WiFi no longer exists on devices but Ethernet is working. Twin cities area.

So a week ago the WiFi in my house just dropped. Ethernet went down and when it came back only the Ethernet worked. I have reset my devices as we are using century link with the quantum fiber smart NiD thing.

Called support and they said there was a partial outage in the area and that they were working on it. When I troubleshoot through my IP address the only things that fail are the DNS resolve and DNS #1 and #2.

Three days ago my Alexa was somehow able to connect as well as my home security system. WiFi doesn’t show up on phones or television however even after “forget this device/network” was done on both.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have work around? It’s fine working from home off Ethernet but I need WiFi to transfer audio files for my job.

Second Draft opening feedback.

I posted here when I finished my first draft a few months ago. I’ve been working on a second project but felt it was time to come back to try a second pass at this thing. At 100,000+ words I’m dreading how long this will take but enjoying the process nonetheless.

I feel as if my writing style has changed since the first time I wrote chapter one as well as my understanding of story telling shallowly.

Does this first chapter do too much or too little in establishing the narrators voice? I wanted to give just enough exposition to keep the story moving along but not so much that it turns into an old sci-fi prequel.

P.s. I do write on my phone primarily during breaks at work so sorry about formatting and dark mode.

Donut is not a white cat with a pink bow on her head.

I don’t know how I’ve gone through reading 8 books physically and on audio with just not realizing that Donut is not white furred. I saw fan art today and I was like “oh that’s a pretty cool choice for the art style.”

Then I saw the same thing on another post.

I finally grabbed my copy of book 8 from the shelf and literally couldn’t believe I had somehow not understood this basic knowledge. This whole time I’d been picturing her as a cross between the lil cat from the aristocats animation and the main villian in the first cats vs dogs movie.

Forget mongo, I’m appalled.

The Librarian and the Diadect

Played through Halo 4 recently and found an interesting characterization that fit Mustang and the Reaper.

In these terminal lore drops you see these two leaders, a husband and wife in glimpses.

The librarian seeks peace and wishes to give up the responsibility of “the mantle” to humans. The Diadect believes himself to be the guiding hand and the only one able to safeguard the galaxy.

Iron gold shows the weight of the sovereign scepter upon Mustang and how she longs to hand off the leash of democracy to someone else. The reaper however does not wish to find peace. Not until his job is done. I say reaper because I feel Darrow is a very different person than the reaper at times.

In one terminal the Diadect speaks to his greatest foe, the “lord of admirals” on his death bed. There is a martial respect between them.

Towards the end of these terminals the Diadect has an “only way is through” mentality and it ends up costing him everything. His wife’s trust, his people, himself. I wonder how the road into red god may end? Is there a path where the reaper cannot let go of the mantle? Or has the healing in lightbringer brought Darrow to the forefront?

I enjoyed the game, but this may be a case of “cathedrals everywhere for those with eyes to see” when it comes to seeing characteristics between these two warlords and Librarians.
