Creality K1 vs Bambu Lab A1

Hey guys! I am looking to buy my first 3D printer, but I am on doubt on whether to buy the Creality K1 or the Bambu Lab A1. I want to print mostly simple stuff, such as tools/useful things for my house, decorations, gifts, parts for electronics projects, etc. Therefore, I dont really have an intent to print anything outside of PLA/PETG. at least for now, I also dont plan to buy a multi-color system like the CFS or the AMS (too expensive for now).

My first choice was to buy the Creality Hi, however I am going from Brazil to Paraguay (where eletronics are cheaper, less taxes) in a few weeks and the shop where I was going to buy the Hi doesnt have it on stock anymore. So after searching a bit, I found the Creality K1 and the Bambu A1 available for a bit more expensive than the Hi. Both printers are almost the same price (A1 is ~20$ more expensive than the K1).

There also isnt any extenuating circumstances that would restrict me from using anything, just the fact that I live in an apartment, so quieter printers are appreciated.

Thank you all in advance!

Creality Hi vs K1

So basically I am looking to buy my first 3D printer and, as the title sugests, I am on doubt on choosing either the Creality Hi or the K1 (not the K1C or K1 se). My initial choice was to buy a Creality Hi, however, after searching a bit more, I found the K1 for a bit more expensive (~300 BRL difference, which is aproximately 60 USD). It is still in my budget, but what I really want to know is if there is any benefits of the K1 over the Hi. From what I have seen, the main K1 advantage is its speed, but I havent seen anywhere any other significant advantages of the K1 over the Hi (for instance, in Creality's website, almost the entire page about the K1 is talking about its speed, which is smth I dont really care about that much).

So basically, my question is what printer is overall better and if there is any advantage of the K1 over the Hi, other than speed, that justifies the price difference.

Thank you all in advance!

Stepper motors in DIY racing sim

Hello, how are yall doing? So basically I am planning to build a racing simulator, with a steering wheel and gas and brake pedals, to play racing games on my pc. I probably will use a esp32 or a raspberry pi pico w for this.

However, what I am really on doubt about is the steering wheel control. I want for it to be able to detect when it is rotated (obviously) and, when released, automatically go back to the initial position, just like a real steering wheel. The thing is, I dont know what components to use for this. I was thinking on using a stepper motor like those simple Nema 17 with the axis attached to the wheel, killing two birds with a single stone, however I dont know if, when using a driver with the motor, I will be able to detect when the wheel is turned. I know I can buy a stepper motor and buy a separate encoder for detecting rotation on the wheel, but I dont know any affordable incremental encoders.

Thank you all in advance!
