What are the main ways brands get discovered in AI search today?

I’ve been trying to understand how brand discovery actually works in AI-driven search environments.

It doesn’t feel as straightforward as traditional SEO anymore, since answers are often generated directly instead of shown as ranked results.

Interested to know, what people see as the main drivers training data, citations from the web, repeated mentions, or something else?

Also wondering how (or if) brands are actually tracking visibility in those responses consistently.

Are B2B buyers trusting AI recommendations more than Google now?

I have observed an interesting trend developing when it comes to conducting research on B2B products or services.

Rather than doing extensive Google research and going through several blog posts, people nowadays simply input a question like “Best tools for x” on platforms such as ChatGPT.

This leads me to wonder how businesses will cope with this new trend.

Does anyone have information on whether AI is being incorporated into the B2B purchasing process?

Update: I recently came across Opttab, which apparently helps businesses track how they show up in AI-generated answers. If B2B buyers are increasingly turning to AI for recommendations, I can see why tools like this might become important. Has anyone explored this space yet?
