hello! I’ve been looking for a plastic free blender and food processor for AGES in the UK and can’t find anything that suits my needs… I currently have the two in one ninja with the blender cup and food processor attachment but of course it’s all plastic. happy with stainless steel or glass but haven’t found either of those! especially the food processor… I’ve seen glass soup makers but I need for things like nut butters, energy balls and general food prep.
water machines… we have a reverse osmosis water machine but all of the tanks are plastic, we can’t use the hot water feature as it runs through plastic - we just heat in a stainless steel kettle in the stove, I’d be happy to forego the hot water feature and continue to do as we are but would love to find one where the water doesn’t sit in plastic tanks. couldn’t find one anywhere!
has anybody had any success! I’m more than happy to order from abroad as I want this to last me for years and years to come.
I've found that the main area of benefit for me has been work, thank GOD because I used to dread needing to sit there for eight hours, attend meetings, pretend i'm interested, initiate tasks, mask, it was awful even though I knew my job was a pretty cushty deal. I also dealt with MAJOR imposter syndrome.
Since starting meds, not only am I genuinely able to initiate tasks with ease, and stay focused all day, but I enjoy my job and I feel so confident in my ability to do my job that I'm striving to apply for something more senior elsewhere.
I always felt like a disorganised mess, even if outwardly I didn't present in that way, and I really knocked my confidence as everybody else I work with is so sharp, witty, organised. I don't have a degree (dropped out, canon adhd event, pre meds) and always felt so inferior. Turns out I just needed a little extra support.
This benefit to my job has made an overall huge difference to my outlook on life.
If you're interested - Affenid. On 36mg at the moment. Side effects not so bad, headaches on 18 but nothing now, some weird fuzziness in my hands that I'll mention to prescriber though as it could be nerve stuff or circulation stuff.
I’ve been on medication for about a month now (Affenid) and went up to 36mg this week, 18 was working well for me.
well I was warned about it not working as well in the premenstrual week but I didn’t expect to feel NOTHING! it’s like being at square one again despite just going up. the issue is the estrogen drop is like ovulation onwards so two weeks of the month I’m not feeling the full benefit and I was really benefitting from medication.
is there anything you ladies do to get around this or mitigate it?
after years and years of daily use I finally need to replace my mat. it’s dirty, scratched up (cats) and losing its grip - it was pretty inexpensive.
i want to invest in a manduka pro mat, are they worth the money for daily ashtanga?
ALSO does anybody specifically have the colour midnight? my previous yoga mat was taupe and got dirty so fast! I’m considering black but would prefer midnight if it doesn’t show stains/sweat/dirt super easy.
UPDATE: thanks yall 🫶 I went for black thunder with midnight blocks
especially stoked about the bury cru ep and the owner did me a great deal too on these + one international ep that wasn’t hip hop
bury cru was marked at 8 quid 🤩🤩🤩
For context, we met through mutual friends and started dating when he was 24 and I was 18. For my personal context, I never left home, never went to uni, struggled with physical and mental illness in teenage years, and lived with my disabled mother during covid who has since passed away - we had to isolate seriously so I lost out on 19-22ish, and then she became terminally ill and passed away, now I live with my boyfriend in the house we inherited.
On paper, we are a great couple. He is kind, patient, I have every ounce of trust in him, he helps me with everything around the house, we get told by strangers we look like a great couple, and for the most part I'm happy, he is to my knowledge completely happy, but there I am having persistent thoughts of leaving. When I told a friend she said 'nooooo but you work so well together' and that's because I've internalised everything for the most part.
It's also worth noting that I have had very dignified, calm conversations with him about all of the above, he's acknowledges but nothing changes.
There are more but these are the immediate thoughts that come to mind. The main one is that I NEED TO FIND MY OWN LIFE. I NEED AUTONOMY. We do things separately all the time, it's not that, I don't want the weight of expectation that comes with being in a relationship.
In a way, I wish I had met him when I was 35, and had a chance to find my own feet, because I love him really really dearly, but at the moment the need for autonomy is becoming unbearable. I also worry financially being alone living in London, I have pets too.
I'm terrified of disappointing my family, his family, our friends (I don't have many friends of my own now which also scared me), our neighbours, myself, him, but I've seen so many older people wish they got out and explored the world more before settling down. If he had cheated, or done something wrong, I'd be quick to leave, the difficult comes in the fact that he's perfect and I know I would never ever have another chance with him, nor find somebody else like him.
Has anybody dropped a relationship for similar reasons, at a similar age to me? Could you please share your experience.
My yearning for independence is really sinking my heart into my stomach atm.
Hello! Long time lurker.
I was diagnosed last year but only just starting medication because of various health issues I had at the time.
Prescribed Concerta, was looking forward to taking it as I'd read so many amazing things. Pick up prescription and its Affenid.... haven't read a single good thing about this. Obviously the pharmacy said it's all they can get at the moment. I know they're 'the same' but my experience having a chronically ill parent means that I know that a lot of 'direct replacements' or 'generics' DO NOT provide the same relief.
Please somebody give me tips, tricks, success stories. I'm kind of gutted about the whole thing because I don't eat breakfast and really enjoy my morning coffee on an empty stomach and apparently those things both have to go. I hate eating breakfast.
