How do you stay fresh on long travel days?

How do you stay fresh, particularly in your intimate area, when travelling? I am someone who naturally has a lot of discharge, no infections etc, but long travel days and hot weather etc can leave me feeling less than fresh. I don't like scented products either. What do you do?

Thanks!

Where should I go for this?

Hi 👋🏼

I hope this isn't too vague but here goes. I'm in the EU and want to visit the US again, haven't been since 2022. I've visited a fair few states; Vermont, PA, NY, Massachusetts, FL, California. Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois and NJ. I loved them!

I'm looking for somewhere that's not a city but is close to one, that has a welcoming small town vibe. Something you might see in a Hallmark movie is the best way I can describe it. I'm not looking for kitsch. Love nature, outdoors, good food but also happy to stroll around new places.

Any recommendations?

Beginner advice appreciated!

Hi all,

I'm a bit ashamed to say that, in my mid to late 40s, I cannot keep plants alive. I have this vision of a house full of beautiful plants but they always end up dying.

I did not know until recently that you're supposed to repot (please no judgement, I'm an otherwise smart and capable person) so I said to myself, okay give it another go.

I went out and got some plants I liked, I'll start small and hopefully my collection will grow, pun intended.

I have so much admiration for people with thriving houseplants and gardens. I really do. Any tips on how to keep these alive? What should I be doing regularly? I have a golden retriever too so I googled if any of these are toxic, but I don't think so.

Thank you.

Where do ye buy your coal and logs for stove?

I'm trying to be organised this year instead of being last minute!

Where do ye buy good coal for stove and seasoned sticks? Do ye buy hard or soft wood? I saw one place selling Hornbeam? Never heard of it before but looks good.

Any recommendations?

UCD Vets, anyone have experience?

Hi,

My pet has just been referred to UCD Vet. Obviously not for good reasons so we're all quite upset. Has anyone been there with their pet? How did you find them?

Has anyone ever won anything with Ooosch or Blaa?

I see ads for these all the time with photos of people who have supposedly won things. They seem to have quite substantial giveaways. Has anyone won anything from them or do you know someone who has?

6 Yr Old Female Retriever Facial Drooping and more

Hi,

So two days ago I noticed that food was getting stuck in my dog's cheek (6yr old Golden Retriever). This was strange. She was also drooling and the right side of her face was droopy. I rang the vet straight away and we got an appointment. I was worried it may be a stroke but she is walking and moving fine otherwise so vet didn't think so.

Her right eye is not responding the way her left is, it's not blinking and when she sleeps, it doesn't close properly.

Her back right tooth looked bad so vet thought maybe an infection was causing this. I do brush her teeth, as much as she allows me to, she is very sassy, so I'm feeling awful I did not spot this. Vet gave me antibiotics and steroids and I'm going back in the morning to see if there is any improvement. I don't see any. It is as if her right side is paralysed, she has vision in the eye though.

I'm sick with worry. She is our whole world, we rescued her 3 years ago and she is just the most amazing dog.

It's so upsetting to see her like this. She is eating fine and drinking and walking. She loves the beach, we went as normal and she was running and rolling in the sand.

I've googled, I know I shouldn't but I'm so worried, and it says it could be the tooth or some sort of facial neuralgia that just happens. It just came on so quickly.

I will do whatever she needs to make her feel better. Just wondering has anyone had anything similar with their dog?

Thank you.

Disappointed by the last number of books I've read.

Hi 👋🏼

I've been quite disappointed by the books that I've read recently. My mistake was going onto Good Reads and picking books that are firm favorites. I read two Riley Sager books that were just meh, All The Colour Of The Dark was the same...to name but a few.

I'm thinking of 3 books that I've read that I still think about and hoping you can suggest something similar.

I loved She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb.

A Thousand Splendid Suns and American Dirt. I know they are quite different in some ways but can anyone suggest a book that is similar to any of these?

Thank you.

Bought new tyres 2 years ago, car service says they are 6 years old. Is this normal?

Hi,

2 years ago, in April 2024 I bought 4 brand new Firestone Roadhawk tyres for my car which is a 212, I'm the only owner. I paid nearly 600 for 4 tyres.

I brought it in for a service last week, to the dealership and they wrote on the sheet that the tyres need to be replaced as they are more than 6 years old.

I didn't see it until I got home but I questioned them as I thought it was strange and they said they checked with the technician and the date stamped on to the tyre is as so.

Is this normal for a reputable tyre shop to sell me tyres that were 4 years old? Is this common? I don't know a huge amount about cars so would appreciate some guidance?

Thank you.

Letter from Sky. Sign or not to sign?

Hi,

So a relative of mine is one of the people who received a letter from Sky in relation to a "dodgy box".

Yes I know it's illegal to have one but I'm just asking whether to advise them to sign the letter or not? They have quite a lot of health issues so watching tv is one of their only way to switch off. They only had this box yoke for one year about 4 years ago.

They have received 3 letters in total.

The first two basically say sign this within 2 weeks otherwise we may consider "an injunction, damages and legal costs".

The third letter says the same except that it's the final correspondence from them prior to any action against you.

Should they sign?
