Award Booking Changes

With the new changes in relation to award bookings, my understanding is that I cannot book for anyone in my family in addition to me (correct me if I’m wrong). I am traveling with my 11 year old daughter. Since I can’t use my Avois for her and she’s underage, it’s asking me to book her as a solo traveler. Will it be complicated if I turn up at the airport with her? I plan to purchase our seats together. The flight has two legs. Has anyone bought two separate tickets for themselves and a child? What was your experience?

6 month validity

My US passport expires on Jan 26th, 2027, and I’m flying out of Ghana on July 28th 2026. I have a layover at the Doha airport, and arrive in the US on July 29th. Will the expiration date be a problem? This is pertaining to the 6 month validity rule. Yes, I know I’m not applying for
a visa to go anywhere, but I don’t want any problems when leaving Ghana or during my layover. There is no intent to leave the airport in Qatar.

When applying for the Vietnamese e-visa, it says middle name and given name (first name). Does that mean I need to put my middle name before my first name? I’m confused because right above it, it says it should match what’s in my passport but my passport has it in the reverse order.

Travel Consent for Minors

If you travel internationally with your kids, do custom officers in other countries ask for consent letters from the other parent if they are absent? I’ve travelled internationally with my daughter solo a number of times and the letter is never asked for. I’m wondering if I should bother with it this time around. For more context, the countries I have been with her and not been asked are the UK, Japan, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, and Ghana.
