a disclaimer about 27 inch 2k 240 hz displays
o, i got the vg27aqm1a about a year ago. before that, i used a 720p monitor for 6 years, so it was a huge jump for me and i expected a perfect experience. but no, the internet completely lies about the truth of 2k 240hz monitors.
firstly, the terrible judder is the most troubling aspect of these types of monitors. if you are going to play valorant or cs, yeah, these monitors are good. but if you are more into watching content, it is terrible. judder is not just a silly visual glitch; it literally kills the experience. secondly, if you get anything bigger than 26.5 inches, it's going to be big. so big that you need to turn your head just to look at the corners, so that's a huge minus for me.
basically, don't buy without thinking, or you are going to end up like me. a 1080p 24.5-inch monitor is perfectly fine for everything—gaming, watching content, and generally everything else. don't fall for the trap; paying more money doesn't mean it will be as good as what you paid for. a $100 monitor can be cheap and good.
and don't get me started on the performance. i have a 5060 ti, so i can play any game at 60fps for now, but with newer titles, i'm going to have to use dlss and lower my settings, while i could just play in 1080p without any problems. besides, yes, 2k looks better, but 1080p is not bad either. also, most content is 1080p, and because of this, the pixels won't match your 2k display, making 1080p content look worse than it would on a normal 1080p monitor.
