The Hard Truth: Amex Runs on Perceived Luxury

Hard truth: some Amex Centurion Lounges have gotten nasty. 😭

The buffet is the biggest example. Food gets picked through, spills happen, serving areas get messy, and sometimes it just looks unappetizing. 💀
Meanwhile, Capital One lounges seem much more on top of keeping the food stations clean and presentable.
Amex has the luxury branding, but sometimes the buffet is giving Golden Corral at closing time. 😭💀

Current C1 setup

I want to swap the Venture (95) card for a Quicksilver, but they are only allowing me to switch it to the Quicksilver with the annual fee. I don’t want to close it because I have not had it long enough, yet I only got it in January. And I don’t want them to take the bonus back.

Holy grail CC combo

If you don’t have the Capital One Duo, you are literally missing out. It’s the holy grail of credit card combos.

Venture X
- No forced spending at Lulu Lemon
- No buffet-style lounges 🤮
- Easy-to-use $300 travel credit
- 10K bonus miles every year you hold the Venture X card
- Hertz Presidential status
- Easy-to-use Capital One travel app
- Great offers for extra miles
- Low annual fee: $395

Savor - NO ANNUAL FEE
3X - Streaming , Grocery, Dining
Simple to use, no quarterly or yearly credits.

*** NO CRAZY CREDITS TO TRY AND JUSTIFY A Ridiculously large fee.

Loved Amex and Chase for years but it’s become too mainstream and don’t have the exclusivity feel anymore.

Paze credit

Am I able to utilize the Paze credit on my Venture X card and Savor card? So basically I would be getting a $200 credit or is it just 1 card account per customer?

Capital One Travel worked flawlessly

You see a lot of posts about things going wrong, but my Capital One travel experience was smooth across the board, flight, hotel, car, all easy. Even the IAD lounge was great ( First time ever at C1 Lounge). Can’t wait to check out JFK!

Travel app 😍

First time using the Travel app for a trip, and the UI is so cool. They need to update their general
Banking app to be as interactive as the travel app.

Spend Bonus 🎉

Archived the Venture X spend bonus this morning when the transactions posted and got the 75k miles a few hours later. Love the Venture X card in the travel
Portal. I also got the Venture ($95) bonus just back in March. ❤️❤️

Lounge reservation

Has anyone been having a problem with trying to join the waitlist or see the live capacity at the JFK lounge?

Current C1 Set up

My current Capital One set up now that I’ve been approved for the Venture X. Probably going to close the Venture card before my AF comes up in January. Going to add another 75K to my Miles when I hit the SUB for the venture. Excited for this summer to travel for little to nothing.

APPROVED !!!

I just got approved for the venture X card and back in January. I was approved for the regular venture card with the $95 annual fee and I was able to get the sign-up bonus back in January and now they’re letting me get another sign on bonus with the venture X card is that normal?
