Dad believes my mum has made up her & my brothers' disabilities? How do I get through to him?

I (22F) have been in a bit of a pickle for a while...

There's probs a few questions here.

Whats the best way to deal/work with/ teach someone who doesnt believe in mental illness/doubt professional diagnoses?

Does anyone have experience with a family member denying the existence of mental illness in their family and blaming it on someone having hypochondria instead?

My mum, and two older brothers have a mixture of bipolar, ADHD, autism and dyslexia. Times have been tough, lots of violence from my eldest brother and mum at times (my mum is medicated bipolar, and my eldest brother has suspected bipolar but unmedicated/refuses to get treatment - along with his severe ADHD & dyslexia).

We all live at home. My mum hasn't worked since having children. My dad is a workaholic, so we are comfortable financially. (My dad was pretty absent working away while going up)

My eldest brother is 26 and has only held a job for 1month, and dropped out of highschool. He is not very mentally stable.

And my other brother, 24, has never had a job but he is autistic so he has had his hurdles too - in the last month he has gotten on disability pension tho (W!).

A big problem i am having is trying to get through to my dad. He seems to have created this fantasy story in his head - which conveniently blames everything on my mum (i.e. its her fault my brothers' are dependent jobless adults).

He simply believes my mum has hypochondria and has made up all my brothers diagnoses and her mental illness/health diagnoses. He believes she's 'doctor shopped' to get what she's wants and has given my brothers excuses to 'not try' (aka the classic unempathic parent reaction to ADHD in a child response lol).

Anyways It feels like a dead end trying to get through to him and my mum is getting so weak carrying all the blame/guilt he puts on her.

TLDR: My dad believes my mum is hypochondriac and denies multiple professional diagnoses of disabilities/mental illness in the family. He believes these disabilities have given/taught brothers reason to never try, be bludgers and have temper tantrums. (His words not mine lol)

If anyone has any advice at all, pls let me know I'll be grateful cause yeah it's quite chaotic, and I really can't think of a way to convince my dad.

(Apologies for bad grammar or typos, it's 2am... you know, peak deep thoughts and contemplating time!! but its at the cost of being inversely proportional to coherent sentence writing ability lol)

I want to be able to have a hobby!!

All my spare time is taken up by sleep.

Any day off, any quiet afternoon, any free morning. It's just turns into a constant battle against my body trying to sleep.

I try to read, I fall asleep, I try to craft, I fall asleep. I try to gather the energy to get up and ready for an outdoor activity, and it's the most exhausting mental gymnastics to get up from horizontal positioning, usually resulting in me submitting and falling asleep.

Ugh. UGH. I feel I am just time skipping my life! So frustrating! So much time I could be doing things that fulfill my being, but instead I seem to only be able to access energy when something is obligated of me, aka work and like commitments I've made to people. I feel like I can't be independent because the second something isnt obligated/effecting other people, sleep always wins. Self care is so hard. When noone is watching, all I do is sleep.

I am so envious of my peers who are able to have so much energy and time on their hands. Its made me realise how much being an "interesting person" is a privilege... I want it so bad.

I want to be able to have an answer to "so what do you do for fun?" With more than just "sleep!" (Which people just play off as me joking... dude I wish).

AND the sick thing is, I fcking love sleep so damn much. It's so fun. It's SO comforting and freeing to give into the sleep demon I'm constantly fighting.... but the retrospective emptiness (call it Post Nap Clarity lol) i am left with after a nap, I feel so shameful with the time I wasted and unfilled with the life I wasted.

I think about this topic so much. It feels so unfair.

I just want my spare time back.

I just want to be able to have a hobby...

If people have felt similar and have worked on methods to help this feeling, please let me know :) love you guys. You r the only ones that fully get it ♡.

My Screen time is getting so bad bc I love to see a feminist in flow state

Guys I just needed to vent how much I love listening to videos of such intelligent and eloquently spoken feminists!!

I'm ADDICTED, it's all my for you pages are, on like every app. I can't stop, it makes me feel so passionate. Such an emotional roller-coaster lol.

Mainly, the feelings of "🤯🤯OMG SOMEONE GETS IT!!🤩 FINALLY OMG I LOVE YOU🤓". And. "Ugh 🤮 patriarchy, that mfer is everywhere😤... I hope the men in my life see this🙄."

You know those videos when the creator just starts talking and they reach this flow state. Words and perspectives of such depth and power just pour out. It seems so effortless yet so passionate. Ugh I love it.

I want to pick at these people's brains so bad.

Creators like the unpunishable woman and zkiaba come to mind.

Women are so beautiful and intelligent. Literally fills my heart with joy (and injustice lol) when I see a woman passionate discussing social norms.

I also love Men Ally videos, I feel like I'm a spy/an undercovered detective 🕵‍♂️.

SERIOUSLY tho, I gotta studyy! Ugh but I just wanna listen to these feminist flow states for HOURS ALL DAY. Sigh.

They get me so riled up, and I find it so hard to self regulate to get back into study mindset.

(I study electrical eng, so much work is tedious and understimulating, I can't focus)

So if anyone has any tips on regulating my emotions after consuming feminist content, pls lemme know!! For now, ima try some breathing exercises lol. Love you guys!
