NUROPOD VS PULESTTO

I am dealing with gastritis and functional dyspepsia. My main problem is nausea and weight loss from getting full too early. I also have a TENS 7000 but I don’t feel comfortable using it because there’s too many variables which is why I’m looking at pulsetto or nuropod . What device would be best for me and my situation? Thanks

Will Mirtazapine Help Severe Weight Loss and Chronic Nausea?

I’m on the fence about starting mirtazapine for persistent nausea and being about 30 pounds under my normal weight. I recently tried nortriptyline, but the side effects were too severe, and around the same time I had a major flare that caused me to lose another 10 pounds.

I’d prefer to heal naturally if possible, but I’m very open to mirtazapine if it could help me eat and regain weight. I’m giving my stomach one more week before deciding.

Has anyone taken mirtazapine for functional dyspepsia, gastritis, or chronic nausea? Did it help with nausea, appetite, and weight gain? My biggest concern is triggering another flare because I really can’t afford to lose any more weight.

I NEED CALORIES

I’ve had gastritis for four months now and the end isn’t anywhere in sight. I keep losing weight every single day and I am now down 30 pounds. I tried different foods, but they cause flares and I can’t afford to have another flare because they last days and then I lose even more weight. The only foods I can safely eat are Applesauce, banana, egg white, potato, olive oil, white rice. That’s the only thing I’ve been eating and able to eat.

I’ve tried Ensure, Cheerios, Unseasoned chicken, blended chicken, Kate farms nutrition drink, just all of that stuff and my stomach will just get mad or flare up so bad. I don’t know what to do and I don’t want to keep losing weight but I also don’t want to try something just to get another flare.

I’ve been dealing with this for a while but now I just feel like I’m back in the first month. Has anyone else lost 30+lbs and how did you get that weight back?

LOSING PROGRESS

Over the course of the past three months, I’ve lost 30 pounds, but I was starting to be able to eat foods like unseasoned chicken and white rice. The problem was I wasn’t getting enough calories in, and I’m still not, so I tried to get more calories by drinking Ensure and eating Cheerios. I also took a new medicine. All these things I did to help with calories, but it caused a bad flare-up and caused me to lose a whole bunch of progress and flare up so badly to where it felt like one of the first few weeks of this. This was more discouraging because the last time I flared up, I probably had 20+ more pounds than I do right now. When I flare up now, I generally feel like I’m just going to wither away.

Despite all that, I really don’t want to give up, but I just want to know how realistic and how long it really takes to get better if it’s even possible to have a full recovery. I’m really big into coasters, amusement parks, and foods, and gastritis is everything against that. The only hobbies I like, I just worry I’ll never be able to do again.

Has anyone here made a full recovery from a post-viral chronic gastritis? Is there anyone who had a damaged vagus nerve causing constant nausea, and it’s been super debilitating, and I haven’t been able to do anything? Nausea has been my main symptom, causing me not to be able to do screens, go on walks, eat much, etc. I was wondering if any of you guys have dealt with the setbacks and gotten very discouraged. How did you continue to push forward? How long did it take, and how brutal were the setbacks?

Thanks for reading this

How did you heal Nausea?

People whose main symptoms were nausea to the point they couldn’t leave the house. What did you do to fix it?

There are many different symptoms. People with gastritis can experience but for me the main thing has been nausea. Anytime my body doesn’t like something it resorts to nausea.

Is there anyone who has had this for more than three months along with a chronic gastritis that was able to heal and make a full recovery? I’m talking about eat spicy food ride roller coaster type recovery too. Thanks

Is feeling Dizzy and feeling like I just got off a boat normal?

After taking nortryptiline I’ve been having that dizzy sensation. When I stand walk or move around I feel it and sometimes when I’m laying down I feel it too. I’m also very underweight due to a gastritis flare and not eating much so maybe it’s dehydration and malnutrition too. I’ve lost 25+lbs since March of this year and I was 160. Is it just me or is this normal?

Has Cheerios and Ensure Caused a bad flare?

Has anyone ever triggered a gastritis or functional dyspepsia flare from eating a large amount of Cheerios or drinking Ensure/nutrition shakes?

I was doing better, started eating a lot more Cheerios than usual, and was drinking 2-3 Ensure shakes per day to try to gain weight. Shortly after, I got hit with a pretty nasty flare that’s made eating much harder again.

If Cheerios or nutrition shakes have ever caused a flare for you, how long did it last before you got back to baseline?

TRAPPED in my own body!(Flare Ups & Hypersensitivity)

I am so tired of this.

Back in March I got sick and ever since then it feels like my stomach has completely controlled my life. I’ve lost almost 30 pounds, gone from 163 lbs to 135 lbs, and now every time I think I’m finally improving I get knocked right back down.

I’ve had bloodwork, an endoscopy with biopsies, tested negative for H. pylori, and have been working with doctors and a GI. At this point I’ve been told it’s likely gastritis, functional dyspepsia, or some kind of post-infectious stomach issue.

The frustrating thing is that this feels like so much more than just an irritated stomach. My whole system feels hypersensitive. I get nausea waves out of nowhere, motion can trigger symptoms, screens can trigger symptoms, and sometimes I feel like I’m about to throw up just from walking upstairs or trying to eat. It feels like my stomach and nervous system are constantly overreacting to everything.

This latest flare has been brutal. A week ago I was eating way more food and thought I was finally turning a corner. Now I’m back to struggling through rice and bananas. I’m constantly hungry, but the second I try to eat, the nausea kicks in. My stomach burns when it’s empty, aches throughout the day, and sometimes I feel like I’m going to throw up for absolutely no reason.

The most frustrating part is that I’m trying. I’ve changed my diet, taken the medications, and even tried nutrition shakes because I desperately need the calories. Instead of helping, the shakes seem to make me feel even worse.

I’m exhausted from analyzing every food, every symptom, and every flare. Exhausted from feeling weak and shaky because I can’t get enough calories in. Exhausted from thinking I’m finally getting my life back only to end up right back where I started.

I honestly don’t know what my stomach wants from me anymore.

Did Nortriptyline Make You Worse Before It Made You Better?

I’m taking 10mg nortriptyline for severe nausea and suspected functional dyspepsia/post-infectious stomach issues. I’m only 8 doses in, but honestly I feel worse than when I started. My nausea has been more intense, eating has been harder, and I’ve been feeling weak and discouraged.

For those who had success with nortriptyline, did you feel worse before you felt better? How long did it take before you started noticing relief, especially with nausea? I’m trying to decide whether this is just the adjustment period or a sign that the medication isn’t for me.

Trapped in my own body! Post-infectious Functional Dyspepsia? Constant Nausea, Screen Sensitivity, and Nortriptyline

Looking for some advice/experiences because I’m honestly getting worn down.
I was completely healthy until March. One day I got very sick (possibly food poisoning/gastroenteritis) and ever since then my life has been turned upside down.

My endoscopy showed mild chronic gastritis, but my symptoms seem way worse than what the findings would suggest. My main symptom is nausea. I get random nausea waves that can come out of nowhere and make me feel like I’m about to throw up. I feel trapped inside my own body.

Other symptoms:
Early satiety/fullness
Feeling stuffed after small meals
Motion sensitivity
Screen sensitivity (sometimes using a computer or watching movement on a screen can trigger symptoms)
Fatigue and feeling wiped out after symptom flares
Appetite comes and goes

The weirdest part is that I’ll start feeling better and think I’m finally turning a corner, then I’ll get slammed by another wave and feel like I’m back at square one.
I’ve been on a PPI (pantoprazole) for a while and recently my GI started me on nortriptyline because they’re thinking this may be more functional dyspepsia / visceral hypersensitivity than gastritis alone.

For those who have functional dyspepsia:
Did your symptoms start after food poisoning or a stomach bug?
Was nausea your main symptom?
Did you have motion sensitivity or screen sensitivity?
Did nortriptyline help, and if so how long did it take?
Did you eventually recover or at least get your life back?
Just looking for some hope and hearing from people who have been through something similar. Thanks for reading this!

Has any taken nortriptyline for functional dyspepsia after gastritis?

I have mild chronic gastritis, have been on a PPI, and my GI thinks a lot of my remaining symptoms are from stomach hypersensitivity/functional dyspepsia.

Main symptoms:
Nausea
Early fullness
Stomach discomfort
Motion sickness feeling

I’m on 10 mg nortriptyline (day 3).
Did it help? How long did it take? Did the side effects go away? Were you eventually able to eat normally again?

Does Nortriptyline Help?

Anyone here take nortriptyline for gastritis, functional dyspepsia, chronic nausea, or stomach hypersensitivity?

I just started 10 mg and so far I’ve mostly noticed drowsiness, brain fog, and feeling kind of out of it.

How long did it take before you noticed a difference?

Did it actually help your symptoms?

Did the side effects go away over time?

Was it worth it?

Mild Chronic Gastritis? There’s Nothing Mild About This

I’m honestly curious for people who have dealt with chronic gastritis… how long did it realistically take you to recover?

I’ve been dealing with this for almost 3 months now. My endoscopy found “mild patchy chronic superficial gastritis” in the antrum, but physically there has been absolutely nothing mild about this experience.

No ulcers, no masses, negative H. pylori biopsy, normal gastric emptying scan, CT scan and ultrasound were fine too. Yet somehow I still struggle daily with nausea, acid, food tolerance, and weight loss. I’ve lost 20+ pounds already and I was already a slimmer person to begin with.

I still can’t eat normal portions without feeling awful afterward. Sometimes even bland foods like rice make me suddenly feel like I’m going to throw up mid-meal. Riding in the car too long can make me nauseous. Some days even drinking too much water too fast feels bad.

The part that frustrates me the most is hearing the word “mild” when this has completely disrupted my life physically for months now.

For people who had chronic gastritis that actually affected their daily functioning like this, how long did it take before things consistently improved?
