A planner that I can start to use this month?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure on which planner to get, or if I should get a 2027 dated planner. The reason being that I will start using one, but we only have 3 months left in the year. I don't want to buy a 2026 just to leave more than half empty. Any ideas?

A quote to ease your grief a little bit.

Hi everyone. I’m not a stranger to the process you are going through. I think I have to share that my ex dumped me over a text message after 7 years and almost 2 living together. She took all her stuff and one cat while I was away and couldn’t do anything.

So yeah. I relate to the pain. It’s been almost two months since she went away but I’m already at a better place. In fact, today I deleted permanently all videos and photos I had with her. It was painful and difficult, but had to be done. Not as painful as the first month of my grief, but still, it hurt seeing all those memories in pictures go away.

Enough of me, read a little bit of Seneca and have a lovely day:

“if fate can be overcome by weeping, let us resort to weeping; let every day be spent in grieving, let sleepless misery consume the night; let our hands pummel our bruised breasts, let our very faces come under attack, and let sorrow, to advance its cause, employ every kind of cruelty. But if no breast-beating can bring back the dead, if fate, unchanging and fixed for eternity, is not altered by any distress, and death keeps whatever it has taken, let there be an end to a grief that is just being wasted”

Playing with my dude to the tune of paranoid while doing house chores

Today is a milestone for me. One month of no contact. I’ll admit the last three days were really fucking painful, fortunately yesterday I was able to see my therapist and cried for the whole session.

So, my advice is that you avoid as if it’s poison any kind of reels, videos, instagram posts, facebook posts or whatever that mention your past relationship. They can mention it like “hey she/he was the worst” or “she/he may reach you back” or “how to win back an avoidant” or “alpha protocol to win/forget your ex”.

Really do yourself a favor and don’t even look at it, tap the options and select I’m not interested.

Trust me, content creators are there just to monetize your attention and pain. Fuck em.

What you want to do is:

- Go to therapy (specially when you feel really bad, explain all your triggers and beliefs)
- Read philosophy (I am a big stoic advocate, however it’s not the only philosophy or way around, avoid influencer style stoicism, it’s just wrong)
- Practice meditation, get a book on meditation
- Listen symphonic, classical, blues or jazz music
- Go out and walk listening to an insightful podcast
- Exercise (Even when you don’t want to go)
- Eat healthy (even when you don’t want to eat)
- Talk with several friends and go out

It’s going to be painful. This isn’t a cure. It’s damage control and the establishment of new healthy hobbies and routines without your ex. With this I mean that I have cried doing almost all of those activities. But consistency is key.

Don’t drink, consume drugs or search for a quick fling. Transform your suffering into strength.

And really just avoid that crap of social media posts. They are not helpful. You are just reminding yourself of your ex with different stimuli when what you should be doing is focusing on yourself.

Thanks.

Hi there. My (33 M) first post here.

After a relationship with my ex gf (33) of seven years where we lived together for a year and a half she dumped me.

She dumped me while I was away traveling to visit my family (she was also traveling, but arrived at home 1 day before me, I think). She texted me that the last couple of days she was feeling completely alone in the relationship, and that she hoped I was going to be able to find someone that loved and admired me at least half of how much she did, that she will always be mine. But to please don’t look for her at her job or call her. That she needed to heal.

The reason of her loneliness as far as I can tell is because we had an argument 5 days before she left and I stopped messaging/talking to her because, even though I was expressing what was hurting me she wasn’t repairing. Even though after one day I was trying to reach out to her and inviting her to go out, although my attempts weren’t successful. While we were both traveling I even suggested to stop and visit her father because it was his birthday and I had present, however she just kept telling me “tomorrow” until I stopped asking (of course the reason behind this was to talk with her again).

So one day before I arrived home I texted her that there were some issues with my flight and that I was worried about the cats and the amount of food we left. She answered me that everything was ok, she was already at home, but that she was going to leave me. In that message she even said that she loved me a lot, and that she wanted a life with me, but the feeling of loneliness was too much and she had to let me go.

Again this last bit is really confusing for me as before our argument we were really having a nice time, going out to places, watching movies, having dates, etc.

She lost her mom due to cancer 2 years ago. I was there through the thick and thin, in fact I think I became her only source of happiness after that event. I managed to pull her out of that depression.

While we lived together she lost her job twice and of course I supported her, I even told her to not worry and take her time finding a job she really liked. She got really sick twice and I was there for her, getting her meds, cooking for her and special diet, etc.

I was the one that cooked for us and I also prepared lunch. I gifted her a kindle, jailbreaked the damn thing and taught her how to use it; I even personalized it for her.

When she had an idea about starting a business or something I always was on board. Maybe I didn’t have enough capital to cover all the expenses but I told her, I can help you with 50% and count me in, I’ll be helping you with the work.

I was really for her through thick and thin, good times and bad times. I didn’t care. Depression, sickness, unemployment, whatever, I was there for her.

Due to her last message I’m living now in a museum that holds all her memories. I’m going to be moving out soon. However, my heart can’t let her go. I’ve been crying all the time. Even though I’m going to the gym and trying to take care of me.

So this Sunday is going to be a month since she ran away and dumped me. And if she has a spark of belief that I may reach out, I want to reach out. If she feels guilty for what she did and she can’t reach out because she thinks I’m pissed, I want her to know that’s not the case.

Anyway, what do you think? Should I reach out? She blocked me out of all social media, so I would have to call her. I just wan to tell her: Hey, how are you doing? I just wanted to let you know that I love you, I’ll be here if you need me, and I’m not angry at you. Please take care. That’s all thank you.

And be done with it.

Quote from Epictetus Discourses:

“From this day forward, then, whenever we do anything wrong we will ascribe the blame only to the judgement from which we act; and we will endeavour to remove and extirpate that, with greater care than we would abscesses and tumours from our body”

I’ve read the enchiridion a couple of times, but this is the first time I actually started to read the complete handbook.

This is from the first chapter. Just awesome. Epictetus definitely was a great teacher.

If I could have a Time Machine, I’d definitely travel to that place in time to meet this guy.

“I must die. If instantly, I will die instantly; if in a short time, I will dine first, since the hour for dining is here, and when the time comes, then I will die. How? As becomes a person who is giving back what is not his own”
