Deanna + Noah: WHY

Deanna + Noah: WHY

The Gatekeepers podcast brought up that Deanna’s in college and in a sorority and there are frat boys and hot Banneker men everywhere. She’s very attractive and hides her crazy ghost dad visions pretty well and anyway most people aren’t going to know about those details if they’re not from FC.

So like WHY is she choosing Noah to fawn over? Is there something in it for her? HELP ME UNDERSTAND!!

Bill Is Acting A Fool w His Kids

Who but the worst most trifling parent would tell the kids to call before coming by because the step parent said so. I am so hurt for Chelsea and Naomi! I liked him overall but this hurts on a personal level. Idc how old kids be that is a “many years of therapy” traumatic moment at minimum

Name a More Nothingburger Character Who Was On for FOUR YEARS

I didn’t think about him ever on first watch except as a catalyst for Kristen being crazy over a guy (again). On re-watch, it gets to S8 and like, this Carter BS is STILL going on? No one wanted to hang out with him, no one cared about his presence, the girls were so over Kristen’s two-faced BS about him.

FOUR SEASONS of the most nothingburger character ever, either discussed or outright lurking in EVERY EPISODE.

New Sitcoms to Watch?

We’ve been off streaming and it’s summer but the OG sitcom post got me thinking about what’s coming out now that’s new and exciting. It seems like a lot of the comedy space is kind of dominated by Tyler Perry which feels too (repetitive?) to me in 2026. And a lot of comics are opting to do standup specials now where you can still see black humor, Latino, Asian, etc where it’s less generic. I know The Neighborhood ended and other shows featuring diverse lead comics. But like where’s our Chapelle Show, Bernie Mac, DL Hughley and Martin Lawrence lol!

So… are full sitcoms like that a of the past?? Again, don’t have streaming stuff but might be willing to if the right edgier shows are out but I don’t hear a lot of buzzing about anything yet (besides the 3 mentioned below).

2026 Essentials:
Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Abbot Elementary, Crutch (Tracy Morgan out there doing the most)

REWATCH: Unfiltered Notes on a Few Key Things

EDIT 2: Today’s Pluto follow-up: SMITTY BLACKMAILS MARCEL WITH THE BRIBE EVIDENCCE HE DIG UP!

Found a BTG channel on Pluto! Put it on while doing chores but found myself taking notes. V interesting stuff! AMA if you want more deets. Here’s some of my notes:

• Leslie taunts Kat A LOT, very mean girl. Kat has very specific reasons to hate Leslie.

• Leslie threatens Kat & Jacob w a lawsuit from Bill if they don’t stop stalking her in their investigation.

• HUGE long-running storyline seems to be dropped: Joey’s payouts to Elon & Marcel— Smitty and Jacob were onto it. The payouts started before KKKenny, there was the big one for the original coverup but that’s been happening before that.

• Something always felt a little “off” about Madison’s motives jumping in hard w Chelsea.

• Bill tells Vernon he can go back to his “black excellence” 😂 u/MaterpieceAwkward70

• Ashley and Derek are SO much more annoying than we remembered.

• Derek and Jacob did hang out a lot. Jacob also hung out with André 1:1 back then.

• Vanessa hard negotiated her way into a large cut of Joey’s business and wanted it for her & Doug. “I’m unfaithful, not disloyal.” I think she’s probably still running this plot to grift Joey— possibly knows Doug’s alive? Idk but her behavior now makes sense if it’s still part of the grift.

• Vernon was a much stronger character. Threatens to ruin Bill Hamilton. Screams at someone over the phone (who?) over losing track of KKKenny.

• Hayley makes sinister faces and actions before her reveal, great Easter egg for re-watchers. Honeymoon was cut short, she was visibly relieved. Particularly hilarious eye roll after his stroke.

• Plus she lays it on so thick, CLASSIC love bombing. The slideshow, the entire fake pregnancy, it’s all trying to trauma bond.

• Nicole ain’t fixed shit since that famous line.

• Tomas sucks up to Vernon + Elon. Vernon and Elon’s connection deserves back story.

• Tomas is 100% dating Kat for his career and Kat is 100% trying to get the W over Eva. Kat didn’t want to have sex with him and never called him her boyfriend before she said it to Eva. Tomas swooped in at the lowest point in her life, she even says so.

• Dani and Bill have so many heart-to-hearts, in retrospect them hooking up was in fact inevitable (but I still hate it).

• Eva gets in Kat’s face every time she confronts Eva about her shady actions leading to the Anniversary party. Eva never admitted to wrongdoing but she for sure knows she did wrong, she expresses remorse to Nicole and Ted but doesn’t confess to anything illegal.

• The Duprees have this KKKenny incident over Joey I forgot that. Joey says so to Elon & Marcel.

• Tomas actually does like Eva more. Kat sees them interacting and decides sex right afterwards.

Edit: Changed a “he” to “Joey” bc it was confusing.

Rage of the Day

This coma is absolute rage bait. And I think this post fits the rules because the rage is entirely about Ted Fukkin Richardson.

I HATE Ted. I’ve hated him since the Wigs reveal that she was blackmailing him (pre-Anniversary). He’s never been a great husband, father, uncle, partner, friend, or human to anyone.

This coma nightmare actually may have been what Ted wanted if Nicole hadn’t announced she was pregnant with Kat. Yes it’s not reality but his actions re: Leslie/Eva since the beginning have been consistent with him actually having some love for Leslie, and wanting Eva (who he didn’t know about IRL until she was grown). Like he had to banish Wigs in the beginning because he didn’t trust himself not to go back, not that he cared so much about Nicole/Kat. He would not be taking his son as a cover to some waitress house if he cared in the first place PERIOD.

He made zero effort with Nicole after they split. Zero. I remember being super disgusted about him last year waiting for him to come around, and he just got with the hot nurse instead. He’s even made more effort with Leslie than Shanice imo. His big Shanice effort was telling her Aunt to talk to her. OMG!!

He’s probably made less than zero effort with Kat. Like he got the daughter with Wigs and now he doesn’t need Kat. It felt so accurate to how he might have acted if events happened in the order they did in the coma. The man can’t stop himself from trying to force some sisterhood on Kat at every turn, like do her feelings and complicated emotions mean nothing to you TED?!

So I’m totally disgusted that she would donate to Eva FOR HIM! Do it for yourself, for the Grands, for Jesus/Buddha/whoever but WHY TED? HE IS THE ONE WHO RUINED YOUR LIFE/FAMILY! Only him! Leslie may have been a side piece but Ted was the one with the family and the responsibility to keep himself in line AND HE DID NOT!!!

Ok just needed to get this off my chest for a sec.

Fans Have Spoken: 58% Believe Kat Should Have Donated

Initially the fandom was split, but Yes won out. The poll started before Kat had decided and I voted No because I wanted it to be her decision and people to leave her be. It looks like a lot of ppl agreed with that because Yes took off after she decided she would do it.

UPDATE: This Was Hurled at the TV Several Times Over Dani/Bill’s Antics

LOL I’m probably more mad than Andre will be!

In all seriousness last week was the most fun I’ve ever had with any show ever. AND, we pulled in 4 friends who had never watched for a Sunday binge of the week and they are now hooked 😂. Just trying to explain the back story was so fun. They disliked Ashley immediately with no back story too.

Chadwick Farley AKA Liam

He’s got the same name as the Legendary Mr. Bozeman. I’ve got a good feeling about him idk what it is.

Character theories today: any of them actually seem believable?

There are so many theories flying around right now about what happened in the warehouse, why it happened, and who was involved. Donell, Elon, Kat, Tomas, Bill, Marcel, etc. Most of them seem way off to me.

Does anyone think somebody has actually pieced together the real story yet? Curious which theories people think are most likely and why.

EDIT: Or any other theories floating around that are out there but could have merit? Someone at work said they thought it was Dr. Monica — THAT would be a massive shock but I can’t rule it out. I don’t even think anyone would suspect her.
