What are the best parts of Cary, in your opinion?

I’m from a small NC town, went to college in a small NC town, and then lived in Chapel Hill during and a bit after grad school. My fiancé and I both work in DT Raleigh now, and we found a nice little townhome in Cary so we’ll be moving soon.

Despite it’s flaws, one thing I loved about Chapel Hill/Carrboro is that it really had a sense of community and I felt like people were invested in their neighborhoods and it somehow still had a small town feel in many ways. So I’m a little anxious moving to somewhere that’s bigger, even if it’s not that big, and I know I probably sound dramatic.

Through no fault of Cary’s own, I’ve grown up hearing the familiar stereotypes that it’s full of strip malls and rich people from the North. Because of all this, I’m pretty anxious about the move and would love to hear the aspects of Cary you love the most.

We like the outdoors (parks, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, etc.), breweries, restaurants/bars that feel like lowkey neighborhood spots, sports, museums, etc.

We’re in our mid-late 20s and don’t have any kids, if that makes a difference.

Edit to add: My fiancé is from Raleigh, so he’s much more familiar and comfortable with Cary. The moving anxiety is definitely just on my end!

Name Change Surprise Ideas

I’ve been very conflicted about changing my name, but I’ve decided I want to. Since it wasn’t already implied, I want to tell my fiancé in a fun way. What are some fun ideas to do this? I’m not creative, so I’m struggling!

Chris Sumo mentioned next years tour as being in Los Angeles. Any confirmation of this? I can’t see anything online
