Some Art for MOXIE 2 // Overdrive
Here's some art I made recently.

Here's some art I made recently.
Here's finally the first level! The yo-yo can also be used as a platform! If you throw it in the air, it'll be sent diagonally in front of you to act as a platform temporarily. Still working on enemy placements.
Lmk what you think!
A simple showcase of these screens at the start of the game. Everything can still change but I think I'm very happy with how it is, aside from the disc not rotating at the bottom option. What do y'all think?
I'm very very happy with the visuals of this game compared to the first one. Imo has much more identity, but it's also cuz I have more inspirations now going into it. The first art I showed off was inspired by Outkast's Stankonia, and the game takes much more inspiration from vynils and albums from 00s R&B & rap (modern ones too occassionally), alongside Sonic being another major inspo now.
Unfortunately I haven't done anything gameplay related so I can't show off the first levels for Veve (the deer). I'm working on enemies, the tag designs and just making the level look nice and have it be playable.
Unlike in MOXIE // Graffiti Burst, Veve will have an attack to use! It's still a very early WIP, but showing to give an idea. For now I'm just faking it, but hopefully the custom projectile plugin can get updated one of these days.
I wanted to give her a yo-yo because I felt it was very fitting with the themes of the game and adds a bit more depth, as now you'll be able to not just jump over, but also attack the cops in the way. By holding Dpad up, you'll throw it at a 45 degree angle, and I'm working on making it go directly down if you hold down while in the air.
This does mean that tagging is fully automatic, since this'll be on the B button. I initially planned to expand the tagging but I'm treating it more like coins I suppose. The pause while tagging has been fully removed too, so it's very seamless.
Still working on the level!
I've begun development with MOXIE // GB's sequel, called MOXIE 2 // Overdrive.
The game takes place a few weeks after the first game ended. You'll be able to pick 2 campaigns, Veve's which is focussed on speed, and Gina's, whose levels will be slightly more exploration based.
This artwork is a bit of an idea of how the game's art will be (not per say the sprites, moreso the big drawings' style).
Lmk what you think, and will show off the first level soon!

The demo has been updated too! I'm already working on the next game so I hope to show that off in a few weeks.
MOXIE // Graffiti Burst releases next tuesday, May 12th.
I was inspired by a video on Sonic level openers, and decided to add them into MOXIE // Graffiti Burst, they only last 1.5 seconds but you can interact with them and they're almost all unique/related to the level. I hope despite them being so short it adds some extra flair.
First one is a pixel-over since I first had it just scaled down, and the other 2 are from bigger pieces I did. Feedback appreciated if there's anything off. Will also be ready to show the final few levels very shortly, since I finished them

Hello, I've started a Kickstarter a few weeks ago, in order to hopefully raise funds which will go towards an OST for the game. There's a playable demo too! The OST will be chiptune 8-bit music but will have a focus on hiphop and funk music.
I'm at 40% now, so hoping I can make a big push this last week to reach the goal. Please consider sharing it around if it seems interesting: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/platinaxo/moxie-graffiti-burst-a-skating-game-for-game-boy-color

This area was gonna be the skatepark, but it'll be more beach-y now. The gimmick is that you can play as a tiny deer in the background. Graphics will be improved, but the level's done in terms of layout.
