About to start my first DOS1 run-through having recently finished and loved DOS2. Currently have no idea what DOS1 is gonna be like but I want to make some decent choices character creation wise. Is it only a two person party you have in this game? Is there physical and magical armour the same as DOS2? Is it better to have two magic builds or two physical or one of each? Thanks :D

I've been looking forward to becoming the all-powerful divine this whole game, I've been playing as Sebille, super cutthroat character, although she does have the aspect of hating all-powerful dictators (destroyed the mother tree also) so I guess there's that, but I realllyyyy wanted to become divine... But Sebille and Ifan have fallen in love and I can't do him like that 😭 I googled whether it will make him hate me and it will and I just can't bring myself to do it so I've just left the game on the decision screen and not picked it up since, I think I'll end up picking the other option literally just because of Ifan and I hate myself for being influenced like that by my in-game situationship but here I am, unable to make the choice I've been playing for hundreds of hours to be able to make 😂

As an aside, Ifan also got naked at some point during the final battle (I think maybe his constitution got so low from status effects his contamination armour came off) but I low-key think he's just using his nudity as another bargaining chip to dissuade me from claiming divinity 😭 it's working

I have Fane as a pyro/geo mage and I just got 4/5 pieces of the contamination armour set and I'm wondering if those bonuses to poison resistance would work to make his poison healing more or less effective as I saw somewhere that anything over 100% is less effective but unsure how that would work. What are the pros and cons of using this set for him, especially before completing it? My party is currently level 16 and about to leave for the nameless isle and squeezed every bit of xp out of Act 2. Would it be better on Ifan, my other mage build? (Hydro/aero) Or not worth using on either, until completing the set, or not at all? Thanks in advance for any advice!

So I'm pretty new to this game, just nearing the end of Act 1, couple more lvl8 battles to do before I leave the island (wanna do everything I can here before leaving). Initially I had Sebille main (ranger), Fane (geo/pyro), Red Prince (Melee) and Lohse (Aero/Hydro). However, I've ended up hating Lohse and also finding her kind of useless in battle, which I realise is down to my choices! I want to replace her with Ifan, also partly so I can use his Pet Pal to finish the pig storyline. I just don't know what kind of build to do for him. I read that I should have 2 who do magic damage and 2 doing physical damage rather than 3/1 either way, so if that's true what options do I have other than a very similar build to what Lohse had anyway? I'd really appreciate any help!

So I LOVED CC1. One of my favourite fantasy books I've read, I think it would've been an amazing standalone, although I did enjoy getting to see more characters develop throughout book 2 and 3. However, I feel like the writing got so much worse and felt really rushed and poorly planned out in the second two books, don't know if this is just me. But the main thing I'm really sad about is Hunt and Bryce - after finishing book 1, they were possibly one of my favourite book couples EVER. Definitely of SJMs books. The way their relationship developed from a friendship and they learnt to work with each other just felt so real and their humour together and everything, I just loved them together. But almost straight away in book two, they suddenly just seemed so stale and forced and the magic was gone, and it's been the same throughout to the end of book three. I'm so disappointed and almost wish I'd stopped reading after book one just to have not fallen out of love with them as a couple. Is this a symptom of the seemingly poorer writing and planning in the second two books or is SJM really gearing them up to split? I can't wrap my head around that because of some of the phrases she used to describe them together, the 'nothing would ever feel so right' kind of vibe. To me it feels like book 1 was truly a passion project for her, as I remember her saying in the CMD podcast, but once it was published and maybe she had the pressure to continue the series, maybe she lost that love that made book 1 so special? What are your thoughts?

A cold, mangled corpse at the roadside

As yet unmarred by the maw of decay

Just twisted, and crumpled, and stone-eyed

Laid stark and detached on an ocean of gray

In passing, I'm stricken with sorrow

My musings disturbed by the murderous scene;

A lifetime of stolen tomorrows

Reduced into ruin by ruthless machine

The feeling, it follows me forward

I carry the corpse like a funeral parade

As if I, by remaining tortured

Atone for it's suffering, a toll that's been paid

On reflection, a meaningless gesture

An attempt at appeasement when naught can be changed

A moral and honourable vesture

Concealing the guilt that I mean to assuage

For the bird has been dead for a while

And my mourning means nothing, it lessens no pain

To carry it's corpse is futile

I am clothing myself as a martyr in vain.
