Health teacher looking for appropriate Degrassi episodes to show in class.

Specifically that deal with mental health, SOGI, healthy and unhealthy relationships/friendships, nutrition/eating disorders, mental health/suicide, abuse, online safety.

Episodes that are appropriate to show in class. Ideally the topic should be covered in 2-3 episodes, 4 at most.

I'm aware of a few for SOGI (Adam's two parter) but most of the LGB storylines span half a season.

Suggestions?

How is Gregory Simmonds as a professor?

I have CONV1011 (Intro to Tourism) with him online. Has anyone taken that or any other class with him?

How is he? RateMyProfessors suggests that he's pretty intense.

Do OCTs have a duty to report if we become aware that a student or other person under 18 whom we know outside school (coaching, etc.) is using drugs or liquor?

For example, if I hear that students were a grad party drinking or doing illicit drugs, do I have to report? What about if I coach a non-school team and become aware of the same with regards to the kids on the team?

Do we have to notify admin, the parents, and/or CAS?

Obviously I don't condone it, but the fact is that the vast majority of high school kids drink underage at least once in a while.

My understanding is that the duty to report applies to neglect or abuse, and allowing a child to drink underage doesn't really meet that threshold unless it's excessive. Bad parenting, maybe, but not necessarily abuse. So it doesn't need to be reported unless it's going on at school.

Am I right?

Experienced teacher considering going back to Sudbury and looking at my options. I can teach French immersion and also biology and social studies.

Is there any chance of getting on full-time?

How big are the high school classes?

And how are the kids/admin? Is classroom management difficult?

David Letterman did a Top Ten featuring the Survivors from Borneo. Most of it isn't overly funny, just like Letterman in general, but this line from Colleen is pretty funny to watch years later.

It's also crazy to think that Borneo aired before Bush was even elected. It was the only season to air when Clinton was president. AO was filmed when Clinton was president but aired once Bush had taken over. (I believe the filming overlapped with Election Day.)

Hilariously, there's actually a line about Clinton in the final episode, where a question in the Fallen Comrades challenge asked which castaway said that they'd like to be stranded with President Clinton or the Pope because they're the most likely to be rescued.

Makes you feel old, too: We've been through six presidents since the show first aired, if you count Trump twice. And four Popes, although John Paul II wasn't actually named in the question.

Also, given how reclusive Colleen became afterwards, maybe she actually did run away to a desert island after Bush won.
