FileMaker Pro alternative

I have hundreds of recipes in FileMaker Pro. That app is switching to Apple’s M series processors only, so my version of FM Pro software (Intel based) will soon stop working. To upgrade, it will cost $625, which I can’t afford. I am looking for an alternative, affordable, database to port my recipes into. Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative app?

Door keep reversing when closed

I have a double garage door with a Chamberlain LiftMaster Formula 1 opener. The unit has worked flawlessly for many years. The belt was replaced about 5 years ago. Recently, however, the door started auto-reversing when it is closed. It fully closes, then, as soon as it touches the garage floor, it opens again. I have checked that there are no obstructions and adjusted the down force adjustment on the closer. I initially thought the adjustment fixed it, but it started auto-reversing again a day or two later.

After adjusting the down force I put a 2x4 on the floor in the path of the door to see if it would reverse when it hit something - as it should - and it reversed some of the time, but not always. As a result of that, I am hesitant to adjust the down force too much out of concern for safety.

On the times the door auto-reverses I have noticed that the arm that attaches the top of the door to the closer track makes a slight “jump” just before it auto-reverses. If the door goes down and stays down, this “jump” does not happen. I’m not sure what this means, if anything, or how to address it.

What other things should I be looking for as the cause of the unwanted auto-reversing?

Best route from Blowing Rock to Linville Caverns

So I'm planning a trip to Blowing Rock in a few weeks. I also want to visit Linville Caverns. What's the best route to drive from Blowing Rock to Linville Caverns? Should we take Hwy 221, or the Blue Ridge Parkway, or 105/181/183? I know all will get me there, but just curious if locals have an opinion on which is the best route to take. Thanks!

MS Word doc formatting falls apart when opened in Teams

I created a document using the native MS Word app on my PC. I then saved the doc to Teams so others in my office can access it. The problem is, whenever the doc is opened from within Teams it opens in a web version of Word and the doc’s formatting is all off. Has any else experienced this and what, if anything, were you able to do to prevent or mitigate this problem.
