Super Fun Adventure Led to Horrible Wet Consequences

Super Fun Adventure Led to Horrible Wet Consequences

Hi! We are Callie (bottom of picture) and Ruby (top) (both 6F). This is our first joint post.

Today Mommy let us out in the backyard (fully fenced) for our usual afternoon pee/bake in the sun. But there was an Animal of some kind under an old shed built over a hill near the corner of the yard. The under part of the shed is blocked by our fence so we couldn't get to it.

We don't know what was under the shed today, but it was *interesting*. It was so interesting I, Callie, refused to leave it after Mommy called me until she was mad. Then I just whimpered and made distressed noises. I, Ruby, just plain ignored Mommy but I eventually came back to the door on my own. But Mommy had to put on boots and duck under bushes to get close enough to Callie, because she thought I was stuck. Actually I was still ignoring her and running around, trying to get closer to the Animal. Eventually Mommy grabbed me, Callie, and dragged me back to the house! She pulled me to the bathroom and called the Human Puppies to help. They gave me a bath! Just because I had old cobwebs on my face. My tail was tucked as far under me as possible but they didn't care! The Boy held my collar and made me stay while Mom & the Girl scrubbed me. I was miserable.

I, Ruby, got to stay outside while they were manhandling Callie. But then Mommy grabbed my collar and dragged me to the bathroom too! I already escaped the house once today so I wasn't worried. And I did escape the Boy in the tub. But the door was shut and the Girl pulled me back to Mommy! I gave my best Sad Puppy eyes (I am a Master of Sad Puppy eyes) but nothing helped. Even after I escaped the tub again.

Obviously this is an open and shut case for ruining our fun, puppynapping, holding us against our wills, and torture with water. But what should we sue for? We made sure to get all 3 humans soaked, and Ruby dug through Mommy's clean clothes and rolled a little on them. But there's no way we're even with Mommy or her minions yet. So what should we sue for?

Welcome Ruby! (Adopted today)

Did we really *need* another dog? Probably not. But the shelter was drowning, big sister Callie was starting to get bored and frustrated after a year of being the only dog (after a lifetime of being around more dogs than humans), and Ruby seems like the perfect dog. The two who were most likely to veto the adoption met her today and she charmed them both. My husband is already using a baby voice with her, and by the time the meet and greet with Callie was done, they were following each other around and sometimes licking faces. Obviously we'll take it slow, but a joint walk tonight went perfectly and she seems very comfortable here.

Need project ideas

These squishy skeins just arrived today after "well, I see they're having a sale online so I'll just browse but I won't buy anything" turned inevitably into "Ooooh! Where's my credit card?" They're wonderful and squishy and warm and I love the colors and they're very squishy. But they're not going to work for the project I had in mind. So I would love recommendations for crochet projects.

Notes: I would call myself an advanced beginner. I tend to stick to the basic stitches because I do a lot of crocheting in the dark. I *hate* counting stitches. I would prefer a YouTube tutorial because I struggle so hard with written patterns that I almost always give up and just freehand everything. I make a lot of shawls, blankets and purses, but I dont think that's what I want this time. The only time I made a sweater, it went horribly wrong and I'm still not recovered yet. And I dont think this is enough yarn anyway.

Any ideas on what this yarn wants to be?

Send Pawyer! Mommy had to buy a replacement because of me

Hi! I'm Callie, 6F. Tonight started normal. I slept all day until Mommy was making dinner, then I was trying to play with Human Brother (9M, human). He makes all kinds of fun, high-pitched noises when I try to teach him to play. Finally he decided to go outside with Sister and Daddy so I couldn't play with him anymore. But then he called Mommy because he couldn't find his shoes. Mommy was Not Happy but she never is when she's "getting interrupted every 2 minutes! Do you even want to eat dinner tonight?"

Mommy couldn't find Brother's shoes either. It was a great game to follow her through every room! She went to most of the rooms a bunch of times! Then she went outside to watch Sister and Daddy came in and he did the same thing. It was so funny to watch them search the whole house. After a long time, they started putting on shoes (Brother was using shoes that smelled old and he said they were too tight) and I had to go in my crate.

They came home 1 furever later, with stinky new shoes and also shrimp and fries! I got 2 fries that were on the floor and Mommy gave me a shrimp. Maybe the shrimp was for hiding Brother's shoes so well?

A couple of minutes ago, Mommy heard me pawing at something in my crate and found Brother's shoes. She's threatening to take back the shrimp I ate because I don't deserve it? It was the best game of hide and seek EVER and I won, so I think I definitely deserve it. And probably I deserve the rest of the shrimp too.

3 people searched the entire house for an hour before running to the store for another pair because we couldn't find these shoes

She's never stolen clothes or shoes before. I had to stop making dinner to help search, then we had to run to the store. And by the time we were walking out of the store, it was almost bedtime, so we had to grab fast food because we missed dinner.

My dog ate yarn

Mainly I need to know how much I should be worrying about this. Callie is 6 years old, 50 lbs. The yarn is Merino wool and was wrapped into a ball about the size of a small meatball. She had a big drink of water immediately after, then went to sleep because it was bedtime. That was about an hour ago and she's sleeping normally.

There's a chance she didn't eat anything, but I found a bigger skein of yarn in her bed and I can't find the yarn ball in question. I assume her vet will tell us to come in for x-rays. I am not confident that we will be able to afford x-rays, though I have no idea how much they'll cost. I'm just outside a large city on the east coast of America, if that helps.

I'm hoping she will just pass the yarn ball herself, but I just don't know. I've had 4 dogs over 20 years and this is the first time any of them has eaten something inedible. Should I rush her to the vet first thing tomorrow morning? Or should I just keep an eye on her? Fortunately I'll be home with her all day anyway.

Species/breed: pit bull

Age: 6 years

Sex: spayed female

Weight: 50 lbs

No symptoms, but this happened an hour ago.

Hi, I'm Callie, aka Bunky Butt, and a certified Good Girl.

My family disappeared for many hours this weekend. They came home smelling of hot dogs one day but not did not give me hot dogs. Then the next day they were gone for forever again (Mom said something about gymnastics competition which might explain why Big Sister was sweaty). And yesterday they were gone FOREVER for a "festival". From morning until my usual time to go out in the afternoon. They smelled like so many things! If you've never sniffed a peacock feather, you need to! Most interesting smell I've ever smelled. Neither of my human siblings will let me eat theirs though, which seems unfair.

But no smell is worth me being home alone for 5 hours. I was so sad that I spent the night on the couch instead of pushing Mom & Dad into uncomfortable positions around me in bed.

But this morning, Mom took me to drop off the human puppies at school. I love car rides! And getting to look at all of the people is so fun. Then just now Mom took me with her to a food place. I got a piece of chicken for being so good and as an apology for being stuck in my crate for so many forevers over the past days. Mom says I'm not going to pick up the kids from school because "it's hot and you'll be miserable." Pffft. Mommy's dumb. But Daddy's home today and I love him more anyway so I'll just bug him the whole time she's gone.

This picture is me hoping for more chicken. Pretty sure Mommy still owes me.
