Any OG’s left here?
If you have owned for 4-5 years or longer, did you sell off some/all before the pullback or riding it out for the long game for its eventual return to glory?

Our peanut 4.2 lb six month old little Yorkie potentially needs to be under anesthesia soon again for potentially more than an hour or longer for many baby teeth impacting his adults ones from coming in. Here’s the issue. On Friday he crashed not too long(12 minutes) while under a neutering that had to be stopped after a doctor could not locate one of his male parts that never descended, which our vet thought should of been in his abdomen but wasn’t. He will need an ultrasound and possibly even a CT to find it then will have to go under again by a board certified surgeon for that too and may have to go very deep with a long incision. I’m beyond anxious and preparing for the worst here but trying so hard to be positive. He has two major procedures ahead of him, and insurance doesn’t cover the neutering at all, but I’m told the teeth will hopefully be mostly covered by a pet dental specialist. But regardless of cost, we are a mess for what lies ahead and the time he will be under. He’s just so small to handle all that. Can we just leave the teeth in and give him more time to fall out and for the adult ones to come in?
Our peanut 4.2 lb six month old little guy needs to be under anesthesia soon again for potentially more than an hour or longer for many baby teeth impacting his adults ones from coming in. Today we brought out little guy into the VET to get neutered and microchipped. We did know in advance that one of his testicles never dropped and descended and possibly in his groin/abdomen and not be too concerned. Well the doctor was having a real tough time finding it and his blood pressure and temperature dropped to seriously low levels. In order to preserve his life the procedure could not be completed and they are trying to stabilize him in recovery. I’m so nervous and anxious beyond belief. He will need to heal and see a specialist for another surgery as that testicle needs to come out to avoid disease or cancer down the road. Also upon evaluation today the vet determined that he has ‘many’ baby teeth that are impacting his adult teeth from coming in and needs to see a dental specialist late next week. The vet vet was only to pull a few this morning but needs that dental consult etc. I’m so shocked to go through this right now and even more so knowing that a very tiny 3.5 lb 6 month old puppy needs to go under Anesthesia two more times when it seems his body is so sensitive to it in the first place. Has anybody gone through something similar to put me at ease? It’s a really good VET but wondering if they made a mistake by not doing an ultrasound first in hindsight. We lost a healthy 8 yo last year so I’m still dealing with that trauma on top of this. He’s a fully AKC silky and comes from a strong championship line of show dogs on his lineage. I will be talking this over with his breeder as well to see the if she has seen both of this genetically in her litters.
Our vet decided to order a fecal sample on our 4 month old at his shots and it came back positive for Giardia. We had no idea or visible signs on our end the poor little guy had a parasite but he’s always sniffing his head in the ground on walks and got it that way. He’s on Day 2/5 of Panacur in his kibble food and it’s making him overly hyper and restless like bouncing off the walls, etc. Waiting for a callback from the Vet on it. Has anyone dealt with Giardia and this RX and its side effects on them? We go back on the 20th for another test to see if he’s cleared up.
Started in December 2024 at A1C of 6.9 and glucose 135. Currently on 10 mg injection weekly and A1C is now 5.3 and glucose is 101. I’m so happy with these results to be in ‘full remission’ by my medical team, and the 53 lb weight loss over that timespan has been a double bonus. 51 yo male, current weight 183. I owe so much gratitude to Mounjaro and hope other T2D’s are seeing the same results for a long, healthy life! I will be on Monjauro for the remainder of my days on Earth and that’s ok with virtually no side effects. Just wanted to share this awesome news to the great people here!
I’ve been coming here for many years now and found it so informative, uplifting and beneficial on my own personal path. I have learned and applied so much. Presently, all it seems are the same recycled posts of “I’m 30 with 2 to 3 million dollars net worth, can I or am I on the path to FIRE?” Or I have 5 million saved, “Can I afford to buy a new car or take a vacation or buy new clothes?”
It’s usually just days or hours old accounts too with no karma and probably just bots, AI or LARPers aiming for attention or rage baiting. However, it gets so much engagement and commentary which is baffling from true and honest good people. Like other subs, maybe some minimum karma may weed all that slop out if not actively monitored. I do like when younger folks ask for advice to learn etc and show real earnest interest in FIRE strategies, or folks give a whole rundown of real numbers, so don’t get me wrong there. Am I the only one who feels that way?
