Luna 5.6 vs DeepSeek V4 Flash ?

Price:

Luna: $0.20 input / $1.20 output per 1M tokens.

DeepSeek Flash off peak: $0.22 input / $0.66 output. Peak: $0.44 input / $1.32 output.

So DeepSeek is cheaper off peak, but Luna is cheaper during DeepSeek's peak hours.

Vision:

Luna handles images and PDFs natively. DeepSeek Flash is text only. If you need vision, Luna is the only option here.

Coding:

Luna scores higher on accuracy benchmarks. But if you run DeepSeek twice, it matches Luna's single shot accuracy and still costs less.

Context:

DeepSeek has a 1M context window and can output 384K tokens in one go. Luna handles smaller contexts but is faster per task.

Agent work:

Luna scores higher on agent benchmarks, but DeepSeek is reportedly better at following existing code styles and engineering conventions.

Creative output:

Luna produces better looking front end and UI results. DeepSeek gets the job done but the output looks rougher.

Speed:

Luna is faster per task. DeepSeek is slower but handles larger files.

So for those of you using both, who should I go with? Or it depends your use case ?

For whoever works with Deepseek API in Algeria here is breakdown of off peak hours and Peak hours from 16 August.

Algeria Off-Peak Hours (UTC+1)

Peak hours: 02:00–05:00 and 07:00–11:00

Off-peak: All other hours (including 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM next day)

---

DeepSeek-V4-Flash (per 1M tokens)

Off-peak:

· Input (cache hit): $0.007
· Input (cache miss): $0.22
· Output: $0.66

Peak:

· Input (cache hit): $0.014
· Input (cache miss): $0.44
· Output: $1.32

---

DeepSeek-V4-Pro (per 1M tokens)

Off-peak:

· Input (cache hit): $0.022
· Input (cache miss): $0.66
· Output: $1.98

Peak:

· Input (cache hit): $0.044
· Input (cache miss): $1.32
· Output: $3.96

---

So if you work from 11 AM to 2 AM Algeria time, you're off-peak the whole time. The peak windows are just 2–5 AM and 7–11 AM.

But on second thought GPT- Luna 5.6 is much cheaper at any time of the day supporting vision.

Part 1: Where to Find Gigs

International Platforms

Upwork
The largest freelance marketplace. Create a strong profile, start with small fixed price projects to build your rating, then increase your rates gradually.
Website: https://www.upwork.com/

Fiverr
A service based platform where you list your offers starting at a minimum price. Create clear, attractive gig packages. Focus on a specific niche.
Website: https://www.fiverr.com/

Toptal
For elite freelancers only. They accept the top 3% of applicants. The screening process is very difficult but the pay is extremely high.
Website: https://www.toptal.com/

Arab Freelance Platforms

Khamsat
A popular Arabic platform for small services. Good for beginners to get their first reviews. Prices are generally lower but the competition is less fierce.
Website: https://khamsat.com

Mostaql
A larger Arabic platform for serious projects. Clients post full projects and you bid on them. Good for developers, designers, and content writers.
Website: https://mostaql.com

Social Media and Networking

LinkedIn
The most powerful tool for serious freelancers. Build a professional profile, post about your work and insights, and connect with decision makers.
Website: https://www.linkedin.com/

Twitter / X
Share your work process and knowledge. The tech community is very active here. Posting useful content regularly can attract clients.

Facebook Groups
Join groups like "Freelance Algeria" or tech specific communities. Clients sometimes post requests directly in these groups.

Direct Outreach to Companies
Identify local businesses with outdated websites or weak online presence. Send them a personalized message explaining how you can help them grow.

---

Part 2: How to Get Clients

Specialization
Do not be a generalist. A focused niche makes you stand out from the crowd. For example, instead of "web developer," be "E-commerce developer for local clothing brands." A developer in Oran specialized in restaurant websites and received three times more requests.

Build a Strong Portfolio
Your portfolio is your most important credibility tool. A simple portfolio with 5 clear projects on Notion or a well structured personal website is very effective.

Master Your Pitch
A strong offer inspires confidence. Structure it to state the client's problem, present your solution, list deliverables, mention a timeline, and include your price.

Network Actively
Networking is essential for long term success. Be active in online communities and attend local tech events.

Build Reputation and Trust
Do quality work and always ask for testimonials. A freelancer who refused low paying contracts and focused on serious clients via LinkedIn ended up charging five times more per project within one year.

---

Part 3: Legal and Professional Status

The Auto Entrepreneur Card
This is the official legal status for freelancers in Algeria. Registering makes your activity legal and provides significant benefits.

Advantages
Flat tax of 0.5% on total revenue. Social security coverage including health insurance and retirement. The ability to open a foreign currency bank account for receiving international payments legally.

How to Register
Visit the official website of the National Agency for Auto Entrepreneurship. You will need your ID, a passport photo, and proof of address.
Website: https://www.anae.dz/

Invoicing
Each invoice must include your Fiscal Identification Number (NIF), your details and the client's details, the date, a description of services, the amount, and a sequential invoice number. Invoices must be kept for 10 years.

---

Part 4: How to Get Paid

Grey
This is currently the most straightforward option for many freelancers. Grey provides you with US, UK, and EU bank accounts, a virtual dollar card, and tools to send and receive money internationally. It is available in Algeria.

How It Works
Create a free account and complete KYC verification with your government ID. Once approved, you can request a UK or EU bank account with your own IBAN, sort code, and account number.

Receiving Payments
Share these details with your client. A client in the UK pays you via local transfer, and a client in Europe pays via SEPA. The funds arrive in your Grey balance in GBP or EUR. This avoids the expensive SWIFT system.

Converting and Withdrawing
You can hold the foreign currency and choose when to convert it to DZD. Grey allows you to withdraw directly to your Algerian bank account.

Website: https://grey.co/

RedotPay plus PayPal (Use with Caution)
This is a popular alternative but comes with risks.

How It Works
Create a RedotPay account and complete KYC. Link your RedotPay Visa card to your PayPal account. Your client pays you via PayPal. You withdraw the money to your RedotPay card. You can then use it for online purchases or find a trusted person to exchange the balance into DZD.

Alternative Funding Method
You can also fund your RedotPay account with crypto. Buy USDT on Binance through P2P trading. Pay someone in DZD using local services like Baridimob, and they send you USDT. Deposit the USDT to your RedotPay account.

Risks and Warnings
This method requires extreme caution. There are reports of hidden fees and account freezes. Only deal with trusted people to avoid scams.

Website: https://www.redotpay.one/

Legal Bank Transfer
If registered as an auto entrepreneur, you can open a foreign currency bank account in Algeria. Your client sends a SWIFT transfer. The bank converts the money to DZD at their official rate. This is the most legal option but it is slow (3 to 5 business days) and expensive.

DeepSeek plans ‘significant’ price increase for its AI services

DeepSeek plans to implement a significant price increase across its artificial intelligence (AI) services, an unusual shift from the Chinese tech sector that has put pressure on US competitors with its aggressive pricing.
The Hangzhou-based company in recent days has led the conversation around the cost of high-performing AI tools, as its V4 Flash showed itself capable of competing with the world’s best while costing cents where US competitors charged several dollars. Its pricing has been so far out of the usual range for AI models that it has prompted the idea of a DeepSeek danger zone, where costlier or less capable models would be obviated.
In a notice to users on Thursday, DeepSeek did not specify the exact increases, other than to call them substantial and urge users to plan accordingly. The company currently charges US$0.14 (RM0.57) per million input tokens and US$0.28 per million output tokens — measures of work an AI model does to digest information and produce results — whereas Chinese rival Moonshot prices its Kimi K3 at US$3 and US$15 per million of each token type. Anthropic’s state-of-the-art Fable 5 service sets that pricing at US$10 and US$50, respectively.
DeepSeek intends to build a massive data centre in Inner Mongolia, part of a plan to secure one gigawatt of AI computing power that may include leasing additional capacity from other companies, Bloomberg News reported last week. It needs to build up the funding to support that kind of costly venture. Nvidia chief executive officer Jensen Huang has previously estimated that a 1GW data centre equipped with the most cutting-edge AI accelerators would cost about US$50 billion, although costs in China are typically lower than in the US.

$0/M Tokens: The Ultimate Free GPT-5.6 Terra Load-Balancing Tutorial

Could be a good solution for Algerians who can’t afford to pay a subscription online or don’t own international payment cards.

Make 20 free ChatGPT accounts, load-balance them, and run GPT-5.6 Terra for literally $0.

---

What You'll Need

· 20 free ChatGPT accounts (use temp emails like temp-mail.org + phone verification via Google Voice or SMS-activate)
· Load balancer: free-ai-pool or codex-lb (both on GitHub)
· Agent harness: hermes-agent (CLI tool) + custom memory script
· Memory tool: memU or mcp-memory (local vector DB for querying)

---

Step 1: Set Up Your Accounts

Go to chat.openai.com and sign up with a temp email. Verify the phone number (use a virtual number service if needed). Repeat this 20 times.

Export cookies or session tokens for each account using a browser extension like "EditThisCookie". Save them in a .json file like this:

[
{"email": "acc1@temp.com", "session_token": "xxx"},
{"email": "acc2@temp.com", "session_token": "yyy"}
]

---

Step 2: Install & Run Load Balancer

git clone https://github.com/username/free-ai-pool
cd free-ai-pool
npm install

Create a config.json file:

{
"accounts": "./accounts.json",
"port": 2455,
"model": "gpt-5.6-terra"
}

Run it with:

npm start

Now you have a local OpenAI-compatible endpoint at http://127.0.0.1:2455/v1/chat/completions

---

Step 3: Install Hermes Agent + Memory Harness

git clone https://github.com/username/hermes-agent
cd hermes-agent
pip install -r requirements.txt

Create your memory files:

MEMORY.md – compressed core knowledge (keep it under 300 tokens)
USER.md – current task context (keep it under 200 tokens)

Example MEMORY.md:

Project: Blog scraper

· Use requests + bs4
· Retry 3x on 429
· Output: markdown

Example USER.md:

Current: Scrape example.com/blog

· Extract h1 + .post-content
· Save to output.md

---

Step 4: The "Traversable Skill" Trick

Instead of dumping entire history into the prompt, ask the agent itself to compress memory into a queryable skill.

Inside your hermes harness, add this:

from memU import MemoryStore
store = MemoryStore()
store.index(MEMORY.md + USER.md)

def get_relevant_context(query):
return store.query(query, top_k=3)

Now your system prompt becomes dynamic:

"You are an assistant. Inject memory only when needed. When the user asks something, first query the memory store for relevant context, then respond."

This keeps your total prompt under 500 tokens every single time.

---

Step 5: Run Your Free Stack

python hermes.py --endpoint http://127.0.0.1:2455 --memory-dir ./memory/

Now every request goes through the load balancer (using free accounts), uses minimal context (via memory query), and costs you exactly $0.

---

Pro Tips

Rotate accounts weekly because free tiers eventually expire.

Keep MEMORY.md under 300 tokens for faster inference and fewer rate limits.

Use --retry 3 to handle random 429 errors.

Test with curl first to make sure your load balancer works before hooking up Hermes.

---

Tools Recap (all free)

free-ai-pool on GitHub – load balancer
hermes-agent on GitHub – CLI harness
memU on GitHub – local memory query engine
temp-mail.org – temp emails

---

Don't take my word for it test it yourself.

You’re welcome to contribute below if you have better alternatives.

Jensen Huang says ‘a lot’ of six-figure jobs in plumbing and construction will soon be unlocked because someone needs to build new AI centers

According to Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang, the next wave of six-figure opportunities won’t be found in a Wall Street cubicle or Silicon Valley Slack channel. Instead, high-paying careers will partially come by picking up a wrench literally.
As tech giants race to build sprawling data centers totaling $7 trillion in global capital outlays by the end of the decade Huang believes the world is on the cusp of what he calls the “largest infrastructure build out in human history,” which will create “a lot of jobs.”

The story behind Algeria’s first tech company to list on the stock exchange

The founder is a guy named Mohamed Lamine Belbachir. He started Ayrade back in 2009, but the idea actually came to him when he was just 16 years old. He built his first website at that age and was so frustrated with the hosting and security options available that he thought, why not build something better himself . That stuck with him.

He grew up in Hassi Messaoud, got his bac in 2005, then moved to Algiers for university. He did a licence in commerce at the University of Algiers, but also picked up several IT certifications along the way, including a two year specialised programme in operating systems at USTHB . So he was building that technical foundation while also getting the business side. Later he went on to get an MBA and a Master 2 from Paris Sorbonne and Dauphine, and right now he's doing a DBA (basically a doctorate in business) at Geneva Business School, writing his thesis on cloud computing development .

The name Ayrade itself comes from the Targui and Berber word for lion . That gives you a sense of the ambition.

So what does the company actually do? It's not just generic IT services. Ayrade is what they call a sovereign cloud operator. That means they provide cloud hosting, data storage, and cybersecurity solutions where everything stays within Algeria's borders. Two data centres already up and running, both built by their own teams . They also developed a proprietary cybersecurity product called ASA (Ayrade Security Appliance), which does compliance audits, penetration testing, and security monitoring for sensitive systems .

Hyko.ai ?

I recently came across Hyko.ai, an Algerian startup building a no code AI agent platform, and it really caught my attention. From what I gathered, it lets you create AI workflows without writing a single line of code kind of like training a virtual assistant to handle complex tasks, with a strong focus on data privacy and on-premise deployment.

That said, I’d love to get a clearer picture from the community

Has anyone here used it or tested it out?
What do you think sets it apart from other automation tools like n8n or Make?

And more importantly I’d like to invite the Hyko.ai team to join this sub and do an AMA (Ask Me Anything) or a simple presentation of their project. I think it would be awesome to have them share their vision, tech stack, roadmap, and maybe even answer some tough questions from fellow Algerian devs and founders.

What do you all think? Drop your thoughts below

Big congratulations to u/Yasser our first monthly contest winner for June! 🎉

His project, Parasite Z, took the top spot with 104 upvotes – and honestly, it's easy to see why.

Yasser is an indie game developer working with Unreal Engine, and he built Parasite Z from the ground up. The best part? It's available on both PC and Android – not an easy feat.
