Amazon Flex in the McAllen/Edinburg area — is it worth it?
Hey everyone, I’m in the McAllen/Edinburg area and was wondering if anyone here does Amazon Flex.
I have a full-time job, so I’d mainly be looking to do it on the weekends for some extra money. I did DoorDash for about 7-8 months and having great status on it, but eventually stopped because the tips around the Valley were just really low. After gas, mileage, and putting more wear and tear on my car, especially dealing with the heat down here, it just wasn’t really worth it for me.
I recently got an opportunity to try Amazon Flex, so I’m wondering if it’s any better around here.
For anyone who does Flex in the Valley, what has your experience been like? Is it actually worth doing on the weekends? How are the blocks and pay around McAllen/Edinburg? And do you feel like it’s worth the extra miles you’re putting on your car?
I’m not looking to make a fortune or anything, just trying to see if it would be worth doing as a weekend side gig compared to DoorDash.
