Palantir and Nebius partner to deliver a complete sovereign AI stack

Palantir and Nebius partner to deliver a complete sovereign AI stack to Palantir customers
Palantir names Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner, bringing Nebius compute and inference inside the Palantir perimeter
Strategic partnership based on shared vision that open models and looped customer data create the smartest domain intelligence and provide better security
Companies will work together to bring new AI capacity online faster

Miami and Amsterdam, September 8, 2026 — Palantir Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: PLTR) and Nebius Group N.V. (Nasdaq: NBIS) today announced a strategic partnership to bring Nebius's AI-native compute infrastructure and cloud platform to Palantir's commercial customers.
As part of the partnership, Palantir has named Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner and, following the integration period, will bring Nebius compute and inference endpoints inside the Palantir enterprise perimeter, enabling eligible customers of Palantir to access Nebius’s cloud and inference infrastructure and thereby giving them control over their compute, data, and models.
The companies will also work together to accelerate the deployment of new compute capacity to serve Palantir customers, including through modular data-center deployments at sites where power is already available.
Palantir believes that AI should serve an organization rather than governing it. Palantir's Sovereign AI Operating System, built on AIP, Ontology, Foundry and Apollo, provides the authorization and isolation layer that lets organizations train models on their own proprietary data, and retain control of their compute, their models, their data, and the advantage those models produce.
Bringing Nebius infrastructure inside the Palantir perimeter opens that opportunity to commercial organizations that have not previously had a sovereign option to run their own models on trusted infrastructure.
Eligible Palantir customers will be able to deploy open models on Nebius infrastructure and continually adapt them using their own data for their specific domain. This gives organizations the ability to build AI that can outperform general-purpose closed models for their particular use case, while retaining control of both their data and the resulting model.
Alex Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir, said:
“Nebius’ compute infrastructure powers your ability to run your own AI models under conditions you control. Our ontology and their infrastructure will undergird the sovereignty our partners are demanding.”

Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius, said:
“Organizations need both the performance of large-scale AI infrastructure and control over their data and models. Together with Palantir, we are bringing this to commercial clients enabling them to run their optimized open models on trusted infrastructure.”
Palantir selected Nebius for what few providers can claim — being built for AI from the ground up rather than adapted from general-purpose computing, with infrastructure and software designed together for demanding AI workloads, and able to be integrated directly into Palantir's Sovereign AI Operating System.

EU launches AI Gigafactories call to boost computing capacity (€30bn investment)

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_26_1708

EU launches AI Gigafactories call to boost Europe's computing capacity and unlock more than €30 billion in investment

The EU today launched a call for tenders to establish up to seven AI Gigafactories across Europe, as part of its latest major push to accelerate Europe's technological sovereignty and ambition of becoming the AI Continent.

Led by industry and supported by up to €10 billion in EU and national funding, the initiative is expected to unlock at least €20 billion in private investment across the Union. It will expand Europe's AI computing capacity and give start-ups, scale-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises, industry, academia and public authorities access to infrastructure for training, inference and fine-tuning advanced frontier AI models.

The AI Gigafactories will combine advanced AI processors, software and cloud technology stacks, high-speed connectivity and energy-efficient data centres. Together with Europe's network of 19 AI Factories, they will strengthen Europe's technological leadership, resilience and strategic autonomy.

The initiative will ensure that Europe can develop advanced AI on its own infrastructure, in line with EU rules and values. AI technologies developed in the AI Gigafactories will follow EU standards on data protection, safety, security and ethics.

Who can apply

Consortia or Special Purpose Vehicles bringing together companies, public entities, investors and other partners can apply.

The AI Gigafactories may be established in a single Member State, either on one site or across several locations. They may also include cross-border developments in several Member States through distributed AI computing facilities.

Proposals will undergo a competitive evaluation to select the successful projects.

Funding and scale

The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and Member States will jointly procure compute access time from the selected AI Gigafactories. Eighteen Member States have signed a joint procurement agreement with the EuroHPC JU: Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. The procurement process will support up to seven AI Gigafactories across two consecutive development phases and two lots, with participating Member States matching EU funding. Public funding acts as a powerful catalyst for the initiative, driving the deep private investment required to construct and operate these facilities.

The first lot will support up to four projects, each eligible for up to €100 million in EU funding in phase one and up to an additional €400 million per project in phase two. Each Gigafactory selected in this lot must deploy at least as many of the most advanced AI processors as are currently installed in Europe's most powerful AI factory. In phase two, capacity must increase to at least three times that level. The second lot will support up to three projects, each eligible for up to €200 million of EU funding in phase one and up to an additional €800 million per project in phase two. Each Gigafactory selected in this lot must deploy up to twice as many of the most advanced AI processors as are currently installed in Europe's most powerful AI factory. In phase two, capacity must increase to at least four times that level.

Hardware for the AI Continent

Advanced AI depends on highly specialised computing hardware. As global AI adoption accelerates, access to large-scale sovereign AI infrastructure is becoming increasingly important for Europe's industrial competitiveness and technological sovereignty

AI Gigafactories consortia may procure hardware during any of the two development phases of the AI Gigafactory from any hardware providers in Europe or likeminded countries. Part of this procurement may be dedicated to European start-ups and scale ups, with the AI Gigafactories providing concrete opportunities to strengthen the European digital supply chain. At the same time, and as a follow up of the EU-US trade deal, the Commission has signed three letters of intent with major US hardware providers, AMD, NVIDIA and Qualcomm to ensure consortia have seamless access to necessary hardware.

Next steps

The call closes on 12 November 2026.

Following an evaluation process managed by the EuroHPC JU, award decisions are expected by early 2027. The necessary framework and specific contracts will then be signed to allow construction to begin in 2027.

Selected AI Gigafactories are expected to begin operations within a maximum of 18 months from the signature.

AST SpaceMobile Announces Completion of Private Offering of $1.15 Billion of Convertible Senior Notes Due 2034

Strengthens balance sheet with over $3.8 billion in pro forma cash, cash equivalents, and restricted cash as of June 30, 2026

Structured efficiently with 1.625% interest rate and $149.20 effective conversion price with effective dilution of less than 2%

MIDLAND, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (“AST SpaceMobile”) (NASDAQ: ASTS), the company building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network accessible directly by everyday smartphones, designed for both commercial and government applications, today announced the closing of $1.0 billion aggregate principal amount of 1.625% convertible senior notes due 2034 (the “notes”), and the exercise in full of the initial purchasers’ option to purchase an additional $150.0 million principal amount of notes (the “option notes”). The settlement for the option notes is expected to occur on July 22, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. As part of the transaction, AST SpaceMobile purchased a capped call hedge to increase the effective conversion price to $149.20 per share.

"This financing allows us to pursue an expanding universe of growth opportunities, continue vertical integration, and secure additional access to orbit for our space-based cellular network," said Scott Wisniewski, President of AST SpaceMobile.

Andy Johnson, Chief Financial Officer of AST SpaceMobile, added: "The notes have our lowest coupon ever at 1.625% and have an effective conversion price of $149.20 per share, well above our all-time high stock price, providing cost-efficient capital with effective dilution of less than 2%."

As a result of the related capped call transactions, dilution or cash obligations upon a conversion of the notes should be mitigated by the increase in the effective conversion price of the notes. AST SpaceMobile has the optionality to settle any conversions in cash, shares of its Class A common stock, or a combination of cash and shares to further influence potential dilution or cash obligations upon any future conversion of the notes.
