Tolbadge voor combinatie >3500KG

Wie heeft hier de tolpoort tip.
Met mijn camper (2100kg leeg gewicht en 3100kg max) en aanhanger (800kg leeg en 2500max) ga ik op kenteken over de 3500kg MTM heen. Realistisch zit ik beladen daar niet aan maar rond de 3400-3500kg

Als ik de documentatie van de tolbadge leveranciers lees werken die alleen tot een 3500kg combinatie gewicht. Nu is de vraag of ze echt meten of afgaan op de MTM op kenteken?

First attempt at 90year old aluminium castings

Broken 90year old gearbox remote casting.
Pic 1 is how it started pic 2 is where I got it with grinding out the weld first instead of just cleaning.

Main learning point is you can never have it too clean. And that you really can drop the amps when there is some heat into the casting.

I got it structurally strong but not the best looking, had to grind it down anyway as it is a bit of a visual part.

Material was 3-5mm thick, 170-130 amps and I first did a pass without filler to float some crap out of the casting.

Other than test pieces my first actual TIG work as I needed the remote back as a spare for my racecar

Removing rust stains from Aluminium

Any tips for removing rust stains from the aluminium bed of my trailer?

A brass wire brush works well as the bright patches show but is too labour intensive for the whole bed. Doesn’t have to be shiny just not rust coloured. And I’d prefer a way that doesn’t deteriorate the galvanised fittings or frame

Right now just adding text for the 400 word minimum. I use it to transport my vintage racecar.
Hmm still need more words.

R55 roof rack struggles

Never mind the dirty car but how this (new to me) rack sits just looks wrong.
Followed the YT procedure from passport auto but have the feeling this rack is to wide for my clubman. Could it be for a countryman?

R55 cooper non S map and or pcv problems?

So while driving along the mini gave a few pufs of smoke and went into limp mode. When I scanned it I got the P1105 fault so I dug out the MAP sensor. And it was coated with an oil film explaining why it failed. So I ordered a new one which should arrive tomorrow.

Now to avoid a repeat I checked the PCV pipe and there was some oil in there so, wonder what can be wrong in the PCV system other than the valve as I have already replaced that a month ago as part of some maintenance.

Can the cam cover itself be defective? Valve guide seals have been done in January

Diagnose, gevoel of scantool

Hoewel ik veel klus ervaring heb (bouw eigen race motoren restaureer auto’s) ben ik redelijk nieuw met het werken aan moderne auto’s met een OBD poort en scantool.

Nu vraag ik me af hoe jullie het doen en hoeveel vertrouwen jullie hebben in de scantools.

Mijn Mini (r55 2010) stottert op dit moment en als ik zonder scantool zou diagnoseren zou ik beginnen met de ontsteking omdat de klachten daar op lijken.
De scantool zegt echter dat de MAF niet (goed) werkt.

Dus nu vraag ik me af vertrouwen jullie de scantool blind of ga je zelf nog op onderzoek uit?
