Some bear sketches I made

I'm a wildlife artist. These sketches are mostly to learn and study the bear's anatomy, as well as to test a few different poses for an upcoming larger artwork. Thought you might like seeing a bit of the 'behind the scenes'

After multiple months of work, Diego's artwork is now finished! 😄 His artwork is now donated to Jimmy's Farm, where it'll be auctioned to raise some extra critical funds for the bears.

My very first Haflinger drawing, and I loved it!! They're not the easiest in color, especially as their color seems different in every photograph. But that makes the end result all the more rewarding tbh. Any haffie owners here? ☺️

A dressage drawing made today. I really tried to capture the feeling like the horse was dancing, and adding the focus into his face. I'd love to hear some of your feedback!

A drawing of a Connemara pony! Any Connemara owners here? What do you love most about the breed and what needs to be included in their portrait?

My very first time drawing a Connemara pony!

I'd love to hear from Connemara owners: what makes you love them so much? And what needs to be included in their portraits to recognise the breed instantly?

I love learning about horse breeds. And when drawing them, I want to get their personality and looks 100% right. So I'd love to hear from you!

Trying out a new style of art, a little more impressionistic. I'd love to hear whether you like it

A painting of a Lusitano

A short video sharing some of the process of my latest Lusitano painting. I've been practising my oil painting skills, with a particular focus on white horses, as I found them the most challenging. More videos on my TikTok, Paulien's Pet Art

Shop Feedback request - Would you think it's genuine handmade, or feels like AI?

Hi everyone! Just decided to start posting on my Etsy shop, and looking for some help/feedback here. Link to my Etsy shop.

My main questions are:

  • Is it clear that I am making my art by hand, or should I make my description more unique? For my listing, I looked at other listings selling pet portraits. However, a lot of it seems like AI. So I tried to take inspiration from those, since they seem to be doing well. But I also tried to prove I'm doing it all myself.
  • For the people selling: Are new people finding you? Or is it mostly people you brought in through your socials?
  • Is posting a listing once enough for people to find you? Or is it a good idea to keep reposting the same one after some time?

I created this shop to reach extra people with my pet portraits. I've been selling pet portraits through my socials for the last couple of years, but it's starting to get hard to reach the right people, and I thought Etsy might help.

I currently only have 2/3 listings, but I am actively adding more! Just trying to spread the load over a couple of days. I tried to follow everything Etsy recommended, adding a lot of pictures and even a video of me creating the work. And I added free shipping, as that seems to help as well. For my listing, I looked at other listings selling pet portraits. However, a lot of it seems like AI. So I tried to take inspiration from those, since they seem to be doing well. But I also tried to prove I'm doing it all myself.

Thank you! Any additional feedback is also definitely welcome!

A drawing I made of Mr. Nibbles! Loved the size, which allowed me to get all the bunny details in

A portrait of a brown bear I am working on! It's so interesting to study them upclose and observe the different colors in their fur

One of my favourite dog portraits I've drawn! Anyone who dares to guess the breed? (it's not a very common one 🫢)

My drawing of a tiger, which will hopefully be sold in aid of The Big Cat Santuary. I'd love to hear what you think of it - and whether you're a fan of the eyes closed... ☺️
