SEEKING ADVICE- fall prevention for father

Anyone else constantly worried about your parent falling when you're not there? My father recently had a close save in the bathroom. And i am very concerned.

Has anyone tried any solutions? something that worked, what did not?

SEEKING SUGGESTIONS- wearable to de-stress and help in habit building

Hello guys! I am a neuroscience researcher working on anxiety and mental models. I am exploring a space in wearables where the device detects triggers and calms you down, and coaches you to prevent smoking among other things. I have been trying really hard to reach out to people who would be interested to talk and walk me through the problems that you face with quitting. I promise to respect time and want to understand what breaks, what works and what have you already tried. I will share all findings here, from my offline and online survey for everyone's benefit! Thank you

Edit:-

Some general questions I was hoping to ask are as follows (feel free to answer any, whichever you are comfortable with/or feel free to ask me to DM, we can talk on DMs):-

1. What's the hardest moment of your day when the urge hits? (time of day, what you were doing, who you were with)

2. When you've tried to quit before, what was the thing that made you go back to smoking again? (stress, boredom, social situations, something else?)

3. Do you feel the urge coming before it peaks, or does it hit you suddenly?

4. What have you already tried? (patches, gum, Wellbutrin, Chantix, apps, hypnosis — what worked even a little, what did nothing)

5. If something could catch your stress spike before the craving hits and physically calm you down in the moment — would that be more useful than willpower-based tools?

6. How much are you currently spending on cigarettes per month?

7. What would "problem solved" look like for you

FOUNDING TEAM- DeepTECH/Wellness-Wearable startup

Hi everyone, I am a biotech graduate from IIT, building in consumer neurotech. I am in the process of validating the market, gaining feedback and signing up for preorders. We are building a consumer neurotech device from India for the world. I have a provisional patent filed, a few clinical advisors on board and am now looking to work with a hardware engineer as a founding member. If you have previously built medical products, gadgets or devices and have high agency to take multiple roles, DM.

SEEKING ADVICE!- looking to talk to people who tried VNS devices

I am a neuroscience researcher and have been exploring the space of taVNS. We have been trying really hard to reach out to users of VNS devices. Feedback will help us understand better and solve for a better device (if needed). I respect everyone's time and wish to have a small chat about what worked for you, what did not and what could be better. I promise to share my my findings (raw and inferred) here on the subreddit for everyone.

Thank you!!

WTF, I had the best sleep in the last 6 months (taVNS)

I have been suffering from bad sleep- never diagnosed, but groggy morning and low energy in the morning. I recently read about vagus nerve stimulation and bought a TENS 7000 device with ear clips. My HRV improved. Did not feel subjective feeling of calmness, but i felt that my morning are better. Has anyone else tried such devices? What has your experience been? Thinking of upgrading to a a proper product.

Vagus nerve stimulation devices

Hello guys! i am a neuroscience grad researcher and have been exploring the space of vns for quite some time. I have tried tens 7000 with ear clips and noticed my HRV improving. Yet, i did not feel any subjective calmness. Is this experience similar to other people? I was also curious to know about the other devices everyone is using, and what you felt did not work when you used them. I also feel current vns devices lack closed loop tracking which can be a game-changer

Are other devices better than TENS7000

Hello guys
i am a neuroscience grad researcher and have been exploring the space of vns for quite some time. I have tried tens 7000 with ear clips and noticed my HRV improving. Yet, i did not feel any subjective calmness. Is this experience similar to other people? I was also curious to know about the other devices everyone is using, and what you felt did not work when you used them. The benefits seem to be crazy based on literature and reports.
