Review - Horizontally aligned facade / front elevation
Hi everyone,
My architect has finalized the front elevation of my 10-marla, double-storey house and would really appreciate honest feedback from architects, designers, engineers, or homeowners. Details:
- Plot: 10 marla | 40-ft frontage
- 2-storey house; floor plan is already finalized
- Boundary wall approximately 10 ft in front of the facade
- Covered terrace planned on the left side, preferably above the porch
- 5-ft setback area on the extreme right due to prevailing by-laws
- 7-ft maximum-height mumty/service room at roof level — optional and can be removed
- Prefer black MS C-channel/slatted elements as part of the facade design
My main concern is getting the overall proportions and extreme left/right vertical elements right. I’m also unsure whether the mumty works better on the left or right side, or whether the elevation would look cleaner without it. I’d particularly appreciate your views on:
- What vertical strokes i can use in design to diffuse horizontal alignment and to give it vertical height ?
-Does the mumty add to the elevation or make it look unnecessarily heavy?
- Do design is likely to age well and remain practical?
- What would you change or improve in the facade?
I’ve attached the concept render. Please feel free to be critical—I’m looking for genuine architectural feedback before finalizing the design.
