Ever heard of UNSC Stealth Raiders and Ambushers?

Ambushed a Convenant Fleet with 14 Razor-Class and 8 Sahara-Class Prowlers, each one of them equiped with Thermonuclear SHIVA Missiles, destroyed 1 CAS, 1 ORS, 1 CPV, 1 CCS, and 10 DAS withouth losing a single ship.
The trick is to fire the SHIVA and then immediatly turn cloaking on again, they are defenseless that way.

An interesting thought, do you think there was anything that could've made Pellaeon desert the Empire before the Battle of Yavin and join the Alliance as Dodonna did?

From what I've gathered Pellaeon was a 'good man' and not a psycopath, and in some places it is said that unlike many other Republic officers he actually cared about the lives of his Clone troopers and considered them as full soldiers worthy of respect.
I'm quite sure he would not have nearly as great of a role within the Alliance as the one he had with the Imperial Remnant, but what do you think?? Could he have turned if he saw something particulary unsettling?

Well... this is more difficult than I thought

What really is difficult is that I can't see shit, compared to Thrawn's Revenge where the whole map is visible.
Any advise on how to play AOTCW?

So... I don't know just an Imperial Remnant Fleet to fight peer NR fleets

Lots of conventional turbolaser firepower but also 'balanced' with the 14 Victory Is' concussion missiles, the Ton-Falks and the Secutor's fighters, the medium weapons of the 62 Enforcers and almost one hundred Lancer frigates, plus Altors and Star Galleons so the ships can keep functioning.

Mind you this is a Fleet of the stablished and consolidated Imperial Remnant that has Axxila, Yaga Minor and Jaemus as major shipyards behind it, plus the economic and manpower might of the former Pentastar Alignment's space, this is not thought to be a "hunting" fleet or one designed to operate in the quick attack and maneuver operations similar to the ones that happenned during the Orinda Campaign.

This is a Heavy Fleet whose purpose is to trade fire with the enemy in a cinematic, honest and honourable gentlemen's fight, just as God intended.

Your thoughts guys?? Feel free to comment or ask about anything.

By your knowledge and opinion, how long does a Mediator survive against this?

Withouth the Superlaser and also, how much damage does it cause to the Assertor, if any?

An interesting tactical thought

HEAR ME OUT.

First of all, Interdiction itself is not a bad idea or a bad tactic, in fact it is obviously one of the best tactics one can employ in any battle, not only because it avoids the enemy from fleeing, but because it enables one's own forces to realize hyper-precise jumps during battle that allows you to outmaneuver the enemy.

However, I just realized this, see, for most engagements, you don't want to give the enemy a way to escape, this is at its truest whenever the Rebels slip off the Empire's fingers, and for example where you want to capture, or really destroy, the enemy ship in question, for example at the Battle of Orinda where the Executor-Class Star Dreadnought Lusankya slipped away from the Imperial Remnant's, Pellaeon's and Rogriss' fingers.

This is the general rule for most battles, you want to destroy the enemy so you don't have to face them later, at least that's how I see it, I haven't read Clausewitz and Mahan yet, the thing is, I have read a little Sun Tzu, who wrote in The Art of War: "When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard", basically, you should leave an exit for your enemy so he tries to flee through that gap, he grows desperate, coward and foolish, but, if you don't leave an exit, you don't leave him any option, but to fight, and as the Mongols said, "fleeing soldiers can be killed more easily than those who, with their backs to a wall, are forced to fight to the death".

Of course, there are examples and examples, for instance in the renowned Battle of Cannae Hannibal completely sorrounded the Roman army and slaughtered it to the last, ending in a total Carthaginian victory.

NOW BACK TO STAR WARS.

The point is, in most cases the side using Interdiction wants to destroy the enemy or force it to surrender, and more importantly, they can afford it, they can afford to fight the enemy ships making a last stand with their backs to the wall, and afterwards replenish their looses.

However, in some instances, for the Imperial Remnant's case in example, you can not afford excess casualties, you can barely afford any loses at all, so, when you have a situation like in image 2 (maybe that's a bad example but meh), you have completely surrounded them, they can't escape because of the Interdictors, and the battle is, by all means, won... but, what guarantees you that the enemy is going to surrender, instead of fighting to the last, and taking as many of you with them while doing so?

Cases like in image 2 are not that bad, that Mediator is probably going to cause a lot of damage along with the other ships but it is tolerable, however in larger battles with 100, 200, 300 and more ships on each side... (like it should be having in mind both sides have a backbone of trillions of citizens and an enormous war machine, Sublight Drive always recommended.)

Can you really afford to finish off in a last stand grinding battle dozens of capital ships? Can the Imperial Remnant risk loosing a dozen Star Destroyers with their veteran crews? If the NR ships can't escape by any means a route won't happen, and then mentality changes from escape, to fight to death, and the damage that could be taken in that finishing phase of the battle could be too much for the limited Imperial resources after Endor.

To summarize, if you put an enemy with its back against the wall and don't leave it any other way out, its only option is to fight, and even if you're going to win that fight, you could get out of it with more damage than you can sustain.
So, what do you think guys? Did I overthink too much? Do you see any way to remediate this? Lets make Thrawn, Trench and the Battle Hydra proud in comments, good day, night and evening to all of you.

I'm the most begginer one can possibly be, I literally don't know how to use color in here, so I don't know how obvious this is but why do some things move differently from others?? Why does the hull of the ISD move so much compared to the other parts???
To sum it up, how do I make it so all models move uniformly and not some moving more than others??

(It's a long read, but I recommend it, it gives context for the Operation and adds some nice bits of lore)

17 ABY, the Black Fleet Crisis between the Yevetha and the New Republic has just ended, weeks after the Battle of N'zoth Major Sil Sorannan and his crewmates of Camp Pa'aal Squadron arrive at Bilbringi with the Star Dreadnoughts Intimidator and Cerberus, and around 24 capital ships of former Black Sword Command accompanying them, the Imperial ships were in a dire state after traversing a section of the Unknown Regions in order to reach Imperial Space after they reorganized at the abandoned/automatized Fortress World of Byss.

Sorannan later informed Imperial High Command that he and his Squadron, while being able to recover most of the Black Fleet after escaping N'zoth and reorganizing at Byss, were not able to bring the full might of the lost command, having to scuttle the Star Dreadnought Aramadia, a modified Mandator III-Class, 11 Imperial-Class Star Destroyers, 1 Communications Battlecruiser, 1 Praetor II-Class Battlecruiser, 1 Sorannan-Class Battlecruiser and 8 Victory-Class Star Destroyers some light years away from Byss, to ensure that they could not land in New Republic hands, while the Supreme Commander and High Command lamented the loss of such a mighty force, Sorannan and Camp Pa'aal Squadron were still congratulated for their return, receiving high promotions in the Imperial Remnant's chain of command and being awarded several of the highest military medals and honors, as well as the offer of retirement with the full pension of a high-ranking military officer in whichever Imperial planet they desired.

However, weeks later, the matter of the 'lost' Ships was brought again into consideration, as Imperial agents inside the New Republic reported a significant discovery, the New Republic 5th Fleet in their exhausting efforts of searching and hunting down any Yevethan elements still in fighting feet had discovered the scuttled ships of Black Sword Command , and found that the Star Dreadnought Aramadia, along with 2 of the Battlecruisers and 14 of the Star Destroyers had, while suffered nearly catastrophic damage, miraculously survived the scuttling (likely to partial detonations or energy shortages during scuttling), drifting severely crippled but still salvageable in the void.

In hopes of gaining and edge in their still ongoing and seemingly even conflict against the Imperial Remnant, the New Republic High Command had ordered the 5th Fleet to tow the abandoned Imperial ships to the Shipyards of Fondor, where they would be repaired and put back into fighting condition to be used by the New Republic Defense Fleet, along with the already present elements of the 5th that were currently being tended in Fondor.

After learning of this vital information, Imperial High Command decided to take significant action into the matter, not wishing to allow the New Republic to addition their 8th Star Dreadnought to their forces, Guardian's loss was still present in their minds, and Bastion considered that it was vital to regain Aramadia due to [REDACTED] still being in construction, all in order to increase their chances of survival against the numerically superior New Republic Navy.

Thus, Supreme Commander Gilad Pellaeon and Fleet Admiral Teren Rogriss devised a plan, with help of Project Cartographer, which had been installed in Reaper, a temporary Hyperspace corridor that connected the Imperial outpost at the Utegetu Nebula to the Byss Run at the Deep Core was successfully created, tested, and maintained, its duration being estimated in around a month by Imperial analysts, after this another shorter corridor was created, this one connecting Byss to the end of the Rimma Trade Route at Abregado-rae, giving the Imperial Remnant a direct route to the Fondor Shipyards, even if temporary. (See 2nd image for reference)

With the route stabilized, the Imperial strike force was assembled, consisting of:

  • The Executor-Class Reaper, led by S.C G. Pellaeon and carrying now High Colonel Sorannan with him.
  • The Bellator-Class Dominion, led by F.A T. Rogriss
  • 3 Secutor-Class Battlecarriers
  • 21 Imperial-Class Star Destroyers
  • 12 Victory-Class Star Destroyers
  • 6 Immobilizer 418-Class Interdictor Cruisers
  • 12 Ton-Falk-Class Escort Carriers
  • 32 Lancer-Class Frigates
  • 24 Tartan-Class Frigates

(See 1st image for reference)

The significant size of the strike force meant that it was composed by between 15 and 25% of the Imperial Remnant's available offensive ships, Reaper's and Dominion's defense roles being temporarily covered by the (still unknown to the NR) Megador and the repaired Cerberus, renamed to Triunfante after it was relaunched, both Mandator III-Class.

Finally, after weeks of preparations and the confirmation of Imperial agents in Fondor that the ships were in Hyperspace worthy condition, the Imperial Strike Force departed the Fortress World Ansion, towards the outpost at the Utegetu Nebula and eventually Byss and Fondor, the later's defenses being unprepared but still formidable, the Imperial's objective being to regain control of Aramadia and the rest of the repairing Black Fleet ships, aiming to reactivate the slave circuits with H.C Sorannan's help, as well as secondarily aiming to strike the repairing ships of the 5th Fleet and to crippled or destroy as many of Fondor's Orbital Shipyards as reasonably possible.

Aaaand that's it, what do you think guys? Its mostly a recovery operation, hence the name, Recaption, what would you change in this planning? Feel free to ask any questions in comments, thank you.
