Modern TVs are crap tvs
They are great displays and AD machine but genuinely suck at being a standard old school TV

Found on AliExpress!
Might be the best thing I've bought in a while!
We were watching S6E09 S.R. 819 last night (great episode) and there's a hilarious scene where someone obviously throws a pigeon in shot but it hits the main actor in the side of the head.
Sorry for the long clip but it's best in slow mo. 😂
The X-files is way funnier than I remember
Recently went live with our solar and batteries and it's great how much of an anticlimax it has been.
No drama, no worries or power issues.
The only thing I would change is the paperwork side of it re export but that's government and bureaucracy so no surprises.
Well done to the solar industry for making it so deliciously uneventful 😂
After months of waiting my solar and battery system goes live today... Only to be the same day as an eclipse!
Obviously it's a bit of a joke but I can't wait to see the impact on the panels!
I'm usually very structured and happy with my workouts and progress but wondered if it's worth focusing on a weakness like shoulders or something fun like improving my bench press for say 6 weeks?
Love to hear people's thoughts
This made me laugh so much!
Wish they included it in the Lego set
Sorry I spelt Scully incorrectly. I was in bed without my glasses 🤓
I'd avoid travelling past Llandudno/Conway today on the A55.
I think it might end up being closed at some point
Now that we all agree we need to get A/C, can we start talking pools!!
I don't need a holiday home anymore but I need an outdoor pool and bar area
Hi all, just thinking ahead to holidays.
I'm about to get solar+batteries in August and wondered what long-term users do when they go on holiday.
Do you monitor it and sell all stored capacity at peak?
Or do you set and forget?
My wife shouted "she's just said it" when the inevitable other job was mentioned today
I realised this morning that when companies try to charge people for basic AI like ChatGPT or Gemini and people won't pay, they will be left with a worse product than pre-AI.
Google for example has integrated AI into search and AI has popped up in everything only to inevitably be paywalled.
Everything is going to suck.
Found a pool of water in the bathroom last night.
Turns out it's from a dislodged pipe in the attic that had been dripping down the waste pipe.

I thought this was a massive issue but I can get this repaired and fixed for £100.

Not as bad as it could be, just need to stop the peak and let it dry out.
Found a leak last night coming from the fully tiled shower.
Luckily I think I have home emergency cover but fuck, there goes half of my Saturday.

I'd probably do the repairs myself but this might be one of those times I let insurance do it's job
I'm about to take the leap into solar/battery, but why do we think that people are hesitant?
Is it the cost, payback time or something else?
To me and most on this sub it seems like a no brainer but why is it no shouted from the rooftop that everyone should do it.
Edit: thanks for all the comments. It's really interesting to get everybody's perspective.
I'm a bit risk averse personally so see it as a good way to de-risk my lifestyle in the future rather than investing my cash in the stock market that I know very little about.
Just rolled credits of planet of Lana 2.
It's great. A real treat.
If you like Limbo and Inside style gameplay, give it ago.
Great story. The art style and music are top notch
Hi all, I've had this quote from Glow Green.
Seems very reasonable inc scaffolding.
Any thoughts? Is the company ok?
Pretty sure I heard an AI with an American accent reading a story on the 13:30 news today.
The BBC is cooked
Hi all,
My Nest smoke alarm is reaching the end of it's 10yr life span and Google has stopped making them.
Has anyone found a suitable replacement in the UK?
I really like the connected features
