When I met my husband he told me his dog was great pyrenees and german shepherd. I bought him a dna test because i was curious and I saw pitbull in him. My husband disagreed and still doesn't see how I see pitbull in him lol but anyways, here's our boy and his results. He's not mainly pit but hes still more than my husband thought which was 0%

So we have had an influx of redditors commenting on a specific post telling the owner and anyone who keeps their dogs intact that they're inherently abusive/neglectful etc. for not spaying their wolfdog whos not even fully grown yet and that pediatric spay/neuter are the same as waiting to alter them when they're fully mature.

We have decided to make a rule against comments like this. This subreddit is NOT anti spay/neuter, we however will NEVER support pediatric spay and neuter's and also do not believe someone should be shamed for not wanting to alter their dog if they're owning them responsibly and avoiding litters (yes, thats possible).

There are many studies that show issues behavioral AND physical when an animal is altered before receiving all their adult hormones. I will link those here for anyone interesting in learning. If youre just here to argue against peer reviewed studies, you can go ahead and leave the subreddit.

So as im sure many of you know Mars has had issues with being groomed for years, she gets fear aggressive and growls and thrashes. We have had to do her nails at the vet for the longest time, and ive been slowly working with her on brushing and baths. Well I found a fear free private groomer willing to come to my house and groom her and she got a full groom done yesterday!!! Im so extremely proud of my girl

I had to leave to go to my moms wedding and of course in true Mars fashion she was pulling out all the stops to try to get me to stay. I put my pajamas beside her so she had something that smells like me to cuddle with

Shes still limping a bit but it looks like its healing way better than I assumed it would

I had a lovely purebred shepherd, Gunner, as a child which led to the choice of all of my adult owned dogs (besides my purebred collie) being german shepherd mixes lol. My friend however owns 3 absolutely stunning purebred shepherds, 2 long haired show lines and a working line. They are such an amazing breed 😭 ill never not own a shepherd/shepherd mix
