Q Trials Borg Space is No Joke

Had a really good research run, unlocked tier 4 in most things. Winning fights at warp level one with Neelix, Tuvok and Janeway, adding Tuvix and K'Ellana, doing lots of wormholes and positive morale always.

Entered borg space with 500 science ready to spend. Single Borg Sphere smashes me apart I'm about 30 seconds, couldn't flee as engines killed

Exp from Battles

I think it's a shame that bridge crew used in combat don't get exp to level them up. I always seem to rotate the same handful of away mission crew because of the limited number across a campaign, and you can't level everyone up.

Doesn't need to be massive amounts like an away mission, and I know it could be abused to get level 10 crew early by hanging around in high-threat sectors fighting numerous ambushes, but I do think fighting all these battles should contribute something to their development.

I never send Klingon B'Ellana on away missions because of one time in my first playthrough where she got captured for several cycles, but considering her main role on ship is in a security room, it would make sense for all the battles to improve her security stat.

This might be sacrilege but...

I think I might prefer Human B'Ellana. Bringing along a medical stat is so useful, either as back up for another hero, or managing a check on her own.

Her and Chakotay cover all stats, then bring along whoever needs to increase skills.

I'm sure she and Harry are the best combo for Tuvok's three ensigns mission.

If only she could do B'Ellana story beats...

Does anyone know what the different options do? I would guess it slightly impacts his diplomacy or security stat but don't know.

I've made a manual save not long ago, so I can just try each one out to find out, but wondered if anyone knew.

Edit: Went and found out.

Weird issue vs Cullah

So I'm doing years of hell with Tuvix and human B'ellana, and I failed the fight with Cullah, and reloaded because i genuinely just did awfully.

I win second time, but because the sabotage isn't solved I somehow need to do the away mission, which i do successfully and I do not storm the bridge as I know that kills Seska, but after sorting out Jonas and Cullah, I don't get to even discuss Seska as though she died in the fight, so can't recruit her.

Really odd. I was hoping to get her as I need security staff.

Not sure if it's a bug or not

FITS thoughts

The recent gameplay trailer said there were four FITS: warrior, knight, black mage, and summoner

They told us what Cid and Vincent had, and we've seen Cloud and Tifa previously.

I wonder whether all four are available to each character, or whether there is only one each, and between all eight party members, you get two warriors, two knights, two black mages and two summoners.

How do I actually choose?

39M solo FTB. looking to buy this year slightly on a whim of "by the time I'm 40 and sod the cash ISA rules next year". The aim was "try and find the mythical forever home first go. Buy once and be done."

Started viewings on the 1st August and it's been a bit of a stop-start whirlwind. Viewed a lot of properties in a short space of time and ended up unable to choose between 2.

Property A - 11 years old, move-in ready, seller wants to leave a lot of their furniture behind, few streets away from where I've been renting quite complacently for 10 years. Ticks a lot of boxes and nicely finished but has a couple of compromises (smallish lounge and any WFH space will have to be in a spare bedroom). Ideally suited to adding solar panels which I definitely want at some stage. Doesn't feel like the forever home, but somewhere I could definitely exist for 5-10 years.

Property B - 1970s extended. Larger footprint and lounge big enough that WFH space could be in one corner. bigger mature gardens (more to look after, but nicer views out of the windows), location is in a village 5 mins out of town, so some things are a bit further away. Would need some things doing to it, refreshed floors, walls, loft insulation, maybe a bit of wiring to move plug sockets, and rooms were pretty warm due to south-facing garden, so some form of shutters maybe? Solar panels might be a bit trickier. 65k lower asking price (everyone writes their best number down and submits).

I've viewed both twice.

I tortured myself for a couple of days unable to decide. put an offer in on A that was rejected, and didn't put an offer in on B, to be told by the agent after the deadline that not one of the 13 viewers has offered anything, so any bid would win.

Where I've fucked up is that out of panic and being hassled every day for 3 weeks straight by the EA (since first viewing, not since first offer), I lifted my offer on A to their min acceptable price (because these numbers feel too big to be real, maths says I can afford the mortgage), so I have an offer accepted and started ball rolling with solicitors and brokers. Suspect the EA might've lied about another offer being in play which made me worry it might go, so I went for A and mentally let go of B.

I was content to go for A because it was easier. Just move in, nothing needs doing until I want to do solar panels and heat pump.

One week later and I can't stop thinking about what B could become with the right work done on it. I always told myself I wasn't looking to buy a project, I'm no DIY enthusiast, but if no-one has actually offered anything since, and I could get it for asking or just below, then I've saved myself ~65k (not considering stamp duty), and what that might get me in terms of renovation-budget? I've no-idea what I'd want the renovations to be specifically, and have no experience of finding trustworthy tradespeople.

I feel like an absolute shit, because part of my brain wants to pull out of A and go after B, but I also feel committed to A (I know we haven't exchanged contracts or anything, but I feel like I shouldn't go after something unless I want it to succeed.

What I should have done is spend the money on a survey for B before any offers, or even to go for B and see if there is anything significant that would shatter this idea that B could be amazing eventually, giving me an informed "not this one" and then going after A as a solid backup, or just saying no to both and seeing what else shows up on the market in a month or two.

I've been a complete mess for two weeks and even when I scored both properties with a set of criteria they arrive at a tie!

It's been a rollercoaster of a month and my brain just refuses to make a decision.

What I want is a magic ball to tell me how an attempted improvement of B would go, and whether I would regret it and want to move again anyway, at which point A is the easier option so just continue with it.

(I'm very aware there's a seller at the other end of this, and I've told myself all along I didn't want to mess them about, so if I did want to pull out, sooner is kinder)

How does anyone actually do this?

Hi Everyone. I have a 2015 Sony Bravia Android TV running version 7 if this screen is accurate.

The google play store app gives me this error message. It definitely has internet because the youtube app and other streamers work just fine. I wanted to download a new streamer app (HBO max) and I can't even open the store to look for it.

I don't want to completely wipe and reset the TV as I have a couple of downloaded apps I don't want to risk losing as I use them every day.

Does anyone have an idea or a fix?

Occer accepted tasks timeline

Following on from yesterday's pity party, I put in teh offer teh seller wanted and today it's been accepted.

Accepted with a list of actions that now need doing (which is totally fair)
do a Credas thing
get solicitor detials
pay them £80 to do AML (not sure why it's that much
submit the mortgage application

What has ruffled my feathers is the EA going "get this sorted over the weekend please"

Is this actaully reasonable request. It would mean having to go with L&C for mortgage broking as they do weekends and the recommendations from friends do not.

Is there any scope for "you'll get it in a timely manner, but you don't get to set a Monday deadline thank you. If my broker can't see me until Monday morning at the earliest, you'll have to wait a little longer."? Some of the tasks are easily done, but I don't get how the EA dictate timeline terms. Are they just being pushy or is there something in it?

Should I be feeling grumpy and uneasy all the time?

I turn 40 this year and told myself in January I'd go after a house this year (also prompted by next years cash ISA changes and also special tax rate due to interest the deposit pot has racked up)

I've been very complacently renting all this time in the same place for 10 years as I'm quite inert and need a real push to change circumstances.

Thought was "save up a big deposit to be maybe 50-60% of something 300-350 and get a smaller mortgage and pay if off sooner" but also "if this is as stressful as people say, I wanna buy forever home in one jump and be done with it, pay stamp duty once, get somewhere that will do forever, then look at adding solar and battery and heat pump, sit back and think i'm fixing the bits of my renting carbon footprint I can't control"

Did nothing for 6 months then started 1st august after getting first AIP. did 7 viewings on day one, and a handful after. Saw some ok places and some straight nos. Felt like I looked at everything in my perceived price range, and some ridiculous things my overly-enthusiastic brother kept sending through "it's not gonna start with a 4"

Almost unintentionally one of the first 7 was a house a minute from where i currently rent, listed at 425, though inflation calcs suggest it should be 390-395. Ticks a lot of boxes, but is a 10 year old new build with a just-about-acceptable lounge and sadly WFH space has to compromise a spare bedroom rather than being downstairs. There should be no issues with it, and lots of nice little things (seriously why does no-one have shaver sockets, where are you charging toothbrushes?)

It feels like a good thing to go for, but also maybe not the forever place. My big issue is that it feels like a good opportunity that might disappear if I don't go for it. Means a 35% deposit, but I can stretch it according to a second AIP.

I've chickened out on negotiation tactics and seller is holding firm on 420, but is willing to leave all contents behind which feels more like a favour for him than for me as i do have some furniture so would be tossing some stuff eventually.

There was another property that caught my eye with a more generous lounge but is a 1970s place with a side extension that has good kitchen and WC, btu needs modernising elsewhere, and I have never felt like a renovator. was on for 360, had 13 viewers and a "best offers only" submission, that no-one put in for it turns out so could maybe put in a cheeky low-ball.

Cue indecision teary breakdown Tuesday afternoon after putting in an offer on the first place Monday and deciding to let go of the other, causing me to pull out of the first place when the agents rang again (I'm so fed up of the daily calls asking what my thoughts are, it's been two weeks straight of it. If I ever sell a property, it will not be with Connells). I reassert my interest afterwards, but have yet to confirm my offer of "oh sod it, 420 and all your crap it is"

My mindset has always been "this is a chore to complete". I wasn't expecting some magical joyous journey, but i feel so panicked and grumpy all the time and it's been about a week of barely sleeping and upset stomach with just choosing the property i'm going to try and go after.

I keep hearing you'll know it when you find it, but I'm also so caught up on "if you let this one go, you might not get as much for the same money again for ages." I'm fed up of the incessant calls and i'm grumpy that i'm only getting 5k off the asking price, for all of the "FTB with no chain and completely flexible timing" advantage i've been told I have"

Today was supposed to be some sort of "deadline" for confirming an offer and I couldn't bring myself to answer the phone or reply to the emails. Part of me wants to just quit and keep renting for another year or ten, but another thinks that I might actually be fine in this house if I just push through and get it, despite compromised lounge and WFH options. maybe upgrade to forever home ten years later when i can look at places beyond the LISA 450 ceiling.

I've cried maybe 3 times in the past 15 years, and two of them were this week through the sheer head-torture and rollercoaster of stress. 0/10, do not recommend.

Tell me I'm not the only idiot feeling like this. I feel like all the paperwork and stuff beyond must be easier than this choice my brain has ground me to a paralysed halt with.

Edit: I'm buying solo, so can't just defer the choice to a partner and get looking at mortgage maths.

My estimate of Equinox building space

https://preview.redd.it/r6stt3ozhleh1.png?width=2044&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd71a9fbdcc32749f958ca0af5ca836521f9a746

So I couldn't help myself and counted up all the slots I could see in the view from the Expansion Pass trailer.
Highlighted in red are the rooms I've ignored (Bridge, transporter room, mess hall, waverider/aeroshuttle, torpedo room and workshop) along with turbolift, engineering, shuttlebay and deflector (I didn't need to ring those I hope)

Presuming the rest is flexible space we can arrange how we like, I count 102 slots.

Comparitive count-up on Voyager gives 193 slots, so we've actually got just over half the space Voyager had, which is more than I thought we'd get, though some of the decks are slightly unfriendly.

Decks 3, 4 and 5 all have 13 slots aftwards of the turbo lift, so if you put in a couple of large cargo bays together you're left with two slots that can only be batteries.

I think the two slot room on Deck 7 behind engineering might be the holodeck equivalent (I forget the term used in the show). Hopefully it's moveable because I want my enegry dissipator back there.

Edit: I'd ringed the lounge rather than the bridge, oops!

Tell me I'm not the only one...

I love overthinking and since the expansion pass announcement and the all-but guaranteed Equinox playthrough option (either current story or maybe a new one).

Is anyone else trying to imagine deck layouts and restrictions. Fandom page tells me the nova class only has 8 decks, and the ship will be shorter, so it may well be we only have 25%-50% of the current build area.

Naturally there will be fewer crew members so not as much room required for quarters, but it may well force a "you can only have one of each major room" restriction.

I can't be the only one thinking about this already, right?

Edit: reading it up a bit more, Equinox didn't have a holodeck, which does give back some space, but also means that morale might be horrendous to juggle.

Levelling up Sonar

This might be a really dumb question, but does the form Sonar is in matter when you're assigning points? I just received random point for upping my dispatcher level and it was intelligence so thought "let's give that to Sonar" but he was in mega-bat for so I think I just rounded him out rather than leaning into his hybrid-form strength.

Just finished my first playthrough

Woo etc, lots of fun. Final fight sequence caught me out a few times.

Surprised at some of the finishing stats. Found it fun that Coupé was my strongest hero, and I left sonar in jail, apparently only 4% of people did that.

This was my intentional BB/villain playthrough. I'm planning a visi/hero playthrough, keeping sonar, then deciding how i want my canon playthrough to go down.

I do wonder how many of the end-state decisions will carry forward and matter in season 2. I was honestly indifferent to forgiving or forgetting sonar

I'm so dumb

I'm at the end of episode 7 on the first playthrough. I knew there were multiple endings when I started playing and planned to do probably 3 playthroughs to see everything/get achievements etc.

So I'm in the meeting room after the shift, and I literally can't decide.

For context, this was always going to be my>!Mandy romance playthrough, Courtney was gonna be second playthrough, so I steered away from any Visi romance options!<This should make it straight forward for this to also be my >!villain playthrough, but the way the scene unravelled at the docks didn't feel like all that big a fuck up. Yes she went in on her own without backup, but it's not as though she betrayed the team by doing so, so tehm all wanting her gone feels weird tonally. Robert's been making thoroughly redemption choices , and didn't tell flambae because it was all about Robert choosing to make the team better, but at this point it still feels like that includes visi. Second playthrough was gonna be more "i'm a hero, you lot aren't, I just want my suit back" and that would feel like a drop visi section, but it could also be the romance visi and sod the rest of the team option!<

I'm being super-dumb, but I still can't make a decision. literally stopped my session after check the reload point is after the shift.

Full props to the writing for making choices feel difficult, but this one feels like it's hard to choose one way more than the other.

Slightly confused

Had a flawless shift, succeeded every time. Does this stat mean 10% of players also did, or does it factor how well I covered calls because I "barely succeeded" twice?

u/Outrageous_Yam_1368 — 3 months ago

Sure, tell me that after the episode why don't you

>!Guess who I cut in Episode 3... Actually managed to get myself confused thinking it was gonna be a Coupé vs Invisigal choice, despite knowing there was a choice and Invisigal is invovled in the whole story... !<

Not sure what the power activation thing means

u/Outrageous_Yam_1368 — 4 months ago

Just started playing

Played the demo when it first game out and thought it was neat, got the game a few months ago but somehow didn't start playing til today and done a couple of episodes.

Boy I'm overthinking choices already. I'm aware of a couple of the major choices in the game, and feel like I wanna do at least 2 playthroughs with certain outcomes in mind, steering some of the minor ones, but still, the QTE reactions have me panicking! 😝

And that's before I overthink how to level my team. It's good fun though!
