looking for a new friend group ?

hi!! I made a post a couple weeks ago with the goal of forming a group to meet up consistently for a few weeks and hopefully become friends with each other

anyway happy to say that while it's still a work in progress, it's been pretty successful and I'm having a lot of fun. honestly surprising to me too. but we would love to have more people come hang out!!

about me: 25f living in brooklyn. pretty cool if you enjoy high school drop outs with adhd and mediocre social skills. about the rest of the group: between 22 - 30, pretty cool and fun to hang out with :)

about YOU: willing to commit to hanging out with. group of strangers a minimum of three times. ideally between 22-30, living anywhere in nyc. if you're neurodivergent, lgbt, or something like that, you'll probably get along with us. I would love for more girls to join the group especiallyyy but guys are welcome too. as long as you're not looking to get a girlfriend out of this.

dm me or reply to this post with a little bit about yourself and why you want to join!! if you pass the vibe check, I'll send the discord server invite.

let's make a friend group ?

hii everyone. 25f living in brooklyn and desperately in need of a new girl group! (guys welcome too if they can pass the vibe check ..)! problem I am noticing is that it's really hard to make friends without enforced proximity before starting the friendship process haha. sooo I want to collect a group of people, schedule minimum three mandatory group hang outs and then see where we go from there? maybe we'll be besties by then maybe we'll all mutually ghost each other. who knows

things to know about me: have been recently described as "weird' and "are you like a little bit autistic"? but also "you're pretty charismatic you should try doing stand-up" and "you have swagger". mixed reviews.. I tend to get along pretty well with neurodivergent and/or lgbt+ people but open to everyone!

anyway.. if this sounds interesting to you, reach out to me (tell me a little bit about yourself if possible!) and if there's enough interest I'll set up a little groupchat or discord server or something. figure out the details from there

guitar rental?

hi guys.. I'm trying to start leaning guitar WITHOUT dropping a few hundred dollars on an instrument I don't know if I even like playing yet. I signed up for some classes, and they offer guitars at the classes but it doesn't look like they do guitar rentals.

does anyone know if there's a place in brooklyn I can rent/borrow a guitar for like one month until I decide if I want to buy one? 🙏 I know the library does guitars but I'm 25th on the waitlist lol

if I buy a pack of chicken every week, split it up into individual portions in ziplock bags and freeze those, when's the best time to season the chicken. after it's defrosted? that's when I've been doing at least..

(note that I knoww I should be defrosting it in the fridge over night but I don't remember to do that so mostly I defrost it an hour or something before I cook)

hi I signed up with crunch a while ago. and I actually used my membership lol. after a couple months though, I realised I could get a free membership at a nicer gym close to my work so I did that.

I never cancelled my crunch membership though because.. idk I can't tell you. I just never got around to it. I think I switched over in January. I also happened to stop using the connected bank account at the same time, so they're not able to charge me. basically I owe them like 4 months of membership, and I'm assuming if I cancel now I'll have to pay the balance. Which is like fine if I have to it definitely is my fault.

However, I'm planning on moving from America (where my crunch membership is) to the UK approximately in August. If I move out of country , what will happen if I just never pay it? is it gonna affect me in any way? or should I just suck it up and pay now

hi!! I'm super sensitive to noise and I always have been it's my burden.. i have really bad misophonia specifically.

I work in an office with two/three other people and one of them keeps a giant box of candy and gum above her desk, free for the taking. these people are snacking all day. it's like genuinely unbearable to me. I don't like wearing airpods because there's people coming in and out all day and i sit with my back to the door. and I hate being jump scared by people appearing without me hearing them almost as much as the chewing noises.

I got loop quiet 2s a couple weeks ago for my apartment and I adore these things.. I love having peace and quiet on demand.

I don't think I can use these at work due to my need to be aware of what's happening around me. but I'm coming home from work so overstimulated and exhausted every day. which of the other loops would work for this?

- need to be fully aware of my surroundings and to be able to have conversations

- need to block out eating noises, people having phone conversations on loudspeaker noises, kids crying noises etc

- both of these need to be perfectly balanced or ill cry

please tell me if this is possible 🙏🙏

hi! not sure if anyone knows the answer to this, but basically.. I think I screwed myself over re financial assistance for uni. for context I have both an Irish and British passport, I lived in Ireland until I was 12, England until I was 18, then floated around for a bit, another full year in England at 20, came to NYC at 21 and now I've been here for almost 5 years.

now my US visa is almost up, and I want to go to university and get a degree. I figured I could do either Ireland or England but kind of decided on England. anyway after looking into it, I don't know if I can qualify for residency status to get financial assistance (in either country).

does anyone know if I even have a chance at getting residency? follow up question, how much do they look into it? If for example I move to england now and apply to university for the 2027/28 school year, how many questions are they going to ask? should I just suck it up and assume I'll have to pay full price or is there anyyy way I can get around this without waiting three years lol.

one other note is that I'm planning on doing an Access course first (didn't do a levels lol), ideally starting this September, and the loan for that is also based on residency.
