Ants in soil, that only come out when we water the plant.... what to do?

We have this indoor tree, in a large pot. When we water it, apparently there are ants in the soil, and they come out, wait for the water to drain a bit, then go back into the soil. It's an indoor tree, and we have cats. Something we realized is that if we put ant killer on top of rocks that cover soil, well, when we water it, the act of watering it just dilutes it and the ants won't be killed. Any ideas on what we can do? We want something to KILL the ants, not simply an ant deterrent. It faces south and gets 10 hours of sun a day.

So, you want people to go to restaurants, which could be totally fine, but maybe one dish is bad... and then they take a photo of it, post it here, and potentially ruin that business?

What a stupid subreddit. Who made this, and why?

Would you rather work 5 days a week with ~8 hour shifts at a job you dislike, or work 3 days a week with ~13 hour shifts at a job you hate? (Both about 40 hours a week)

Driving from Chicago to Niagra falls. Any recommendations for 1 to 2 hour stops?

We love cool nature stuff, and idyllic cozy little towns. Love to hear some ideas! Please see the attached image for possible routes we will take... we hope not to deviate too much, but will a bit if it's worth it.

Google Play store apps for weather radar?

I live in the US. When I have tried to look on Google Play store to download weather apps that will show the Baltic states, or even Europe, still only apps showing US only radars show up. Any recommendations for apps that will show Baltic states weather radar?

Can't bike to go parasailing, only allowed to drive.

Biked across the sland to get to Sea Pines to go to a booked parasailing reservation. Parasailing I paid for. Guess what? Bikes aren't allowed if you are not staying there. Im actually ok with that, maybe just gotta pay. Nope.... You can only get through in a car. Mind you, plenty of bike paths. Safe for bikes. I said I would pay for two full car passes, for our two bikes. Nope. Cars only (yes there are bike paths along the road). No where on the parasailing website does it say this. I'm not upset about that, im upset about the stupid rule. Even paying a car fee for two bikes is not allowed. Ridiculous. Honestly it's so stupid im never coming back to this island.

Edit: we were on regular bikes, not electric.

A driver parked his car on the street, next to a designated bike lane. Driver opened the car door to exit, and a cyclist hit the car door, lost control, went into oncoming traffic, and died.... illinois United States

Thankfully it wasn't me. But would the driver be legally responsible for his death? Can the family sue, and if they sue, would his car insurance cover it?

Rats.... am i doing the right thing? Rats burrows in my walkway....?

I called 311 to report some rats in by back walkway area. But they are still there. Like, 4 rat buttows. I initially thought they were bunny burows, but nope, rats. Im struggling to buy rat poison online, because, to be honest I know its cruel. But I can't have a rat infestation just outside my door. Can someone tell me I'm doing the right thing by buying rat poison?

You are NOT ALLOWED to be sad by this... please read....

This is Tama. 18 years old. George Bush was still president. Think about all that has happened! Named after a Japanese train cat. She has traveled everywhere with me. She has flown First Class across US, Twice! She has only been surrounded, her entire life, by love and luxury. And cuddles. So many cuddles. But she let me know it's time to go. A cat's life couldn't be more awesome.
