Thoroughly enjoyed this flick. Really dug the overall creepy vibe and 90's color pallet. Phenomenal performance from the lead actors and believable creepiness in the Backrooms themselves. I'm not familiar with the game at all, and there were definitely moments that gave me a little jump scare, which was nice because that doesn't happen a lot these days, but I'm not sure how close it is to the game so I can't judge that really. But I had a great time watching it.

Black Flag back in the day was the first AC game I really showed my daughters. They were 7 and 8 at the time, and one would sit on my shoulders and the other in my lap while I played. They loved helping me chase down whales and stuff on the high seas, I would let them throw the spears and steer the ship. Now one of them is 21 and living on her own and the other is moving out soon, and playing this remake has got my nostalgia running rampant. I know Ubisoft isn't the best company, but these games have meant the world to me and mine over the years.

Watching this for the second time since it came out. I wasn't a big fan when I saw it in theaters, but I have no clue why I thought that way. I genuinely enjoyed it this time around, it got a little too wacky towards the end, but that's okay. It had incredibly beautiful cinematography, the wide shots in the valley were just gorgeous. It was super creative and original for the genre and legit terrifying at times, particularly the rain sequence. It's second place, behind Get Out for me, as far as Peele movies go. What a fun movie.
