Looking for help / suggestions

Our old fabric gazebo was flattened by the snow this winter and I've since torn it down. I'd like to replace it, but the overhang from our roof makes anything other than a flat top a bit tricky to wedge in.

The old one was 10x10. I'd have to downsize or go with a flat top to fit anything else store-bought in.

Trying to decide what to do. Build from the existing posts (3rd pic before I took them down), a new pergola / gazebo, or try to have something built onto the deck.

Just looking for suggestions.

First service

I'm just about to pass the ballpark 3000 km break in period On my c8. I've heard differing opinions when it comes down to when to take it in for your first service. Some say 800 km some say stick to the regular warranty schedule. I plan on bringing it down to a beginners drag event in a few weeks. Would it be ideal to have my first service done before that?

Question about Nomad vs Mandalay

I've not been able to play the update yet as I've been away, but I do keep my eye on the reddit threads when I can.

I'm still relatively new, but I've outfitted my Mandalay for exploration and I do exobio when I come across a suitable planet.

How is the Nomad compared to the Mandalay for the exploration / exobio purpose? Either way, I'll be using the Mandalay until the Nomad is available for credits, but just wondering if it will render my Mandalay obsolete in some capacities.

Thanks!

How do you find the durability?

New c8 owner here and surrounded by the most atrocious roads outside of the city you will ever see currently. Had to take a trip between cities and can't help feeling like I damaged the shit out of it (didn't, but still feels like I put it through a lot)

How do you find the durability of your c8 matched up against potholes / rough roads? Any critical failures that you've come across?

Traded up

Said goodbye to my clean, white 2001 c5 and hello to the upgrade. (I will still absolutely miss my c5)

Custom seats / seat covers?

Has anyone had some quality seat covers / upholstery work done to their 1lt or bland interior?

How well did you negotiate?

Just curious what others' experiences were with haggling on the sticker price, more so on a base stingray.

Originally I've been shopping for just a base 1lt stingray. Would like a 2lt, but don't need much for a summer car that I'll only be driving 4-5 months out of the year.

Found most of the base sticker prices at $92-94k+ CAD, but not the color I'm looking for.

The only one I did find in the color I want is a z51 at $106k sticker price, which I got down to $94k flat. (I'll likely pick it up this week). I wasn't in the market for a z51, but I would have been adding a new exhaust anyway. They'll also take my c5 trade in for what I want to get.

What kind of success did you have with negotiations on a base?

Another couple exploration questions

Still new. Still new at exploring.

I recently started using my SRV while exploring and exobio. I've been noticing how much I've missed out up till now (no regrets. Discovering along the way the proper way).

Recently I've also dabbled in exploring some of the unexplored signals in space. A couple times it's been wakes a few times it's debris.

Is it part of your regular exploration to discover these? Are there benefits other than the possible recovery of items?

Also, when the time comes that I do discover a new system, without a nav beacon... Will I know it's undiscovered? I mean will it show a lack of "discovered by" info and that's my indication?

Thanks again.

Ground combat experiences

I've been branching out in this game over the last couple months, but don't have a crazy amount of time in yet. I've been using the CGs to help explore different avenues of the game and have been absolutely loving everything about ED. I have 7 ships that all serve their purpose.

With that being said I'm still wanting to dabble into combat / on-foot endeavours, but pretty inexperienced and curious about paths to take.

What are my options like? Are there good lawful ways to go about infiltration or combat? What is it like to be a pirate / smuggler? How risky are assassination missions? And what kind ramifications with enforcement / reputation / bounties should I be aware of?

(I'm sure there's a lot of YouTube vids on these topics, but I really enjoy hearing answers from the actual community!)

Just wondering about the price

2023 Stingray 3LT with 3000km on it. 89k CAD. Most of what I'm seeing other than this are 1LTs for the same if not more or higher km's.

Is there something with this model / year that is undesirable? Or should I be asking deeper questions on it?

Currently have a C5 and have been window shopping for the most part, but may pull the trigger on one here shortly.

Just wondering what you guys think as I'm not as familiar with the newer ones.

Questions for a new explorer

Hey all, I've been dabbling in a bit of everything the last few months and I'm looking into exploration accompanied by exobio when the opportunity may arise.

A few questions... Scanning the nav beacon seems like a quick, easy, cheesy way of registering a system, no? Is there benefit to still traveling to the individual planets in that system?

Also, I see little blips of nebula or distant star clusters while within a system sometimes. Are these reachable or they're just backdrop?

When people are talking about long distance treks, do they just mean jumping from system to system or are people actually super cruising beyond charted areas? (if that makes sense?)

Thanks in advance!
