I open-sourced an IPTV player and people are still quitting their jobs to build media players. So I added more features.

last month I posted here that I open-sourced my iptv player so nobody has to quit their job. checked reddit last week and people are still quitting their jobs to build media players.

since that post blew up we're at 4k+ users and 600+ on discord. wild, because I built this for my wife so we didn't have to pay for tivimate, which doesn't sync and doesn't run on her iphone.

what people actually use it for:

  • iptv: m3u, xtream, stalker
  • add-ons
  • phone, android tv, fire stick, iphone, mac, windows, and apple tv in beta
  • free sync between all of them, account optional
  • sports centre, the favourite: follow your teams and it finds every stream showing the match
  • backup urls, so if a stream dies it switches over

Android TV / Fire TV code 5040595

I open-sourced an IPTV app so people don't have to quit their jobs.

I saw a couple of posts where people were quitting their jobs to build a media player, so I built an app that supports IPTV and made it free.

TUVORA: https://tuvora.co/

Features include:

  1. IPTV

  2. Xtream, Stalker, and M3U

  3. A sports center (better than ImPlayer)

  4. Cross-device sync (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Android TV)

  5. Stremio-style add-ons

The plan is to add Jellyfin and Emby integration in the future if I lose my job.

ps. nuvio fork

Tuvora: Nuvio + IPTV(Xtream+stalker) + Sports Centre

Saw a couple of posts asking for an IPTV addon/plugin. Addons and plugins are great for movies and series, but for live TV they're just not built for it. So I built this on top of Nuvio.

You get everything Nuvio already does, plus a separate tab made for IPTV:

  • live TV with a timeline EPG guide that keeps playing while you scroll
  • M3U, Xtream Codes and Stalker portals — add several at once
  • built-in EPG
  • Sports Centre: follow any league or team in the world, and when a game's on it shows you exactly which of your channels is carrying it — across all your playlists, with a play button on each. NFL and the football season kick off in a couple weeks, so it's ready for it.
  • cross-device sync — playlists and progress follow you between phone, TV and desktop
  • Simkl sign-in
  • offline downloads + as many playlists as you want
  • apps for iOS, Android phone, Android TV / Fire TV, Mac and Windows

it's free and fully open source, all credit to Nuvio for the base.

you bring your own playlist — please don't ask me for providers.

tuvora- Free IOS, Android and pc/mac iptv player

Many of you saw my last post about the IPTV player with a sports center, and I got 100+ comments and suggestions.

Also, we now have 300+ users and are growing.

The main reason I built this app was because of my wife. She has an iPhone, and any IPTV app that looked decent was behind a paywall, or some features were behind a paywall. So, as anyone with a CS degree would do, I built the app, paid the $100/year Apple developer fee, plus millions of AI tokens, all to avoid paying for a cheap IPTV player.

Since I was going to invest time and money into this, I wanted to solve major problems with IPTV players:

  1. Clean UI

  2. Most IPTV has a large library for VOD

  3. As smooth as Tivimate

  4. Sports center

  5. Cross-device sync

  6. Simkl support

  7. Stalker portal support (I wish I hadn't gone into this rabbit hole)

  8. Multiple playlists (I haven't added any upper limit, so try to break it by adding 100 playlists)

  9. Offline download

  10. Built-in EPG

  11. Ability to choose DNS providers.

The app is currently in beta and wife-approved.

Tuvora week 1 update: ~300 installs, 11 of your requests shipped (and our subreddit got banned along the way)

Week 1 update:

After my first post about tuvora last week,300+ of you installed it in one week. I also tried to create a community on reddit and it got banned the same day

Most of the feature requests were around the sports centre and adding local leagues, so that's where the week went. Everything below came from someone in that thread:

  • you can add leagues yourself
  • you can follow a single team instead of a whole league. cricket works too — IPL, T20, ODI
  • fire stick / cheap box crash loops — building the channel index was eating all the RAM on 1GB boxes. It streams to disk now. If the app crash looped on you last week, update it, it shouldn't anymore
  • resolution / codec / bitrate readout while playing
  • windows: you could get into the player and never get back out. fixed
  • the phone fullscreen hang is fixed too
  • simkl sign-in works now
  • you can clear live channels out of continue watching on phone and desktop, TV is next
  • also two things nobody asked for but needed doing: live channels that silently freeze now reconnect themselves, and movies/series show posters right away instead of a wall of grey boxes

What I owe and haven't done yet:

  • minimise the player / PiP. Someone asked, I said "next update", and it wasn't in the next update. It's top of the list
  • hiding individual channels inside a category
  • apple TV is genuinely in progress, weeks not days
  • still no multiview, catch-up or recording. Not hiding it

The football season starts this weekend, so the sports centre is ready for it. If you manage to break it, let me know in the comments.

If you haven't heard of tuvora: it's an IPTV player for your own playlist (M3U, Xtream, Stalker) — same app on iOS (TestFlight for now), Android TV and boxes, Android phone, Mac and Windows, with an optional account so your playlists and progress follow you between devices. Fully open source, all features are free. Credit to Nuvio — this project is built on top of it.

saw a post where people requested iptv addon

This is not an add-on, but I have built it on top of Nuvio open-source code.

It works just like Nuvio, but it has all the IPTV player features like sports center, live TV, EPG, etc.

https://tuvora.co/

Check it out and let me know if you want additional features or if something breaks.

It's on iOS (TestFlight), Android TV, Android phone, Windows, and Mac.

I got tired of scrolling 800 channels to find the match, so I built an IPTV player with a sports guide

Every weekend, same thing. Game kicks off in five minutes and I'm scrolling past forty channels all called some variation of SPORT 1 HD.

So I built Tuvora. It's an IPTV player with cross device sync, addon support(like streamio/nuvio), sports centre and many more

Sport centre: you follow a league/sport , and when there's a fixture it tells you which of your channels is showing it. The actual list of channels carrying that match, across all your playlists, with a play button on each.

The rest of it: M3U (url or file), Xtream Codes and Stalker portals, several at once. Live TV with a timeline guide that keeps playing while you scroll it. TMDB artwork on your VOD so it stops being a wall of filenames. An optional account, and then your playlists and watch progress follow you to the TV. And you can add a playlist to the TV by scanning a QR with your phone, because typing a stalker portal URL with a d-pad is miserable.

Free, no pro tier, GPL and the source is public. You don't need an account to use it.

Works on Android TV, Fire TV, phone, iOS and desktop: https://tuvora.co

Have a go at breaking it.

(Can't help you find a provider, please don't ask here or in DMs.)

Open AI TTS sucks.

I am building a Voice AI platform and accidentally switch the TTS model to openai model \*not realtime\* and saw latency spike to \~3-4s

What are the TTS model that has given better latency results?

I am have used deepgrama and on an average it give under \~1s

building a voice ai platform

I need some feedback or pain points that I can solve for people building voice AI.

Current features I am building:

* Connector ecosystem for major players in TTS, STT, and LLM providers

* Built-in VAD for turn detection and barge-in

* PII detection

* Prompt guardian (for input, output, and tool calls)

* Built-in telephony

* Exposed SIP or WS endpoint( playground for testing)

* Built-in memory for callers

* Recording and transcript

* Security

* MCP

If you'd like to follow along on the journey dm me

Some fun features I have built:

* Gave Claude code access to telephony (this gives Claude the ability to make external phone calls)

* Building a connector that will help local deployment of any agents to be exposed as an agent with phone number attached, something like a Cloudflare connector but for voice AI.
