Combo Feeding = More Allergies?

Combo Feeding = More Allergies?

Hi all! I am combo feeding my second baby - one month in and just doing my best to hang in there - and I came across this 2019 study that suggested combo feeding is increasing my baby’s risk of developing an allergy. Can anyone find anything that indicates that this is not as big a deal as it is in my head right now? Or someone who is better at reading studies tell me what this means or if I should stop?

Pediatrician thinks combo feeding, or breastfeeding, or formula feeding is all fine as long as baby is gaining weight and healthy, so I am probably freaking out over nothing. But like - all the pumping and trying to nurse to the limited degree that I can - am I making things WORSE???

Mansfield Park - What is the contemporary equivalent of them doing amateur theatre?

Ok, so, we know Jane liked the theater and that some forms of it were considered great, but we also know that a bunch of young people putting on a play at home without the supervision of the elder generation, especially a play about romance, was considered a little sketchy.

My question is, what is the modern day equivalent of this? I have been trying to reframe it for myself for years because otherwise I just get so annoyed with Fanny’s disapproval, and her disappointment at Edmund’s participation despite the fact that he too doesn’t consider it totally appropriate ( but ultimately has the hots for Mary so he’s gonna do it anyway under the guise of “keeping an eye on the others,” lol).

It’s clear they don’t want Sir Thomas to come home to find what they’re doing and that they’re all using the play to pursue their own romantic desires etc etc.- what would this be now? The only thing I can think of is like, an amateur adult film? What do you guys think? Just trying to imagine something that would be could be considered either shocking or artistic? (This is not to knock adult films, amateur or otherwise- just trying to imagine different points of view!)

Has Anyone Seen This Movie?

Ok so this movie came out in 1999 and NO ONE saw it, I caught it late on night on hbo or something in the early 2000s and it is SO GOOD. It’s free on YouTube right now and I need more people to see it. Why?

-it’s so quickly especially for its time. There’s voiceover narration, Characters Representing Your Thoughts convo, a tiny bit of meta stuff

-one brother wrote and starred in it and another brother directed which is so fun

-the leads are excellent, they have AMAZING chemistry and guess what??? THEY FELL IN LOVE FOR REAL AND ARE STILL MARRIED IN 2026

-Bernadette Peter plays the hero’s Mom and she is perfection (as always)

-Stephen Colbert is randomly in it as “happy successful guy” 🤣

Anyway that’s my PSA. It’s 90 minutes of your life for this tiny movie made by people who seemed to really LOVE what they are making. It’s magical. 🩷

Iron Supplement Recs?

I’m 22 weeks and just found out severely anemic and have to take iron - I know this isn’t super uncommon, but the iron pills on top of HG are absolutely killing me. My HG symptoms had started to become a little more livable at 20 weeks, but this shit is taking me back square one in terms of nausea, in addition to requiring more MiraLAX to combat constipation, and WILD gas 😂😂😂 (My four year old is like “mommy why are you stinky???”

Does anyone have any specific recommendations? I’m reading that gentler formulas exist - does anyone have one they like? Honestly if it were just a risk to me, I’m at the point where I’d say screw it and not take iron supplements because it feels SO SO SO BAD - but my levels were low enough that it could hurt the baby if I don’t fix it, and I want this baby so so so so much.

Help!
