Keeping GSP Entertained on Hot Days
Howdy folks! My girl Addie is 5, turning 6 soon here. We live in North Carolina, where the heat and humidity alone can be worrisome. I suppose I’ve never really had an issue keeping her occupied up until now, but her normal games of fetch and long walks aren’t as practical given 90+ degree days, before humidity.
Does anyone have recommendations on indoor activities that can keep them stimulated/enriched? She’s on Prozac and gabapentin and still seems a bit restless, so I can only imagine what she’d be like without the meds. I’m open to doing things in the home, or bringing her somewhere for enrichment/new activities. A small caveat is she tends to be a loner dog, so activities inside involving direct contact with other dogs would be case by case.
I’ve also seen online suggestions for scent work, tracking or field work to keep their instincts and prey drive strong.
