Urgent help needed temporary accommodation. Suiderhof, Pioneerspark, Olympia, Cimbebasia, Kleine Kuppe etc.

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here might be able to point us in the right direction.

We’re a quiet, responsible couple urgently looking for a small backyard flat, granny flat, or similar temporary accommodation.

We’re private people, don’t party, don’t have lots of visitors, and take pride in looking after wherever we stay.

We do have pets, including cats, who are well-behaved and very much part of our family. 🐾 We’re specifically hoping to find an animal-loving owner who is comfortable with pets.

Our animals are cared for and we don’t allow them to roam around or disturb neighbours.

We’re looking for something temporary while we arrange our longer-term accommodation. We’re happy to meet in person and provide more information privately to anyone with a genuine lead.

If you know of anything available, even something that isn’t currently advertised.

Any leads would be incredibly appreciated. 🙏

Warning: Don't message me, if you're a scammer. ⚠️

Anyone who has a private property to rent out to responsible tenants? Preferably in Olympia, Kleine Kuppe, Suiderhof. (Pet friendly to both dogs and cats)

Hi everyone! 😊

Is there anyone here who rents out private property, or perhaps knows someone who does?

We’re a quiet, responsible family looking for a place to rent. We don’t party, don’t have lots of people coming and going, and generally keep to ourselves.

We do have well-behaved pets, but they are cared for and aren’t left unattended for hours. 🐾

We’re simply looking for a safe, quiet place where we can be good tenants and hopefully find owners who are also responsible and reasonable.

I know rental prices are high and times are difficult, but I’m hoping there might still be someone out there offering a more affordable private rental.

If you know of anything suitable, even something small or simple, please feel free to reach out. We’d really appreciate any leads. ❤️

Digital IDs . What do you think/feel about it?

I personally don't understand why it's so urgent and necessary no one asked for it.

Why should we have this? Not even America has it (unless I'm mistaken)

Why us? It's like someone offering you a solution to a problem you didn't think you had.

I'm just here living my life and have no issue with my current ID. Now I'm told I should get something else when I'm happy with what I have.

I also feel forced, is this mandatory or can I decide to not have it?

What's your thoughts/feelings on it? Do you want it? Do you think you need it?

Edit: What makes this more suspicious to me is Namibia made a billion dollar China the very same country that controls their own citizens.

Rental sold by owner. Anybody have a small room to rent out that's pet friendly here in Windhoek.

Hi everyone,

We're looking for a safe, private, pet-friendly room or backyard flat like a granny flat or something to rent for approximately for 6 months stay.

If you know of anyone who has a room available, or if you're willing to rent one out, we'd really appreciate it.

Our previous rental was sold, so we've had to move into temporary accommodation, but it's unfortunately too expensive to stay there long-term.

We're therefore looking for something more affordable while we get back on our feet.

We're only looking for a simple one-room place private bathroom. We have a few small pets, but they're very gentle, well-behaved, and kept on our side of the property, so they don't usually bother anyone.

Please no recommendations for guesthouses or Airbnbs, as those are outside our budget.

Thank you so much. 🙏

Message me privately.

Would like to stay in Suiderhof, Olympia or even Pioneerspark but open to hear what's available.

To be closer to co working spaces and utilities.

Please help a family in crises. 2 people. No kids.

Sober habits.

America after Namibian agriculture

Hi guys,

I've seen this video on Facebook concerning American interest of Namibian agriculture.Video

It's not my video I'm not promoting it but I thought its serious to share what could happen if America takes over the Namibian agriculture or resources.

Was I brainwashed/lied to as a kid?

I grew up around the idea that men are protective. Protective of their women, protective of their family. Anything that belongs to them.

I naively assumed all men were raised with this standard. Only to marry a man who's not.

I had to stand up towards his mother, I had to teach him to set boundaries with her or anybody whether its friends who are being disrespectful.

If anybody is being bad towards us. Whether its a service provider. I go ahead give them bad reviews or stand up for myself. For us. He doesn't do anything and if he does its because I asked him to.

He gets treated unfairly at work? He says nothing.

He is very understanding and patient towards others but with me, he is quick to tell me off if I say something he doesnt like. He is quick to be defensive, quick to correct me ect.

As someone who grew up around men including my grandfather, my father and even an ex boyfriend who were men you wouldn't mess with. I find this adjustment very difficult to cope with.

I went from being protected by men all my life. To this. I at times feel I need to protect him, myself even sometimes I need to protect myself from him. He isn't harming me physically but mentally I sometimes find myself trying to tell him ahead of time what my boundaries are what he should or shouldnt do so I can feel safe with him.

I even asked him if its a safe space to share my thoughts/feelings with him due to his defensiveness.

I don't know what to do in a marriage where I feel like this. I don't know how to cope.

To someone else this isn't a big deal but to me it makes me not feel relaxed and safe with him.

I feel more masculine as a woman now than I ever did before. I use to be so soft and feminine.

Why is nobody doing anything about the rental situation in Windhoek? It seems that those in power have control over housing in Windhoek and its only preserved for a few privileged and well-connected.

Every real estate agent just keep telling us there's no rentals.

Something feels really off about this whole situation. A real estate agent assistant told us there's rentals open then I called the real estate agent then she says there's nothing.

I have a suspicion that people are gatekeeping here in Windhoek because if there were truly nothing available a lot of people would be out on the streets.

This world is showing me that if you are not well connected you will suffer in this life.

You won't get jobs. You won't get housing. Unless you're rich or corrupted.

I'm starting to not feel home in my own country. If I can't get a basic human need met like housing. Now I'm forced to buy small townhosues for 2 million or houses for 3.3 million.

Are there really only rich people in Windhoek? What happened to the middle class?

EDIT: I know this post may come across as really angry/ accusatory but the situation is really bad and I've truly reached my boiling point. To feel stranded in your own country and nothing is being done about it can drive anybody insane.

Any remote companies in Namibia?

Hi does anybody know of remote companies in Namibia hiring?

For graphic design, web design and website development jobs?

Its my dream to work remotely as a creative, a 9 to 5 office job and work culture isn't for everyone especially not me.

I can't stand the noise and busy life outside and enjoy working in quiet spaces by myself.

I've worked remote in the past and I work better this way. I find myself being more productive this way and less distracted.

I get drained very easily working at an office due to lots of noise and people walking around and talking.

I'm not anti-social but remote work helps me have meetings online away from noise but alone time in between.

Why did they introduce remote work during the pandemic and now we got use to it some of us now its back to office work strictly?

I understand we all can't work remotely but some of us don't fit into that narrow box in society.

We are all different.

What do I do about a really bad experience I have a real estate agent in Windhoek?

She and the owner of the place wants to get us out of our rental as soon as possible because they are selling.

We've experienced so much pressure for multiple viewings that they had 3 people viewing the place in 1 hour while we only agreed 2. She also wanted a client to view on Saturday after already 3 people viewed.

She even thought we agreed to viewings in 3 consecutive days which isn't what we agreed to.

We still live in the rental but it's as if we are treated like we are already suppose to be out.

And when they sell, they want to give us 2 months notice but the way they are pressuring us its like they don't care about us anymore.

How can I give them a bad review or let people know about them without getting legal issues?

I feel like I need to warn people because people get away with these things and nobody knows about it.

Tired of this society. 😫

Try getting a job - Job market sucks.

People don't want to pay you a living wage. I get asked my desired salary or rates I get ghosted if it's not below living wage.

I'm applying to 100s of jobs and don't get any responses other than we've moved onto the next candidates or we will keep you on file.

Meanwhile, bills don't care about the job market. Everyday life is getting more and more expensive.

Rent is expensive. Basic food for nutrition is expensive.

Is life on earth even enjoyable anymore?

This capitalist system is making us all poor, because our ability to survive is outside of our control like the economy or the job market.

What kind of world is this?

What kind of life is this?

This system only works for the rich, corrupted few.

The real estate agent asked us at the beginning of the year if we wanted to renew our rental contract. We said yes now she's selling it.

You know how difficult it is to get rentals in Windhoek especially pet friendly rentals. We have pets and because of that people already don't want to consider us.

Now at the beginning of the year the real estate agent asked us if we wanted to renew our contract, we said yes on email.

Now suddenly a month ago she informed us the owner is selling the place. It took us 2 years to finally find this rental. In a safe complex that's pet friendly. She will only give us 2 months to move out if they find a seller.

I know people can sell, but it makes me feel she did us wrong, why didn't she tell us at the beginning of the year they also never gave us a renewed contract since the time she asked if we wanted it renewed and we've been living here month to month.

So they could get us out anytime they want if we don't have an actual contract.

I had such a bad experience with this real estate agent and the owner but I don't know how we will manage to get a new rental in 2 months even 6 months time.

Windhoek rentals aren't even posted, people just give it to people they know, I have seen and heard this before.

They didn't even advertise the place we are currently in but they found people to come view it.

I don't know what to do, feels like I'll be homeless in a few months even sooner due to fewer rentals being posted.

Not those houses that go for 30k and up. That's the rentals they post.

😫

My client wants to get free branding work from me. What to do I tell him without being rude?

My client says he will get work in for us and I will get paid once he gets paid clients but in the meanwhile he wants me to do free branding and a logo.

How do I talk to him or convince him that this should be paid work?

I really can't afford to do free work, I have to put food on the table and I'm already struggling as it is due to not getting work.

Help guys, what do I tell the client not to chase him away but for him to reconsider and wanting to pay me?

I see everyone else getting jobs in other industries. I'm just here staring at my pc screen, thinking about my life choices.

For someone like me who's reliable, loves the work itself and enjoy giving a client great work and services to be here with nothing when I know I have something to offer and just need to be given a chance.

People no longer want to hire remotely and just want to work with people based on location. I don't work with local clients in my area because the pay is so low here and demand is low as well.

I even asked people if I can do paid tasks to prove what I can do for them, doesn't help.

I've knew since I was a child aged 7 I am a creative person. I was more into art but I knew that it won't pay my bills so I thought graphic design would. How silly of me.

My parents wanted me to have a traditional career and I kind of went against their wish for me and look at me now guys feeling like a complete failure and disappointment to my parents who raised me well so I can succeed in life 😫. Just here receiving rejection emails or like the occasional we'll keep you on file.

This industry is so tough to get hired, I might as well have tried to become a doctor.

I'm trying to build skills in other industries currently but you know you can't be learning new skills in 1 day.

I can't even be a waitress, I saw the other day they wanted a waitress that has 5 years of experience. Where do people get experience. Do you just wake up one day and pretend to know everything.

I'm lost honestly. We can't work because nobody wants to give us a chance and we have to be here struggling asking help from family and friends just to survive.

What kind of life is this?

About 2 years ago, a client hired me on Upwork for a packaging design project. The agreed budget was $450, but partway through the project she abruptly paused it and only paid me $120. The way it ended made me feel like she wasn’t happy with my work, so I just accepted it and moved on.

Recently, I came across her product and she’s using my design. It’s slightly modified, but the core concept is clearly mine.

At the time, I made the mistake of sending her the AI file when she asked for it, so she had full access to everything. I didn’t think much of it back then, but now I feel like I basically handed over my work to be used without proper payment or credit.

This isn’t the first time I feel like a client has “picked my brain” or taken ideas without fully committing, and it’s starting to make me question myself and my boundaries.

I’m struggling with a few things:

- Is it fair for me to feel like this is wrong, or is this just how things go sometimes?

- Can I still include this work in my portfolio, even though it was used without full payment or credit?

- How do I protect myself better from this happening again?

I feel like I lost out on both proper pay and potential recognition, and it’s hard not to take that personally.

Edit: It literally feels I can't even use my own design now on my portfolio and I didn't sign any NDA with her but I don't know if I'm allowed to use my own work publicly because it's altered. While someone took my ideas.

Any advice or similar experiences would really help.

Client's product is now a success with my design she altered while I'm here without work, without portfolio items from the work or anything to show for.

This isn't the first time but this is the worst that happened to me, my other client paid me in full atleast who also picked my brain and changed my design idea.
