Budget build ALMOST complete:
Only other thing I need is a nice barrel, I'm between a CHF chrome lined 5.56 barrel from Geissele, FN, DD, etc. Or a .223 Wylde barrel, but I dont know much about .223 wylde other than it's pretty cool.

Picked this up from the LGS today, it was sealed still, came with 2 of the front pieces, and no back piece?
Update: Magpul support sent me a full replacement free of charge, and let me keep this one.
Also, I'm pretty sure it was a sorting error at the factory, not a stolen part, like some replies have suggested, because the part was swapped out with the wrong one, rather than being missing altogether. The box also wasn't tampered with before I opened it.
Either way, Magpul was more than helpful, and quick to respond.
Posted a few updates before, but I'm taking classes to copy an original 1790's Abraham Schweitzer rifle, from Lancaster, still a long ways to go, but its really taking shape (original rifle is on top)
Made a more progress since these photos, but here's my progress copying an original Schweitzer rifle, presumably built in the 1790's in Lancaster PA. Its been a long and expensive project, but its all taking shape
Didn't want to spend $600 on a "Hydra-matic" lower, now that IntlMilCo trademarked it, and didn't want to go through the effort of getting a blank lower engraved, so... H&R is kind of a clone lower 🤷♂️ it'll at least hold me over until I decide to get super particular about it. Currently it has a PSA branded lower.
My 2 budget builds, 16" and 10.5" made of opportunistic budget parts
Some of the extra parts I've found or swapped out and have left over, not sure where they'll go yet

Edit: I'm just removing my price estimates from this description, this was supposed to be a fun little comparison, I don't know why people are so concerned with a rough estimate of what I paid, its exhausting, grow up, its my fucking paycheck, not yours. 🙄
An original rifle, estimated to be from the early 1790's, built in Lancaster PA. And an MK18 mod 0. Showing how far riflemaking has come in this country's 250 year history.
Had fun last year, but this year I'm once again weighing options in my head of what I can actually wear/ bring, last year I wore foam spacers in my plate carrier, this year I may wear Level IV ceramics for dedication to the bit, also not sure if I need to remove trauma shears from my kit, I did last year to be safe, but idk, also trying to figure out a way to carry a prop gun, but the rules on the website are not very clear on what's is allowed in that department, every year I see people with what are clearly airsoft guns, but the rules on the site indicate those aren't allowed, any insight from people who've been going longer than me would be appreciated
Some of the weapons I own that I would consider carrying in a potential apocalypse scenario, wouldn't call myself a prepper necessarily, but my interests overlap, I live mostly off-grid on a smaller property in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by national forrest, that makes for a great spot to hide out should anything ever go downhill, and I'm a gunsmith, heres the weapons shown in order:
Daniel Defense M4A1 Block II with small upgrades
Colt MK18 Mod 0/ Colt M4 CQBR
A fully maxed out Bear compound bow (30" draw, 70lbs draw weight) unfortunately it was the longest draw bow that Bass Pro had, so I have to shoot an extended release because my arms are so long
Savage 110 Tactical (.308)
Mossberg 500A (12 ga)
Pietta 1851 Navy .44 cal (Black Powder) Edit the picture of this didn't post properly because it was a PNG, I also have some other pistols in 9mm and .45 acp aswell as some other assorted guns that I didn't post pictures of including some black powder rifles
Upper is practically fully clone correct, just need to buy another SOPMOD stock, and the right lower
