Found these cuties at an estate sale!

Check out this 70s pair of crewel work! I bought them at an estate sale last Friday, The needlework is really well done, the colors are still bright, there’s felt incorporated for the clothing and faces and they’re in the original frames. Has anyone else run across these? An internet search only yielded a sold pair on Etsy, no price given.

The saving grace of my Singer Touch & Sew (1975): bobbin winding

I’ve never before looked forward to rewinding a bobbin, but this makes it almost fun!
What’s does your vintage machine have that makes you love it?

Can you name the movie I cross stitched? And what should I do for a border?

As an 80s kid, I couldn’t resist designing this cross stitch for one of my favorite movies!

Can you guess the movie?

Hint: it’s from 1989
Hint: it has Tori Spelling
Hint: it takes place in California

Also, I’m at a loss for what to do for the border. Any quote suggestions? Or do you think a cookie garland would be best? Or maybe badges?

Could this be real 1930s-40s feed sack?

I was gifted this beautiful piece of fabric by a friend who found it in her mom’s estate. These details make me wonder if it might be real feed sack: abstracted berries/flower buds on vine, the limited color palette, the off white background, the coarser and lighter weight feel than contemporary cloth.

The dimensions are 32”x42”, but it has a chunk out of it, so these might not be the original dimensions. Plus, if these aren’t the original edges then it’s no use looking for a bag seam, right?

Most of the other fabric in the box feels and looks newer than the feed sack era but is still vintage. (Short video of entire box’s contents: https://youtube.com/shorts/5MmRSO5AlZ4?si=hhAqTuteFjdPWOJQ )

What do you think:
Authentic feed sack (sugar/flour) from 30s-40s?
OR
Newer Intentional repro?
OR
60s-70s at earliest, but still vintage?

Finishing a quilt started in the ‘50s!

I’m a new quilter with a big undertaking: I am finishing a double wedding ring quilt that was presumably begun in the 50s or 60s - there was a bag of 1,000+ precut wedges I bought from an antique store and I laid them out and figured out the original quilter’s intent. I am close to running out of original wedges so have made a template and have begun cutting vintage fabric to finish it out to queen size.

I’m doing raw edge appliqué bc otherwise I’d lose too much of the beautiful prints turning them under.

Feel free to post your own quilt rescues! Would love to see them!!
