Malwarebytes Browser Guard and ads when on youtube.com

Malwarebytes Browser Guard and ads when on youtube.com

My environment:

Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension version 3.3.2

Chrome Browser Version 151.0.7922.137 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Windows 11 Home version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.9168)

My issue:

Within Chrome, I go to youtube.com

Once there, I get a Malwarebytes Browser Guard popup that reads

=====================================

Want to block YouTube ads?

Ad blocking on YouTube is off.

Click the Malwarebytes icon in your toolbar

to turn it on. You can turn it off anytime.

Don't show again

=====================================

If I click on the Malwarebytes Browser Guard icon in my Chrome toolbar, I get a windows that show

PROTECTED

Site settings for youtube.com

Ads/Tracker, Malware and Scam are all enabled.

If I click on "Don't show again", the popup goes away.

If I click on the Malwarebytes Browser Guard icon, I see that Ads/Tracker has been disabled and I see youtube ads for every video I watch within the Chrome Browser..

If I re-enable Ads\Tracker via the Malwarebytes Browser Guard icon for youtube.com, end my youtube session (NOT chrome) and go to youtube.com anew, I DON'T get that popup, and when watching a youtube video, I no longer see ads.

BUT, if I completely end Chrome

Restart Chrome and then go to youtube.com

Ads/Tracker is still enabled in Malwarebytes Browser Guard

I DON'T see the original popup BUT, every video I choose to watch, shows ads.

So far, this only happens with youtube.com.

My questions:

What is going on ?

Is it possible for me to disable youtube ads via Malwarebytes Browser Guard ?

I'm so confused.

Thanks for any replies.

Does Google maps accept voice requests ?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A15 5G running Android version 16 and the latest version of Google maps.

I do NOT have a digital assistant (Google or Gemini) enabled on my phone.

I know that Google Maps reads directions and other information while I am driving.

And I use Google maps pretty frequently.

I would like to ask Google maps without touching my phone screen, to navigate to a Google contact address or a specific address or to a specific business name or a Google Maps saved place.

I just don't want to touch the phone if I don't need to.

Is such a thing possible and how would I make that work ?

Thanks.

Does navigation when Gemini is the assistant, work for anyone ?

Recently, I read posts on this sub, about emails that people are receiving saying the Classis Google digital Assistant will be going away in early September.

Sooooo

I switch to the Gemini digital assistant to test all the things that work in the classic Google digital assistant.

I haven't tested everything yet but one thing that doesn't work (for me) is navigation.

When I say, Hey Google, take me to <Google contact name), I get a reply that says "No address saved on file for <contact name>. Please provide a specific address or destination to get navigation directions."

Gemini CAN use the telephone number in my contacts if I ask to call a contact.

The same is true if I ask Gemini to send a text or email to a contact.

It just doesn't seem to read the addresses stored inside my Google contacts.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A15 5G with Android 16 and the latest version of Google & Gemini apps.

Does navigation work for anyone using contact addresses and the Gemini digital assistant ?

If so, I'd be interested in learning how you are doing it (So I can do it as well.)

Thanks

When starting GV on my win 11 laptop, the app wants me to verify my ID

I have had and used a Google voice number for years.

I am currently logged into google and using several Google apps. (IE: GMail, Calendar, etc.) without issue.

However, when I start GV on my Win 11 laptop, the GV app indicates that I don't have a GV voice number (I DO. Have had it for years.) and that I need to verify my identity.

I can see my Google account icon (my face) in the upper right corner of the GV app. so I know I am already logged into Google.

If I agree to verify my ID, I get a display on my Samsung phone that asks me to enter my drivers license number, passport info (or 2 other forms of ID) and that Google will attempt to verify what I enter.

I have never had to do such a thing before, and I am wondering if this is legitimate.

And of course why it is asking me to do so.

Any help clarification as to what is occurring would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I need to buy a new rider.

I only need a 30" deck cuz I need somethin with a very tight turning radius (I have a bunch of shrubs and trees in a very small yard. (1/3 acre) to get around.

Anyway, after watching lots of you tube videos, it seems as if most of the mowers at the big box stores will die (either the engine or the transmission) after 140 hours of use (or so.)

AND things like the transmissions are throw away and can't really be serviced. If broken, they must be replaced. (To the tune of 1800 to 2000.)

So, I was wondering if anyone has some experience with these newer mowers and might give me some brand and model number suggestions,

Thanks

I own a Craftsman T1400 rider and have no issues with it at all.

My goal, is to buy a 4 point socket that I can use to remove the oil plug. I usually use an open end wrench but there simply isn't enough room.

People say to use an adjustable wrench and that CAN work.

But it's a pain the butt cuz of the lack of room.

A 4 point socket of the correct size (whatever that would be) would be ideal.

Anyone know what the correct size might be ?
