Uhh should I stop doing this

I like green tea so much I drink 5+ cups a day and I'm so addicted to it I even eat the grains inside the teabag

I especially like the Organic India tulsi green teabag

Since green tea doesn't have so much caffeine, I can continue doing this right?

Wind band player thinking of joining string orchestra

Can I? And should I?

I've been playing in wind band for about 2 years, and I'm thinking of also joining my school's string orchestra because it looks really fun. I play the bass clarinet in wind band and I read the treble clef for context-

I played violin for about less than a month many many years ago, but I've basically forgotten everything. I do want to start again though.

I love strings because they sound so lush and beautiful even when they're tuning.

Wind band would still be my main/prioritised ensemble, I'm not planning to quit or switch. I'd mainly want to join strings to experience the string side and learn something new.

For people who have played in both wind band and string orchestra, or started strings after playing another instrument: is this a good idea? What should I expect as a beginner?

Idk also if not for violin should I try cello or double bass? And what's with all the viola hate 💀

I'm sad

My physics teacher said I can't take higher level physics because I will struggle a lot, and I got a C for the test. The C was about 2% close to a B

I honestly don't know how to improve though, how can I get an A? I barely have enough days left to the finals

I'm so scared.

I was distracted with other things but I've made a decision to put aside those distractions on focus on sciences from now.

But I feel like I have too many weaknesses that it's hard to improve by a huge amount.

How can I improve to an A? Is anyone going through the same thing?

Is this normal feedback from a teacher?

(Yes, it is)

After reflecting on the feedback I received, I think I may have approached this situation from the wrong perspective. I initially focused on whether my teacher should have provided more specific guidance, but I also realise that I could have taken more responsibility in seeking that guidance myself.

During the meeting, my teacher mentioned that the subject may not currently be one of my strengths, that my results were inconsistent, and that I do not often ask questions in class. At the time, I wondered whether my teacher should have asked why I was hesitant to speak up, as there were personal reasons behind it.

However, looking back, I understand that teachers cannot know what a student is thinking unless the student communicates it. I could have been more proactive by approaching my teacher, explaining my difficulties, asking for feedback, and requesting specific advice on how to improve.

I think I was hoping for a clearer explanation of my weaknesses and a more detailed improvement plan, but I now realise that part of the responsibility lies within me to ask those questions rather than waiting for someone else to identify everything for me.

I appreciate the previous feedback because it helped me realise that improvement is not only about receiving better guidance, but also about actively seeking it out.

Thank you

i got a D for mocks (econs) 😭

help guys

Any tips

I'm really struggling

I used to get scrape Bs and at least Cs every term, my paper 2 structured answers weren't great but I didn't know I would score this low

Paper 1 as usual I got around 21

I guess my economic knowledge for later topics like international trade and economic development and also microeconomics is super bad. But I have no idea and no motivation to start. That probably cost me in paper 2. On top of that, I'm super bad at writing essays

Anyone on the same page or used to be plz help

How are you guys preparing for Tamil Oral? Any past-year resources to share?

Hi! My Tamil Oral is coming up soon and I was wondering how everyone else is preparing for it??

What resources are you using? Are there any past-year oral questions, topic lists, model answers, or notes that you found helpful? If anyone has any resources they're willing to share, I'd really appreciate it.

Also, if you've already taken the exam, I'd love to hear any tips on what to focus on or what you found most useful during your preparation.

Thanks in advance, and all the best to everyone taking Tamil Oral!

economics mock (PLZ HELP)

Guys, this is really last minute, but plz hear me out

My Economics mock is in ONE. DAY. and realistically I only have one full day to study.

The problem is:

  • I haven't been doing past papers. (well I did one like last week from papacambridge but it didn't go great)
  • My Paper 2 (structured) answers are really weak, and I always blank when I have to write the discuss question even if I break it down
  • I've basically been scraping by with Cs (around 16–21/30) in every topical test over the past two years.
  • I haven't studied Sections 5 and 6 at all (International Trade and Economic Development).
  • My microeconomics knowledge is also pretty shaky.

At this point, should I just focus on doing past papers?

Today I studied a little and I've been doing great on allocation of resources, demand/supply/PPC diagrams (basically the very basics) with practice on savemyexams but I haven't really studied anything else. Mergers, Economies of scale, MNCs and honestly most of the other stuff all feel so foreign to me....

i took my (I)GCSE music mock today (repost)

it was horrible

it was super horrible

I don't know what I wrote but I hated every single one of my answers

I wrote everything I knew for an allegedly simple 2 mark question

Messed up the entire first extract because I was too shocked by everything

but i did get a 9 for the end of year paper last year so the teacher has high expectations for me

honestly idk 🙏 I feel like imma fail

my teacher was staring at my paper with the stupid answers the whole time

everyone thought it was easy

literally gonna cry

I know this isn't the right subreddit for international GCSEs but literally no one takes music there so

do y'all have any tips as former or current GCSE music students or sm

Has anyone else looked back on past achievements and felt like they didn't deserve them..?

So when I was 14, I qualified for an international math competition through my school. In the first round, I did surprisingly well and outperformed some of my school peers.

Later, there was an overseas round. I really wanted to go and convinced my parents to let me participate because I felt it might be my only chance to have an experience like that.

The strange thing is that I never felt like I belonged there. Many of the other students seemed much stronger in competition math, and I often felt underprepared compared to them. Some of them had years of experience with competition-style problems, while I mostly had a strong school math background.

I ended up winning some awards, including a team award, but I still feel conflicted about it years later because I don't feel like I contributed much to the team's result. Looking back, part of me wonders whether I deserved some of the recognition I received.

Around the same period, there was another student who was exceptionally talented at mathematics. I remember telling people that I loved math, and then watching this student solve problems far beyond what I could do. It affected my confidence more than I realized at the time. I still worked hard for a while, but eventually I became discouraged, procrastinated more, and stopped putting in the same effort.

In my earlier school years, I regularly earned distinctions and did very well academically. Now I'm 16 and struggling much more than I used to, even coming close to failing a subject that I was once strong in. Because of that, I've started looking back on those experiences differently. Sometimes I wonder whether I was ever as capable as I thought I was, and whether I've wasted the potential I had when I was younger.

Has anyone else gone from being a high-achieving student to struggling later on? Did meeting someone much stronger than you change how you viewed yourself, and how did you deal with it?

igcse June holidays

do you guys think if I focus on 3 of the subjects I prioritise the most (amath, Chem, physics) that's enough? (Don't really do well for them, enough to scrape by a C/B at most)

Barely 10 days left for me to prelims and subject choices depend on them so I'm super scared

Also new topics are completely unknown for me because the teacher just rushed through them and my sch notes are so wordy

Also for A maths is doing the workbook useful other than past papers

thx (p.s. I wrote this in a rush)

woke up with this in my head

this melody came to me in a dream randomly in the middle of the night.

I can’t tell if it reminds me of anything I’ve heard before since I doomscroll a lot and sounds like sm from meme shorts, but it just popped into my head

Advice for future candidates

Hi everyone, The May/June 2026 IGCSE session has just ended, and I’m preparing for the October/November 2026 exams. I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who just went through it.

If you’re comfortable, please also mention your subjects + final grade/predicted grade, so I can understand what worked for different levels.

Specifically:

  • What surprised you in the actual exams?
  • Which topics/question types came up more than expected?
  • What revision methods actually worked (and what didn’t)?
  • How many past papers did you realistically manage?
  • What mistakes do you wish you fixed earlier in your prep?
  • Any advice for improving from a C/B range to an A or potentially A star..?

Thanks and congrats to everyone who just finished!
