First time cloning off my mother plant of cultivar “Luna”

My gymnos are budding a ton right now

A nice emerald green mystery seedling from Misplant seeds. Very pach looking thus far. Not sure what all potential parents this could even be. Either way I have one grafted to this grandi and one indoors under grow lights on its own roots. Curious to see the growth differences a few months down the road.

I’ve come to really like the gymnocalycium genus! Always on the lookout for an interesting new one that catches my eye

Seems the center of the graft stock just dried down too much and never really made good contact even with wrapping it and holding it down. So what’s my next options? Should I try some slab grafts? Recut and retry? Maybe try splitting this TBM into a couple different smaller pieces? This is my only piece of TBM I currently have so trying to work with this one. Maybe I should just let it callus and try to root it out? What do you guys think?
