Tracker vs fixed for two years

I got two sub accounts with Halifax, one currently at 4.4 for next year and half.

One is ending this month which was fixed at 5%. I need to remortgage 75k, current Halifax deals are 5.16% fixed 2 year or 4.4% tracker.

Looking at last two years interest rate stayed at around 5%, tracker would have been cheaper in last two years.

Can someone make sense if things if I pick tracker, I think interest won’t go up, we already had Iran war, only thing I can think of is Cuba war which should be smaller than Iran war.

Any advice?

Octopus charger refused, can’t find quotes?

octopus change my meter to smart meter, I was thinking of getting ev and wanted to ask him about ev charger option. Our meter is in the middle of house and garage is at the end of garden at the back. There is already electricity cable there for plug and lights.

I asked him about how much do you think the charger cost with octopus and he said they probably won’t do it as this is not a standard install.

I can dig and hole for the new wire if that’s required and I think I have a way to get the wire there from roof to outside and from outside to under the slabs all the to garage.

Now I can’t find any charger company online who can come and quote me without me first buying the charger outright.

I am test driving few used cars if I can’t get the charger then there is no point for ev.

I am in Manchester based.

Does anyone know someone who can do a good external grunge ev install? And can quote me without buying the charger first

Used ev advice for 10k-12k

Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice on used ev. Currently I have fiesta 2010 which required some work so instead of wasting money I think it’s better to get bigger family ev car.

Looking at fuel cost I think going with ev makes most sense as I can most probably get the charger installed near my garage, have budget for 10-12k.

I have narrowed down the list to
Kia e-niro 60k-70k miles 2021-2022
Kia ev6
Polestar 2 ~90k miles. 2022-2023
Hyundai kona ~60k miles. 2021-2022
MG6

There are other cars for maybe around 14k which I can get with high mileage and they go down to 12k like
Mgzs, id4, Tesla m3, even Benz EQA.

Online everyone seems to just love e-Niro. I can see few of them selling online

E-Niro 3 2021 with 60k miles for 12k

All the reviews really love it but one of the big issue is the wheel of fortune for niro, these 2021 cars only got 1 year warranty left, how common is this issue and whats the out of warranty cost to fix this?

I have no experience with ev, no body that I know has one, everyone seem think they will cost more to maintain than petrol cars.

Can I get some recommendations, what would you buy if you looking for a family ev car with low maintenance.

I got fiesta 1.4tdci mk7 2010. I got few errors for o2 sensor and egr not working, I replaced both and still getting issues. I got forscan software and scan for all values.

Some of the values and voltages seem wrong. I fed them to ai and its telling me I got issues with egr, cabin temp sensor and o2 sensor.

Can i find the issue myself, is this a big issue to fix, how much is replacement wiring loom/ wiring set cost?

Visually i can't see anything from above which might be broken or burned.

Here is what AI found from my forscan software data.

Impossible readings (hardware faults):

•	INCARTMP: 214°C — impossible, maxed out sensor, cabin temp

•	ACRPSV: -31.42V — impossible negative voltage

•	TPSVS1: -31.30V — impossible negative voltage

•	EGT11V: 4.99V — pegged at maximum

•	EGT12V: 4.99V — pegged at maximum

•	EQ\_RAT11: 0.00000000 — lambda sensor dead, o2 sensor

EGR faults:

•	EGR\_A\_ERR: -100.00% — EGR A circuit error

•	EGR\_B\_ERR: -100.00% — EGR B circuit error

•	EGR\_VAL\_MEA: 0.00% — valve measured at 0 while desired is 90.16%

•	EGR\_EVAL: No — EGR system not evaluated

DPF:

•	DPF\_LOAD: 539% — should be under 100%

O2 sensor:

•	P0030 — HO2S Heater Control Circuit Open (from DTC screen)

•	O2SHTR\_EVA: No — O2 heater not evaluated

•	O2S\_EVAL: No — O2 sensor not evaluated

These all point to one wiring loom fault — show this list to your mechanic and mention to check the wiring loom behind the engine near the turbocharger.
