using Firefox on Debian, just in case it turns out to be relevant. Strangely, Safari on my iPhone can access the DogNZB site with no issue.

Why are "no trucks right 2 lanes" signs on the left?

Serious question here for users of the M1.

Why the fsck are the signs advising trucks to stay out of the 2 right lanes on the motorway situated on the left side of the road where they can't be seen?

Why not put them where the truck drivers who are doing the wrong thing will see them? On the right side of the motorway lanes (in the middle)?

Am I asking too-much of TMR here?

How do I explain bank savings above the liquid assets limit that have been slowly accrued?

I've been on Centrelink Jobseeker payments for a few years. I've slowly saved-up enough to give myself some semblance of financial security for the first time in my life.

Centrelink recently requested I submit an updated income and assets report (the first since I originally applied for Jobseeker). They asked for the date I received this money. But there seems to be no-way to explain to them this wasn't received in a lump sum. They just require a date. So, I provided the date I invested that amount in a term deposit.

After submitting the report, I find-out Centrelink may cancel/suspend my payments for a while as I'm over a liquid assets limit. The suspension time seems to be based-on how far over the limit I am.

Did I just FU? Anything I should do better next time? Please let me know.

How do I update my assets if the last update hasn't been processed yet?

G'morning all.

As-per the title, if Centrelink haven't yet processed my current submission of my income and assets, how do I submit another update?

Apparently, update processing can take from a few days to several months. Is this true?
