Thought this was an interesting read from Jeff Kassouf with the U20 World Cup coming up in a few weeks (September 5th-27th), which will certainly have some NWSL players feature in it.
The US hasn't won a women's U20 World Cup since 2012, and they have never won a women's U17 World Cup. Hayes believes the U-20 and U-17 World Cups will be essential for top U.S. players to experience if the Americans are to continue to be successful in future World Cup cycles -- 2031 and beyond. The United States Under-17 Women’s National Team has named 24 players for a training camp and matches that will serve as the final preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco in October.

Who do you have your eye on? I looked only at seniors/juniors but there could certainly be some freshman and sophomores that make the jump to pro after 1 or 2 seasons in college.

Otto was selected 11th overall in the 2021 Draft by Racing Louisville, and went on to make 11 appearances for the club. She was also a national team replacement for Gotham in 2023 during the World Cup, and has some US U20 and U23 experience.
As a Canadian I am always curious the calibre of players we are signing in the NSL as the league is so new. Any insight on her? She played collegiately at North Carolina.
We all know knee injuries, especially ACL tears, are an epidemic within the women's game. I wanted to look at the number of players who were placed on SEI for a knee related injury within the past 4 seasons in the NWSL.

Canada Soccer has appointed Eleri Earnshaw as an Assistant Coach with Canada’s Women’s National Team.
Earnshaw joins Canada Soccer after five seasons with Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). She brings 18 years of coaching experience across the professional, collegiate and youth levels, including international coaching experience with the Wales Women’s National Team and the United States Women’s U-20 National Team. Her coaching career also includes roles with Fordham University, LIU Brooklyn, Yale University and NJ/NY Gotham FC Reserves.
Chicago has lost 11 times this season, and has been shutout in every single one of those losses. They have only scored 8 goals total in 15 matches, 4 of which were from Huitema.
With the Huitema ACL tear and Swanson now being out with a knee injury the only other players who have scored for Chicago this season are Tessa Dellarose, Nadia Gomes and Sam Staab. Dellarose also hasn't played since May 3rd.

Per Boston Legacy FC: On July 9, Boston Legacy FC forward Fauzia Najjemba suffered a rupture of her right rectus femoris tendon during a team training session. Najjemba will be re-evaluated biweekly by Dr. Kelly McInnis of Massachusetts General Brigham during her rehabilitation. Najjemba will be placed on the Season-Ending Injury List and is expected to make a full recovery.
