Level Lock quality

My brother had the level lock+’s at his house and had a terrible experience with them. And looking online I feel like everyone’s experience is pretty hit or miss. I was wondering if they have improved?
I really loved it, but his was consistently not responding or dying. He switched to Yale and that has been pretty ass too. I have a Eufy lock that has zero issues, but I am curious about Aqara and Level

What is this kind of deadbolt called?

I’m trying to remove it, but don’t even know how to google it. There is nothing to interact with on the other side, it’s a flat door. On the door edge, there are no additional screws, it’s just the lock cylinder.

I tried sticking a screwdriver in and prying it out and it’s in there solid. Every lock replacement or deadboltdeadbolt replacement video I’ve watched they are able to interact with the lock from the other side of the door. I tried drilling a bigger hole to see if I could see an end to it. Im trying to install a smart lock but cant remove this old dead bolt.

Fancy light switches and outlets

We were thinking about upgrading our light switches and outlets to these fancy Residence supply brass switches, we were wondering if they would add value to the house because they look premium or should it just be something we plan on swapping back out when we sell?
